Have the Gateway leadership changes affected how much time you spend in game?

I noticed that not having leadership on gateway has meant I personally spend a lot less time playing the game now.

Some people will spend more time in game to compensate for the changes, some will end up playing less.

I log in to invoke. Until the VIP passes were announced, I used Refining bags to collect coupons, used zen bought with AD to buy stuff via coupons, sold those on the AH, then used the AD to buy more zen.

Now, I'm holding onto the zen I do have until the VIP passes drop and I can get keys.

I've always preferred the more market based aspects of the game; leadership adds a fair amount of AD, but I've never been one with a "leadership army" as it were.

I don't think this specifically has affected the time I spend in the game.

Personally, I wanted to take better advantage of the 2xXP, but life wasn't having much part of that.

I'd got into the habit of logging into gateway a few times a day, and I think that encouraged me to play the game more often. Without leadership I've found I'm not using gateway at all, and I'm definitely spending far less time in game. It's not through any protest or anything.

I don't like their approach to dealing with "bots" and their lack of foresight. You simply can't implement changes that hurt the legitimate players solely to combat bots. The proper approach is to make the game fun such that no one wants to bot and no one needs bots and certainly that no one benefits from bots. Right now there are too many things in game that are more work than real work.

What does "play in game" mean?

If it means playing as adventuring and doing non-leadership stuff, the answer is "I play less". I play less because I now wait for certain leadership tasks to finish before I can join a party or going into a mini-dungeon. I used to be able to join the party and while I was waiting in queue or waiting for the party to fill, I could also clean up leadership tasks in a browser. Without the gateway access, I need to run the leadership task in a tight schedule. i.e. I have to make sure every good quality task be finished by 8am.

If it means playing as the time spend as logging in, do leadership/waiting for leadership to finish (in (say) 2 minutes) and logging out, the answer is "I play more".

It killed my will to play as much. This is due to work all day so can not log in to game computer. So if can not earn my AD on the one toon I have cant advance and so on and so on. I only play 1 toon so very hard to find time since cant advance or make enough Ad for it

Overall time spent in game, but more on the side of actually playing rather than just invoking/doing professions and logging out.

ITs not that I play less, I have less time to play, due to the changes, you need to add that to the poll.

If you have less time to play because of the changes surely that fits under playing less?

I am more like: I am playing a character and was doing daily. Then, before I enter the mini-dungeon or joining a party. I check if there is any leadership task coming up. Then, #$#!!!, there are 5 tasks from other characters that will be finished in 5 minutes. Another 5 tasks will be finished in 10 minutes.

The end result, I probably am in game somewhere for that 10 minutes before I can play what I really want to play.
I am "playing" but not "quality playing".

It didn't change the amount of time I play - it just reduced my income since I generally have a hard time logging into the game M-W because of work. *sometimes* I can, depends on my morning schedule, but not always (and when it's a "not" it means I'm on a network connection that can't access the game).

That isn't particularly different though, was like that before this change - hence the No Change vote.

Well I just came back, the only difference it's going to make for me is that I'll spend more time in the client even for just a few minutes queueing tasks up even though its a worse ui. I'll still be running leadership on 15 toons for AD. Just now I'll be cluttering up the world server instead of the gateway when I do it. I don't bot. I do it all manually.

Basically, I've switched to longer tasks, and just refresh them when I log in. Before, I'd do more, shorter ones...

Similar to many here, my gaming time hasn't changed but my "play time" (I define as actual time spend playing the game, running dungeons, doing PVP, etc) has decreased as a larger proportion of my time online is spent refreshing professions (not the most user friendly in-game) and invoking.

While it hasn't really had an effect on the amount of time I play, like @kvet, it has reduced my income a bit, as I don't always log on to all my characters to do their professions every day. But I can live with that.

I am the 'long task' type and I only have man-at arms. So I do one leadership reset per day anyway.

Invocation changes with the Mod 6 launch did that to me already...

Before I was able to do leadership via gateway, it took 10 min for a full reset. Now I have to log in and out on each character, remember the character I loged out (bc the game cant do it) and reset professions.

Even after changing to longer tasks I lose half a hour of playtime at least.

As stated, I'm wasting time to do professions in game. Before I could just do it in work or whenever I had my smartphone. Now it's like 20 mins to invoke and do prof's while logged in.
I'm sure Cryptic has a big increase of "active" players now huh? great way to show off the charts in the boss meeting.

I spend more time in game, but less of it actually playing. I would do my professions while in queues or doing other things like watching tv. Now time I did spend playing is spent rolling leadership tasks.

But fear not my fellow adventurers! the dev's are HARD at work thinking about new ways to make the game rewarding. Soon (!!!) we will trash our Leadership armies and go play picking flowers around PE earning thousands AD by doing so o:)

^^ This exactly! Mod 6 changed the game to being no fun with all the grind, cost of advancement in the game, and gateway nerf was the straw that broke the camels back for me. I refuse to support a company who has zero respect for it's paying customers. I've cut my losses on the almost $5k spent here over the course of it's existence. The direction the game has gone no longer provides any desire to play. I pretty much only surf the forums as they validate what I feel about this game now.
