Yeah, I'm sure they are doing "maintenance" on new years day. My money is on the staff giving up and just going home. No way it would take them over 24 hours to get the gateway back up IF they were working on it.

Currently lost 144k AD due to inability to access Gateway while at work. This is some crappy customer service.
Considering how they deliberately b0rked professions in game with their misguided and I'm sure totally ineffective effort to combat some kind of leadership botting, gateway is the preferred method to do profs without tearing your hair out waiting for each little one to register as "done". FIX THIS NOW!!!
but srsly, its new years, aint gonna happen. do profs in game and look into hair club for men to replace the clumps you tear out.
As the other issues have been noted as resolved by staff, please post here only if you are having issues with the Gateway. Other connection issues need to be addressed in the Bug Reports section. Thanks.

Why not? It shouldn't take 2 days and with no ETA it would appear that they can't be bothered to work on it.
What should and should not happen usually has little bearing on what does and does not happen. They've acknowledged the issue, they do not need to give an ETA until such a time as they have an ETA to give, otherwise the given ETA would be irrelevant.

Oh and PS thank you for the rerports about all the systems that were down after the game servers came back online. We are aware of the myriad of issues, including the Server Down indicator and chat/mail/exchange/foundry issues We hope to have these all back up and running asap once all our staff returns from the holiday break! I think the reason there is no ETA is because they aren't working on it. They do need to give an ETA, that is the proper way to communicate with your customers. If they aren't working on it then they can at least say no earlier than Monday so folks don't have to bother checking.
The people that have the knowledge to fix/reset the gateway are probably enjoying their vacation. So even though it's annoying for us, they need a break.
I see a chance in it being fixed tomorrow since Friday is a normal workday... but who knows.
Wish we had a collect all button for in game professions, it could almost take as much time as in gateway collect one by one, Happy new year every one, great job staff for this year, wish you joy, creativity and prosperity all year long, may this year be less about tech support and more about what you guys want to innovate!!
Give them a break guys, they were probably working on getting the game back up for us during the countdown and New Years. It's not like they took the game down on purpose and wanting to stay back to get it back up.
If you can't use gateway, then simply log onto the game to do your professions. It'll take you a few minutes longer to earn your free AD.
Have the gear and skills, but lack the friends to play with? Come and apply for Essence of Aggression. We have been here and strong since beta. (Immature, rude, and arrogant people will not be accepted)
Except it won't take a few minutes thanks to the continuing log in issues, timeouts and unresponsive server.
A few hours might be optimistic but a few days is more realistic.
Except you are the only one on the forum that is having issues that bad. (maybe 1 or 2 others) When it was actually the server it was everyone and we had 5 pages of posts about it in minutes after it went down. This means it's not the server. It's either you, your isp, or a router your isp is putting you thru on the way to the server. You've been told to go to the stickies on lag and disconnecting to try to figure out where your problem actually is. Until you do this there is nothing anyone can even try to do to help you.
Ummmm, how about they worked their butts off on NEW YEARS EVE to get the game playable again, AND they didn't even worry about them making money first like a normal business would.... they just got it up! ...
That is all fine, but then post an update saying the ETA is Monday. The last post implied they were still working on it. It's called communication.

Because they're not working on it. They got the game and chat going and went to be with their families. It's annoying for players, but understandable.
I base the thought that they aren't working on it from this dev post from sto, since it's the same server, it's probably a lot of the same people.
