This is old problem with countless threads about it. It is here since game launch - first time it became irritating was on game going from beta to live event (e.g. velandra attacking protector enclave)
So far the most common thing between all players reporting issue is using SSD ...

No, it really isn't. It happens to plenty of people using spinning rusty glass, too.

While lag was a big problem in the invasion event, textures taking ages to render is a relatively new issue. It was a bit bad with ToD and has reached ludicrous levels with RoT.

I have this on loading an area, or (oddly) after talking to a shopkeeper - even
though the whole area had already loaded. It's not all white tho, but it is in huge blocks
    for a bit.

On my faster machines, it has been happening since beta, at least.

For the last week or two, textures have at times been extremely slow to load. This impacts the game environment as well as the UI (e.g. inventory, character sheet).

This was not an issue for the year or so I have played the game (same hardware) until a recent patch.

When this happens, it takes many seconds to a few minutes to resolve. It makes challenging areas like Tiamat nearly unplayable.

    Some examples are attached.

Well its truly..foreverwinter for you it seems! Ive had the same issue but not that bad at all. My inventory would sometimes not load and it would have a outline of all the color based items just like yours.

It's been happening since Mod 5 dropped. Well to go back in time some more, it was happening in Mod 3 for me, then in Mod 4 it was fixed for and now broken again. Maybe Mod 6 will fix it. Rinse and repeat..

Not to mention since the patch last Thursday, Tiamat has been going back to FPS loss after I had some working settings. Wish they would get their game straightened out.

I've been having this issue too, and it's getting worse and worse by the day. But it isn't just inventory items for me, it's everything, icons above characters heads, the red circles in the ground indicating an attack, the icons in my toolbar, my feats, character powers, everything. It all just appears as different colored rectangles

My experience with it, is that it only happens if my system is bogging down on something. Try defrag, making sure background stuff is closed, etc etc etc.

I think from talking to people that have had this issue that there are actually two issues, one where the users system bogs down and takes longer to load textures, and one that is caused from some bug. So this may or may not help you what so ever.

I tried this and it does work, but it isn't useful when It happens when I am in combat. Also, the worst side affect of this is when you are at low health, and the edges of the screen normally goes red, the whole screen goes red for me instead, and starts pulsing. It remains like this until I no longer have low health - In other words, unless I can pop a potion and heal myself, I'm dead if I I have low life. This is a major issue, and it's apparently been around a while, and there's still no fix? This is more important then a new mod imo, please fix it...

I never have texture issues in combat, but I do get weirdness with graphics ever since Mod 5. Often after relogging or a cutscene, but just as often at completely random times when I'm not doing anything, the textures all just drop (for lack of a better term) and everything becomes flat polygons. Literally everything -- characters, buildings, floors, etc. The basic colors are usually preserved, but all objects become featureless blobs of polygons. The textures slowly load back in and it goes back to normal within 20-90 seconds. I joke about it (it's like the game goes "why hello there little adventurer! Were you enjoying your nice views of Twilight Tor just now? Well TOO BAD, HAVE SOME POLYGONS LOL"), but it's really jarring when it happens.

Overall the game has been running better than ever and almost lag-free since Mod 5 went live, so I hesitate to blame it on my computer, especially since whenever I ask "hey does anyone else have the game randomly go LOLPOLYGONS everywhere for no reason?" the answer is always yes.

I am also experiencing this far worse than ever before. I even turned my graphics down from max to low and it seemed to be worse at low (but I cannot say for certain if it was worse or just my perception of it was that it was worse). I mean everything can be fine and am running around and suddenly half the zone textures vanish (turn 180 degrees in another way and those are there but back around and they are vanished/blurred/etc). Also trying to swap powers half the time the icon is invisible when in drag mode making it very problematic to change. Inventory icons will go from fine to suddenly black or blank or distorted/blurred etc. My system is a gaming rig I custom built myself with more than adequate cooling/memory/graphics/cpu. My drives are SSD with plenty of free space.

You have the problem with the invisible power/item icons too? I thought I was the only one... It's a HUGE pain, and I can't even begin to elaborate on how annoying it is.

Yeah it is impossible for me to swap powers in tiamat fight. I have to pick the most effective and stick with them. Also happens when trying to place an item in AH or look up an item price (get the discard message often).

same thing happens to me, but you know you can still swap powers by right-clicking them and selecting which power to replace from power tray.

Being a creature of habit I have not conditioned myself efficiently enough to do this with any sort of proficiency. I guess it may be time to train the muscle memory a bit.

I had that happen twice two days ago while moving stuff out of my overflow bag on two separate characters, but haven't seen it again yet.

I have been having ALL of the issues that people have been posting: icons for inventory items loading slowly, merchant items loading slowly, the block textures all over the place, having no idea where dragons are lol, etc. After several weeks of frustration, and trying to get used to it, I decided on a whim to see if I was the only one having this issue. Obviously not!!

Your solution of moving the character texture detail and world texture detail sliders down to 75% from whatever your preset value is, under the "advanced" tab ABSOLUTELY solved this problem for me. I have NEVER seen a dragon fight the way it was intended. Right after adjusting those settings I did the five heralds of Tiamat in WoD and WOW! Absolutely zero texture issues! Wish I'd found this post a month ago.

If you're having texture issues in the game, I HIGHLY recommend you change those two settings before beating your head against a wall and/or spending money to replace things that aren't broken.

This 75% setting worked for me too. It's still there but mitigated to the point it doesn't ever bother me.

I have a GForce 750 which I got because it was recommended for this game, actually. I've been experiencing all of the things described by others pretty consistently, and agree it has gotten worse. I tried changing settings, etc. but it made no difference. These issues, combined with the still not muted DC spells that blind and lag can make Tiamat interesting to say the least.

I can confirm that turning the character texture detail and world texture detail sliders down to 100% ( down from 200% ) almost entirely solved my texture problems. It's now at the level where it does not bother me at all.
When I enter the character selection screen now it loads my character fully texturized. Before, it loaded a naked model, and then it loaded the items ( armor, weapon ).
When I enter PE I se absolutely no texture loading. From the first second it displays I see everything clear.
The inventory and UI screens now always load, there are no more missing pieces.

The only time I see textures not loading fast enough is when a distant object comes into view and I can actually see it before it is fully rendered, or when I turn my camera around very fast. But even these are just fractions of a second, and they all fully load.

Every other setting for me is maxed out.

I did not touch the multi-core setting, it is still on, and for me at least it seams that it should be.

    My build is:

    i7 5820k
    16gb DDR4
    Nvidia GTX 980
    SSD Intel 520
    Win 7 64bit

I'm really getting sick of seeing these textures when I do anything, or lack thereof. I can barely play the game, it's getting progressively worse no matter what settings I have. Some days, it's bad enough to the point where I have to shut off Neverwinter and play Tera because there's no point in playing when I can't even see the **** ground. This issue STILL exists in Module 6 on the preview server. I think that this issue should have TOP priority, over the release of everything in mod 6, new content included. Even if that meant that the TR would reign in PVP for another 6 months while they tried to fix this, it would be so very worth it in my opinion.

This game is practically unplayable for many players due to this bug

    Fix it. Please.

    +1 this

it is sad that I can play farcry 4 at max and GTA5 at max and yet I have to adjust my shadows so MC isnt running like a narcoleptic powerpoint presentation It seem like the devs are thinking of new ways to milk us for microtransactions instead of making a decent product

I agree the game should try to make money but no one wants to buy extra pickles and lettuce for shart sandwich
