Our admin team one time didn't notice one of the servers was down for 3 days. Good thing all clusters that handle financial transactions are sized at 300% peak load, so nobody else noticed either...

<snip> The next step I imagine will be an office meeting to discuss if everyone is in agreement on the fact that the servers are indeed offline.
Why does this line make me think of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy?

That imp and pit fiend stuff got really patronizing in a hurry. While I understand that they can't and won't go into technical details, I grow weary of these silly distractions from the real issues.

The official response is that we're aware that the servers are down. Our team is working on it now. Sorry for the inconvenience. When a Moderator posts in this color text, it should be considered an official relaying of information. I do forget at times and post in my normal blue. Apologies for that.

Update 6: Server had to be put offline. Stay tuned for more info.
If the server HAD to be put offline, that implies it was done on purpose, which means there must have been a reason, and someone must know what that reason is. So. Can we get some kind of explanation? Even a general one.
I see posts getting deleted because they are in reference to a deleted topic/post.
It is a domino effect.. then posts get deleted because of referring to other deleted posts..
It won't stop until you stop! But don't, this is too much fun.
Why do people get so mad when the game goes down? Seriously, I would love a logical answer to that. It is an online game, not a medical life support system. I Love NW, but if goes down, oh well.. there are lots of other things I can do.
A lot of online service companies these days have technical development blogs where they let dev team members post technical details about the challenges they are facing. Is there such a thing for neverwinter? The only reason not to have one would be arrogance or embarrassment. If you're proud of your work, take ten minutes to tell people about it.
Update 1: Maintenance extended until 10:00am PDT (1:00pm EDT / 19:00 CEST).
Update 2: Maintenance extended until 11:00am PDT (2:00pm EDT / 20:00 CEST).
Update 3: Maintenance extended until 12:00am PDT (3:00pm EDT / 21:00 CEST).
Update 4: Almost done. Estimated time is until 12:30pm PDT
Update 5: Maintenance Complete, Pit Fiend banished.
Update 6: Server had to be put offline. Stay tuned for more info.
Ok are the servers up?? if so I cannot log in att.
i know a guy who works as a dev for neverwinter and at the moment he says they are not doing theyre best to fix it and they are pretty much doing jack squat i WILL continue posting this and lewe **** YOU :P
There are suggestion elsewhere that this is a result of deciding NOT to start the PVP event and moving the CTA up instead, due to a bug/exploit affecting TRs.
Anyone think there is any merit to this?
Is there confusion about whether the PVP event is running or not?
Waiting around for a time estimate is starting to seem counter-productive. Maybe I should start cooking dinner. I burned off a lot of calories trying to dance the servers back up, after all.
Better than sitting here doing nothing, though! Plus, I got to dance to music I haven't listened to in years.
