The number of maxed-out players would correspond to the number of people with LS armies because the LS armies benefit only those players. There aren't too many out there. You say it's rare, but I don't think it's rare enough to not negatively impact the economy, or cryptic would not have nerfed the LS AD.
That's not exactly true. Cryptic nerfed LS in Xbox too, even after admitting that leadership did little to effect its economy. And Cryptic has had no problem with a similar system in STO. The duty officer system is still allowed to generate their own version of AD, by clicking buttons, and has done so without issue for years now.
We cant even blame the gateway for it, because even after leadership got taken away from it. They still felt it needed more nerfs. And what have we got in return? The zax has dropped a little, but nothing like it is in Xbox. They cant seem to generate enough AD there, even with frequent double AD weekends. Ours, on the other hand has yet to drop below 400. While frequently, depending on the event, rises dangerously close to 500. I personally don't feel like removing AD from leadership has changed all that much in the overall economy.
We were forced into LS AD after the removal of BoE valuable loot and hourly and daily AD quests. Don't play history revisionists. Before that LS armies were rare.
Same here. Early in beta a friend told me, that a LS army would be the best way to earn AD in the long run. I told him, that I would prefer to play a MMO and not a browser game, so I would not build a LS army, as long as I can earn AD in game. They removed every possibility to earn decent amounts of AD in game (CN, DK etc.), so I switched to LS after ca. 2 years.
Most players I knew left before the LS nerf, some left with the nerf and some will leave now. The rule is, that playing the game should be rewarding. If they keep this up, it will not be anymore.
PS I have alts with 4 full refined leg artefacts, full leg. artefact gear, +4 rings, min R7-8 etc UNDER 3k IL. Reinforcement kits are, imo, either for maxed out players or for IL pushers.
No that's really not how things work when something is clearly broken. You complain to the developers and they fix things.
You don't understand the degree to which progress for players has slowed because you don't care about it. Great, you're a special cupcake, but that doesn't mean that the RP market isn't broken. It just means that you're a clueless HAMSTER and you'd just as well play this game as watch grass grow or paint dry. Cryptic already has people like you hooked, what they need to worry about are the people that feel that they're progressing too slowly because it's becoming clear that month after month Cryptic's poor decisions on progression and balance are causing players to quit.
I guess a psychologist would be very happy to meet you. I mean calling someone names that are *beeped* (and of course the obligatory "the got you hooked already" conspiracy HAMSTER thing) just because he doesn't share your opinion has something of an addict. It really would be better for you if you find some therapy to get cured of your addiction for this game...

Look, just because you don't understand that you're the kind of crazy that Cryptic loves doesn't make me crazy. They rely on people like you to keep their games going because they know that no matter how much they **** on you it won't matter because you'll keep playing. They're losing ~15% of their playerbase every month and no matter how much you want to deny it slow progression is one of the factors causing it.
I'm asking this because you are so ignorant to the current climate.
You picked apart my last post without making a single rational point. You casually ignored the real problems with game.
"Dat kool-aid"
If you pay any attention you would know I am a harsh critic of Cryptic. I also realize when there are positive things happening. Could it all be for HAMSTER? For sure, but you are biatching up the wrong HAMSTER tree.
As for your "play a browser" comment. Maintaining a reasonably sized leadership team takes 15 minutes. If it takes someone much longer than that, they have too many characters. It would become a job.
You are so damn blinded by hatred that you don't even know what to complain about. Herespecially a logical thing to complain about, allowed character slots.
Why the hell they didn't set a 20 character limit is beyond HAMSTER comprehension. It's just that stupid.
We can do this all day. We apparently see the game through a different lense. That's fine. I still have no clue how you somehow think that character progression is that hard, especially considering that you can very successfully gear your character without ever touching a piece of artifact equipment.
Of course nothing I said was rational; you disagree with it all so you can't come up with counter argument to the idea that you're willing to put up with any HAMSTER that Cryptic pulls. The game is dying and the grind for RP has always been one of the reasons people quit. Making it worse isn't helping things but you're so blind to the effects that you don't care.

Well, your statements are the best proof that you are desperate in your argumentation. First, I never said that I loved the changes that Cryptic is doing. I can imaging a million things they could do better. Secondly, I never denied that slow progession is one of the factors - even the main factor if you want it to be - that so many players, well, addicts apparently, are leaving.
I only said that I play this game because it is (still) fun for me. I do not need a fast progession because the progression velocity is not a factor for the fun I experience when I play this game. Maybe the day will come when it is no longer fun for me, but as with all the games I played before in my life, I will just move on. Why you have to call me names for that opinion will be your secret only perhaps, but if you really do not understand the difference between what I said/wrote and what you understood/put into my mouth, I really think you need some help...

Who is left? I think most of us are just tired of it.. they won. This is what we get in this game..
All they really want is for the rest of us to throw up our hands and quit and move along, this game is not designed for anyone longer then 6 months in game.
I feel like this more and more every day. Preservation/Coalescent wards need to go back into the Tarmalune trade store. Make them cost more.
This game is designed for bots. Bots to pray, Bots for Leadership, Bots for DragonHoard farming, etc.
The RP market is controlled by bots, all that AD goes to nefarious users.
They don't even ban goldsellers.
Cryptic is asleep at the wheel.

I never said that you love the changes. I said that you'll keep playing in spite of them every time cryptic pulls something like this. And yes, slow progression is always one of the main reason why players quit an MMO. Frankly if you don't understand the fact that MMOs rely on people that are essentially addicted then you're completely blind to all the game mechanics that companies like Cryptic use to attempt to keep players in game.
Actually i am thinking the current strategy for the game is :
1 get as many things out as possible that look good in a press release to get new players to try it out.
2 get new fresh meat players to buy a mount a pet and some wards or AD before they realize endgame is dead.
3 hope 5-10% of them stick around due to time/money invested to get into old players status
4 get old players to buy into bugged or overpowered items illusion, shadow deamon bondings and give them over repetitive content at more minimum dev.cost. +5rings, 30days of dailies and so on
get the most addicted/paying 1% guys to do pvp ideally rerolling to a pvp overpowered character.
Let's hope fresh meat stops comming and the game managment turns the strategy to something else.

I'm still wondering what your point is now that you seem to have scratched at the surface of understanding of what I am saying here... Apparently I am NOT blind to the game mechanics as I stated before that you seem to me like an addict (which you denied). Yes, Cryptic counts on people like you, who are greedy to get the tiniest bit of something to make their char BiS in the tiniest amount of time possible. (And spare me the fairytale that you don't want your char BiS, you do not sound like you are content with anything less.) And since Cryptic counts of people like you, not people like me, as we now found out, the big question is who of us Cryptic has hooked. ;-)

You seem to have pretty poor reading comprehension if that's what you got out of my post.
I've merely implied that you are so drunk on Cryptic's kool aid that nothing they can do will dissatify you. That doesn't mean you're addicted, just that you're oblivious to the problems this game is facing.
And I have absolutely no interest getting BiS. Cryptic nerfs things left and right so I've been gearing alts instead.
this show's that the game is for those who are retired, unemployed or just a student... people who can play all day, i about 4 hrs after work and that's it.

What exactly is to be comprehended if the only ... erm... "argument" is of the kind of "if you don't share my opinion then you are drunk on Cryptic's kool aid"? No substance, no arguments, just non-backuped claims, contradictions, insults and infantile discussion style... Well, I had fun as long as this argument lasted, but now that you seem to start the circle again, I am out of here.

Erm what? There's you, morenthar, and the crazy guy that thinks you can get to 3k in a month just blithely implying there's nothing wrong with taking three years to get to 3.6k because reasons. And anyone that implies otherwise is a whiner that wants BiS for free.
Deathbeez summed up the problem well (as did silverkelt):

This is my sentiment exactly. Sad but true. Just when I think, they won't dare nerf another GD thing. They nerf it.. Later on, I'm like, they won't even consider nerfing that. They nerf it... And finally I'm like, there would be too much outcry if they nerf that. They nerf it.... At this point, it seems pretty clear to me, across the board, they don't give a /[]\';.
It's the churn. Whoever gave that word to describe how Cryptic deals with it's player-base, it fits well. 6 months. You bought something? Good boy, now finish up your soup and get out. We need room for the next batch of suckers.
Part of that churn is the grind for RP and that's pretty much the only reason I started this thread or have argued at all in here. The increase in the price of RP is making it prohibitively expensive to progress at a reasonable rate and that's causing players to quit. This isn't just hyperbole because the constant loss of CCUs month after month proves it.
500к AD yesterday to get my last two levels of my twisted off-hand that would be 16 days full refinement AD spend on 2 of 140 levels...on one of 4 items (not counting artefacts)

Cmon. If you play a bit hard, you don't earn 34k a day, which is your refining max. You also get plenty of stuff that you can sell. If you pay some attention to the resources you ge,t you'll be able to grind 100k or more a day, depending on the time spent.

I agree with you. Can you imagine the massive The Knight's Watch sized wall new players will face if they want to upgrade to the end-game ranks right now. A lot of us have been around for years and have accumulated wealth to upgrade. Fresh out the noobie boat. Good luck. Who's going to spend $ks to hang out with the shiny cool kids for a game with little content and no end game? And is that # sustainable?
This is not a troll or flame, just an opinion. I'm shocked this game is still around.
I think prices for enchants will adapt in few weeks. I also hope coalescents will be obtainable in some weeks/month. Atm i farm CN and do about 10k up to 100k per run, some weeklys some dungeons on top , spending a little effort into keys for double chest. Some auctionhouse trading. Doing AD is not hat bad these days...but boring sometimes. I am not BIS and understood for now, I never will be, if i do not spend lot's of money in this game.

I was just quoting your post to reply to therealprotex to show not everyone is as unconcerned about the grind as he is.
The only reason I'm able to play is that I had 10 characters from beta that I was using for leadership. Otherwise I wouldn't have even bothered trying to get back into the game. Now even the established players are quitting left and right : \

We just had 2x enchants and there are still virtually no stacks on the AH and they've settled at 28k. The price will increase over the next few weeks if anything.
What CN are you running @ 100k in 1 run? I've not seen AD from CN higher than 25k in a run!
I'd love to see BoA used more instead of the nerfs. At least we can still progress and sell the extra for gold. Find a balance between bound and unbound RP and we'll continue to progress and make AD on the little allowed extras!

If you get 2 rank 8s (azure/radiant), a piece of salvage from each boss, and a transmute and ring in each chest it can technically be as high as 130k (with the bonus AD from VIP).
Well, we can name it lack of content, but another reason a lot people are disappearing is that we are between mods right now. Most people should have completed all the content from last mod long time ago. It did not bring much to the end game. It was a leveling up mod, altho it was good to see some of the old dungeons back. Hope they bring more to the end game next mod. That is a necessity.

Usually after a mod you see a significant spike in users too.
With all the never ending balance changes that occur, no one is going to keep the same 4 artifacts for a 3 to 5 year period either. So it's more like 8+ artifacts per character.
