First of all everyone, I'm a developer of 5 years in the business and I can't believe I'll be defending Craptic. I can't login to the game. I know the communication is not acceptable. I know an unnoticed log off time of 17 hours is not acceptable. I know it's all, not acceptable. But jesus, please have some sympathy here. Trust me no one here would want to be in the shoes of those developers right now. You have no idea what the problem is, and again trust me, in this business it's not that easy to solve some unseen problems. Just chill a little bit. They already said they would make up for it, and Neverwinter has always been positive when it comes to gifting regarding technical problems.
Honestly, people demanding answers RIGHT THIS BLOODY SECOND is annoying.
I'd rather developers spend the time simply acknowledging there's a problem and fixing it than fielding demands from pitchforks on social media and forums.
I remember the early days of Everquest. At least they gave you an ETA for completion of patches. They gave you updates on what was going on. At least they acknowledged the importance of community relations. But these people? ...... nothing ......crickets. just crickets.

If that happened it would mean the dev team were skipping off to enjoy their Easter weekend knowing full-well that all these players (I'm guessing thousands judging by the forum thread and tweet views) are going to spend the Easter weekend locked out of the game and having a cr@ppy Easter with no game to play. This would mean that the dev team was putting their own enjoyment and recreation above that of those they work for. I'm sure they wouldn't do that. Surely they will stay and work until it's resolved because that's what a dedicated professional developer team does when a game crashes in such a serious way like this. Right @nitocris83 ?

May be they can resolve it by then or may be not. May be part of the dev team already flied out before the HAMSTER hit the fan, Who knows? Nothing will surprise me anymore.

What is unacceptable though? We don't know what the issue even is, we just know they are working on it and that we are getting some sort of makegood. If you found out your water pressure has died down to a trickle suddenly late at night, would you be expecting it to be diagnosed AND fixed by close of business the next day? Sometimes things are complicated and it takes to while to figure out what caused the issue in the first place. Sometimes things just take time. I would expect to hear something more later today, for sure, even if it's just "We haven't found the culprit yet but we are still working on it".
I have very specific needs by the day in order to complete the April Fowls event and earn the currency I need so I'm counting that I will not be prevented from gaining access before Tuesday. I will simply not have enough days left to do what I need to do if that is the case, whereas it was fine up to this point. And I more or less know they won't extend the event.

@nitocris83 If you guys can't work out the issue and fix it at this point in time, at least be kind to players and do a full rollback so we can all log in during the Easter weekend and you can work it all out later. That's fair.

Yes. This is past the point of unacceptable. If they don't think, by their actions, that this is important enough to fix, before Easter. Then they have turned this good game into smelly excrement that needs to be flushed down the toilet.
Same here. It crashed a few times earlier today but I was able to log back in. However, a little while ago, it crashed and then would crash every time thereafter. I did a force verify and now the client won't even start. I'm getting the same error popup from the launcher that everyone else is seeing. In the Crash/Freeze Info thread I posted my DxDiag dump.

You could keep on playing if you have not applied that patch. I did not have problem when many complained about this issue. I kept on playing last night. I did not logoff. I more or less never logoff except for external reason such as server maintenance, system reboot, windows update, etc. However, this morning, the client crashed. When I login again, it started to patch. After it is patched, I have the same problem as others. If the client did not crash, I could be still playing.

@nitocris83 is it possible for staff to compile update and put it in third party host server.. So that players players could download and update/patch game client manually. While also slighly alter so game client would not try download updatedes from update server.

OH my goodness, this reminds me of PE We are all in the same boat, not happy, but bashing them while they are trying to fix it will not make it get fixed any faster, this was my day off so i feel the pain for sure. Would you like people beating down your office door screaming insults and demands, i would not, i may even lock that door! Breathe deep, they will get it at some point, the more time they take to address anger the longer it will take. Not thrilled at all, but a bit of patience goes a long way, so hang in there everyone and lets hope cooler heads prevail, and a fix comes asap
I was able to play for a short period of time by logging in via ARC. Managed to get my key and invoke on all my alts. I started by logging in to an alt first. In PE but my main is in Mezzo. I logged in there last.
I was able to grab my key and invoke. Wandered around a bit, then crash.
If you are really upset, I get it, but there are a ton of other games you can play. Maybe it is time for you to move on. I am sticking with it. I still enjoy the game.
