Was thinking of actually buying some zen for a pack or two but no way now - have a lowly 2k trade bars but was going to make a big difference for my alts. Will keep playing given my VIP 12 but can't seem me spending any real money on this game ever again following the GMoP fiasco and now this

We're still in discussions and finalizing plans based on the community's feedback on the Trade Bar Store changes. There are a lot of moving pieces that need to be addressed in decisions like these that affect the economy as a whole.
You have got to be kidding me. Is this the BS line you are still going to cling to?

It is a virtual economy, are you scared that the economy will collapse and Valindra will take over Neverwinter? Ohhs scarrry!!!

Or are you afraid your CEO will have to settle for a vacation home in Napa instead of Marthas Vineyard.

Just be honest, you have zero intention to give us what you promised, you have zero intention to treat us like anything but money buckets for you to gut.

    Cram it.

What a load of BS...still in discussions. What is there to discuss you lied to your customers in order to make some extra cash. Own up to it give us what you said we were going to get.

THERE IS NOTHING TO DISCUSS. Put the C. Wards in the market for 75 trade bars like you said. Put in the refining stores for trade bars LIKE YOU SAID! End of discussion!
  • ^75, not 85.

Discussions? So we can expect a fix by close of business right? Surely neverwinter executives wouldn't walk out in the middle of a discussion, yes?

Discussion means someone is against it, otherwise it wouldn't be a discussion, it would be a consensus. Who is against it? Fire them. Problem solved. You want to know how putting the wards back in will effect game economy? Simple. People will spend all their bars on wards, worried that it is temporary. They will then proceed to use or horde them. The least irate of players will begin purchasing zen again, the most irate are already gone and won't come back regardless. The in between will either continue to never buy zen if that was their previous methodology, or will slowly go back to buying zen after cooling off. A negligible percentage of the playerbase that used to purchase zen will stick around, playing the game, and not purchasing zen.

As far as astral goes, the price of everything available for sale in the trade bar market except the wards and rubies will increase, the wards and rubies will decrease. Nothing else wool be affected by this correction.

That's college learnin' cryptic. You hire a few people all smart-like and stuff and you can avoid situations like this all together. Hell, I'll do it fort minimum wage. Send me a text saying "hey weevil, we are gonna screw the players like this, on a scale of 1 to c wards, how mad will they be?". I'll text you a response, you'll send me a check, disregard the only intellectual input received from an employee, and screw us anyway. Everybody wins.

Impact on the economy? GTF out, this has 0 to do with fake economic ramifications.

This has 100% to do with Cryptic/PWE wanting an entire player base to shell out $10 a pop to upgrade enchantments.

By implying that Wards and Rubies would be included in the tradebar update, going as far as to list what they would cost & giving absolutely no reason for anyone to reasonably doubt they would be included in the new tradebar store, you effectively told the entire XBox One population to go F themselves.

    Again, bravo NWXbox/Cryptic/PE.

I'm not entirely sure how this affects the economy at all. If it is such a worry that it will effect the economy, then they need to be removed from the PC version as well. If your goal is to line up the games as close as possible, then either give them to Xbox, or take them from the PC. Given they have had them awhile now and their economy seems just fine, I'm thinking your reasoning is a bit flawed. Try harder.

Effect on the economy - the PW economy only. Ultimately they need to make money on the game or NW doesn't exist but the approach seems so short termist that the players have to milked at every possible opportunity

    Hi All,

Jumping in here again. I know there are a few threads that are discussing this, but I'm hoping that I'm hitting one that is active with discussion. In terms of an official response, we're in the process of finalizing the information that we are wanting to post. When I say finalizing, I mean that it is written and waiting for the last approval before we share it. This will include a break down of what happened and what is going to happen. I know there are people that are frustrated and want information. We want you to have it as well, but need to go through the normal process of getting this information approved before posting.

Sorry for the delay, but we're hoping we can share more information either later this evening or tomorrow.

So.....As a firefighter for over 30 years I guess if I were to use your business tactics I should hold a meeting with my fellow firefighters to discuss what would be best for the economics and the community before responding to a fire. Of course this discussion would need to last for a few days. When we finally arrive on scene then I guess using your same business tactics I should tell the fire victims that we will put water on the fire for an additional $10.00 per gallon. I mean really. Who cares if they have already paid for the service in donations and taxes. Do I have that right arc/cyriptic (you don't deserve capitals).

Ohh good so do you have new procedures in place to make sure everyone signs off on every public statement you and/or your representatives make to save you from have to sneak out disclaimers on already posted info? That is progress. You have achieved LVL 3 in the CYA Profession, keep it up and you may reach Master level one day!

The one good thing out of all of this is that I now know I love MMOs. This is my first MMO ever and I have to say I really love the concept of MMOs. Does anyone have a suggestion for another MMO that is good? I can go on the PC or 360 as I don't think there are any on the Xbox One. Thanks.

Haha, wow. I only play on PC, but you poor X-Boxers really got PWE'd on this one, huh? I'm pretty sure I only continue to play this game because I love D&D so much. That wouldn't have been enough to keep me around if they rekt'd me like you guys just were.

I've got 2 accounts - one at 66 and it's taken a long time to get there because I won't spend the money to feed their greed. Since the game hit Xbox I've probably spent $40 on a "free to play" game - learned the hard way that all I'm doing is lining their pockets. I don't blame everyone posting here for how they feel - about ready to quit playing myself. Can't play heroic encounters because there aren't enough people playing anymore - they've run the player base off with their greed. They should have learned from World at Warcraft - they didn't break their players to keep them around.

That makes me want to watch a Montey Python flick.

What I don't get is if the wards are left out on purpose why is there a "WARDS" and Gems tab at the tarmalune trade bar merchant? If THERE ARE NO WARDS! You should of changed the tab to "Gems" only...But not only did you just kick US loyal Neverwinter fans in the balls, you decided to spit in are faces well.

I thought I'd post a rough transcript of what was going on in my thoughts when I logged in to Neverwinter on the day of Underdark's release.

Me: It's finally here! I can't wait to see all the new stuff!

    (notices the chat log)

Me: Why is everyone so mad? What's with all the swearing, and why is that one guy shouting "LIARS!" over and over again? It's probably nothing; just some entitled brats whining because they got the wrong sprinkles on their ice cream or something.

    (checks the trading bar shop)

Me: Cool! I finally can have life scrolls and health stones. Ooh, a Thayan Book of the Dead! I've really wanted one of those! I'm gonna need more bars. I wasn't going to buy more keys this month but, oh to Hell with it. I want a full set of Dusk armor anyway. It won't kill me to drop another $50 on this game.

    (realization dawns)

Me: Wait a second. I could have sworn something was supposed to be here.

    (3 seconds later)

    Me: RRRRRAAAAAAAGGGGEEEEE!!!!!

That, good sirs, is my customer experience in a nutshell. Just glad I realized what was going on when I did. I would be even more pissed if I actually had wasted even more money on this game.

Theyre afraid of ddos attacks because theyve concluded their "investigation" and know we wont be happy with it. Why else would it take this long? They want to make sure the servers are protected before they f us over.
