I'd be very happy even with BtA stuff so you can use Weaponsmithing on your alt to do most of the sets. Glad it's not like BI prof and elemental items. But i'm not sure if BoE will be a good idea tho, mainly because most of pips will just buy them with AD.
I for am VERY glad that the only Masterwork items are the ones that can be farmed with Explorers Charts. There's too much disparity in professions - either you've spent millions to make millions or you're just a normal player. There's no in between...
Please keep all parts of this new set, and all future sets, attainable for the normal players.

Wouldn't even bother costs like 5k AD to get what you need for each weapon.

In that mark, shouldn't the elemental artifact weapons require masterwork recipe book? Professions get a major update, but by not having the tasks under the masterwork section, masterworks themselves will lose players and popularity since they are not being updated and won't produce best in slot equipment or weapons anymore. That would be leaving a section of proffessions to fade in their own luck.
The elemental weapons are inferior to the stronghold weapons which require masterwork professions. I believe I mentioned this when masterwork professions were first released, and I want to continue to reiterate that we won't only add recipes through masterwork in the future. We want professions to be useful for other players as well.
That being said, we do have long term plans to continue to support masterwork. For some time now, masterwork has provided best in slot. There will be a period of time where that is not the case, with the new relic armor and relic weapons. We're not intending for crafted masterwork items to always represent best in slot. However, those who have invested in masterwork will not have their investment go to waste in the long term. We think there's still a market for players who don't have access to the new endgame gear.
so... which profession is needed for tr and hr? someone knows? i hate professions
In terms of the materials required to restore the upcoming relic weapons, it's not as simple as weaponsmiths makes the materials for those using physical weapons, and artificers make the materials for those using magical weapons.
For most players, we'd like you to just look at the material that's needed, and then buy it on the auction house or commission a crafter. Perhaps a friend or guild mate. All the materials needed to make the item can be traded, as can the final result. In addition (this is not yet the case on preview) but the recipes will be nearly instant.
For those interested in beginning to identify which materials are used for which weapon, there are four items: bibliothol, reliquary wax, mana plaster, and enchanted loam. Weaponsmithing crafts the first two and artificer crafts the later two. The main hand and off hand will each require one of these materials each, and that can be viewed in the restoration window.
You'll get the idea through the flavor text, but bibliothol is used to restore leather components, reliquary wax for metal, mana plaster for magical components, and enchanted loam for wooden components. Obviously most weapons are made of multiple components, but you can draw some conclusions with that information.
But i'm not sure if BoE will be a good idea tho, mainly because most of pips will just buy them with AD.
That's the idea. If you like professions, we'd like for you to make your own materials, and perhaps sell some extras to buy the items obtained via fishing. If you like fishing but not fighting in heroic encounters, we'd like you to sell some extra fishing materials and buy those that drop from encounters. If you're into all of the systems, farming them all yourself is a great option too!
That being said, we'd like professions to be something for those that enjoy it to make some extra AD and generate value for other players. We'd like those with professions leveled to feel like they can make things that are useful. That being said, we're not aiming to pressure everyone into leveling professions to progress their character.
The elemental weapons are inferior to the stronghold weapons which require masterwork professions. I believe I mentioned this when masterwork professions were first released, and I want to continue to reiterate that we won't only add recipes through masterwork in the future. We want professions to be useful for other players as well.
The problem with Stronghold weapons is that they were best if your whole party used them but the costs were so prohibitive that this basically never happens. So it created this self fufilling situation where people went with twisted/elemental sets because there wasn't much difference in performance and they were more or less free. If you continue to leave them worse or equal to cheaper alternatives no one is ever going to use them.
The costs never did go down to a reasonable level. Masterworks can't work and won't. Forgehammers and Legendary tools are too rare and expensive. They should be made available for all players.
I mean part of the reason is probably because of the relic weapons but there are some armaments on the AH for 500k-1m.

@metalldjt It's an MMO. Gear progression over time is sort of inherent to the genre. You shouldn't have the expectation that every content patch is going to also boost up gear you've already obtained to be equivalent to new gear.

thats what a person would say when its not affected by these changes.. as in he doesnt care...
what i mentioned is nothin different from what you can call PROGRESSION.
how is GEAR PROGRESSION by makin other 6 legendary sets obsolete by plannin to release new tier of weapons?
and also please detail me what other content patch ever boost up gear in neverwinter? NONE.
One could argue that the enchantment ranks going up is an existent gear upgrade from mod to mod... but I do agree with you.
Row, row, row your boat, Gently down the stream.

Let me explain how this GEAR PROGRESSION that ironzerg is talkin, and it's just a blatant illusion that he is makin as a point.
Module 0-1 where our weapons were the usual ones you could obtain as a REWARD from bosses or chest in DreadVault, and CN, afterwards the new module came with Fomorian, that clearly made them better than Ancient ones, few months later others were released dread legion and Fallen dragon with a new module, and for PvP there were the Profound weapons in trade for blades store, aswell as other ones that you could craft through black ice shapin, using black ice.
Fomorian, Fallen dragon and Black ice weapon were all obtainable through crafting, by farming ingredients (sounds familiar to what we have now prepared for the new module)
in module 4 we recived Legendary Belts and Weapons, we had the Golden Weapons that required everyone to finish TOD campaign, the CRAFTING AGE was DONE, so it began the REFINING AGE, not so long all Golden weapons were made obsolete by Elemental Weapons which it didnt take long for them to be obsolete and few months later Drowned, Earthen , Howling and Burning weapons came out, soon followed by stronghold and twisted. Do i think that they have to stop with this called "Gear Progression" ? THEY SURERLY HAVE TO.
the new weapon is gated behind all of the failed attempts from above
CRAFTING , exactly as fomorian, and also using REFINING aswell as the Golden... UAU GEAR PROGRESSION MY HAMSTEEEEEER.
Real Progression would mean you release a new weapon as good as what we already have, and increase for all of them the RANK to 70, to ofcourse to make the new content relevant and also keep the old content relevant , the increasing in rank was even discussed by you DEVS when module 6 came out, you only choose to make the artifacts to mythical, as in you choose instead of releasing artifacts from rank 100 to 120, you choose from 100 - 140 and leave the artifact equipment alone, but it was mentioned on the forum by you DEVs that artifact equipment was also discussed to be rank 70 - mythical... what other good time to do that than now?
How to do it, you release the new weapon with the same weapon damage as the others at rank 60, and further let us increase all the weapons to rank 69-max by refining, and use the new ingredients someth to craft so that we can get a new RAEGENT to maek the gear rank 70, this way you will achieve what you wanted, and keep the diversity goin on... OFC you still have to BALANCE THE SET BONUSES.
so ironzerg , your whatso called GEAR PROGRESSION of what will be released by DEVS, is nothing else than a RECYCLED of the PAST FAILED ATTEMPTs
All around good points, you nailed it. Ironzerg has no choice in the matter but to defend the dev's position and that is fine really. Whats not fine is that something like what you described is unlikely to happen, would be nice but unlikely. Heck I was really looking forward to playing with twisted weapons because I like them but now the simple increase of weapon damage makes them obsolete.. bummer

DEVS MINDSET has completly FAILED these past 10 modules.
REWARDS AGE = you could obtain weapons as a reward from dungeons dread vault and CN CRAFTING AGE = you could farmed the ingredients from the dungeons such as Malabog/Valindra or IWD REFINING AGE= you could have finish the campaign, or farm linus favor to obtain the weapons, and use botted RP to refine them.
so for module 10.5 we have it all mixt up...bcus some guy thinked he had a good idea, if DEVS DO HAVE SUCH GREAT IDEAS, WHY DID WE HAD TO GO THROUGH 3 DIFFERENT AGES ... because you have whats so called unbeatable dev mindset.
Dude I'm surprised they haven't banned you yet for naming and shaming the devs considering how sensitive our mods are.

so they did in fact created new REAGENTS, can you belive this? im just simple mind blown.
Eek. Please tell me that they at least only created rare and epic reagents. Rare reagents for uncommon>rare would make it seem like rare>epic needs epic reagents and epic>legendary ...
edit: NEVERMIND THEY MADE LEGENDARY REAGENTS ARE YOU HAMSTERING KIDDING ME.
All the new runic marks are available from Assault on Svardborg. You will only be able to upgrade from Epic to Legendary with marks obtained in the master version. In general, completing the master version will help you earn progress on the weapon faster.
We're experimenting with this unique reward structure. If you can complete this difficult content, upgrading the relic weapon will actually be faster than a normal weapon, as special refinement items that grant extra RP when fed to a relic weapon will be available. Normal refinement items can also grant relic weapons refinement.
In addition, as the legendary rank will require completion of master mode, it will be quite difficult to obtain. That being said, even the first rank of the new relic weapon is strong, and unlike standard artifact weapons at the uncommon level, it will have an open enhancement slot.
For those who are not interested in endgame trials, we are not replacing marks of potency, union and power for upgrading all artifact weapons moving forward. The next set of weapons we release will be upgraded normally. However, we'd like to reward those of you who challenge this difficult content.
More information will be coming in next week's Svardborg blog which talks more about the fight.

This unique reward structure is not going to help us at all. How are we going to get our weapons faster if we need each of the new reagents you introduced 5 times ( i suppose the same rule applies all the way up to legendary) if the are bound to account? Yes you might be correct that once we get a few of those new refinement items ( each 250k worth of rp in a relic weapon) we might be able to upgrade our weapons faster to legendary. But what about those reagents ( bound to account) ? You expect us to run Swardborg master like Epic Demogorgon. By the time i assembled all 10 marks of each category ( we have 2 relic weapons, main and offhand) i probably have another 200-300 runs of the master version behind me. Thats the same thing that we had with the tiny small drop chance of twisted weapons in Demogorgon. Once you have enough twisted ichor they start to drop. WTF. I suppose the Master version of Swardborg has the same trolling drop rates for the legendary marks as the twisted weapons. Imagine you have to get these things 10 times each, not once !!! Can you please consider a change to remove the bind mechanic on those marks and make them more accessible via the auction house ?
PS: Why are you introducing these new "unique" mechanics now and then already make them obsolete with the module after ? You introduce an enourmous amount of new "thrash" ( keys, rp items, reagents etc etc.) overloading our bags and then go back to traditional weapons. Are the going to be on the same lvl as the relic weapons? Are you going to devalue our relic weapons that fast again?
