Here are my thoughts regarding the Anniversary event:
1. I love that they offered armor transmutes. I hope we see more of these in the future. I would like to see some way of earning unbound versions of the armor, so I could potentially give them to future characters I may make.
2. The fashion sets were great as well; I would have preferred an actual hat or hood, instead of another circlet/crown, though. These being BoE is a huge boon, IMO.
3. I love that we can earn the companion via the daily currency; It provides a goal to work toward, which anyone can attain.
4. Trying new stuff - having a "stationary cosmetic mount" was an interesting approach. I'm glad the devs are trying new things. I think having it as an item or special emote would have been a better implementation, however.
5. The randomness of which groups you fought during the skirmish helped lessen the tedium of running it multiple times. I'd like to see this approach used more in future content.
6. Protector's Garden - I like the idea of an exclusive area as part of the celebration. One important amenity is bank access, however - please either add a bank contact (guild & personal) to this area, or include it with any future such locations. A PvP vendor would also be nice.
7. Special emote - not my cup of tea, but variety of rewards is great, so this is a "thumbs up" in my book.
8. With all the cosmetic stuff offered, we really need a way of previewing things - I would have liked to see you make use of the mannequins and have them dressed in and labelled as whatever parts they are displaying - like one called "Waterdhavian Fashion" or something.
Any other thoughts or insights? Feel free to contribute! Let's keep things constructive, please.
Thanks!

I really liked the event , I thought that the drop rate was abysmal as usual although I did get one Entertainer so I can't complain .
I like the Throne and got one but I gave the transmute items a miss due to the fact I just spent over 150k transmuting my HV set just before I knew about the event plus I prefer my current look to the transmute armor but I like the idea and hope they do it for future events.
I also like the garden and I really like the Elminsters lunch boxes , quite good value for 150 reknown each , I even got a load of Grand summer feasts from them so yeah , overall not bad at all.
Oh and yes I totally agree , adding a bound version of the companion to the store is definitely a winner of an idea.
Edit - One other thing , the Elminster lunchboxes have to be purchased one at a time ,please add a slider for items like this to future vendors , a minor annoyance but one that doesn't need to be there in future.

I am suuuuper happy with this event. I'm glad to see they implemented the whole "buy BoP with credits earned via the event" and making the drops from skirmishes BoE. The range of items you can win is pretty great and the quality of them is awesome! The pricing is also very fair, in my opinion. Challenging, but not overwhelmingly challenging to make someone give up hope before even trying. The only complaint I could possibly have is that it's only 1 week, and my job has me working long hours, so it's a right squeeze to work to get my throne (only 800 more points, go us!), but I imagine that extending the event would have impacted the prices of the rewards and/or upset the balance, so I understand.
More events like this in the future, please! 4.5/5 stars

I did not like this event.
The two "errand" quests that send you in low level zones are just time-wasters that offer nothing interesting to do.
The skirmish itself can be mildly interesting at first because of the bonus, however, making it a time-attack favors even more the AoE nuke dps metagame without offering any real strategic insight to teamplay. But this is a problem with all skirmishes I guess.
The rewards... they all seem underwhelming. And I cannot bring myself to do this skirmish more than 3 times (for permanent access, and after I got it, I realized it was pointless) for some transmutes, an emote and a fake mount.
I wonder what's the reason for making you farm over and over and over the same skirmish for so little. Since there is no way to speed up this grind with Zen purchase, what does Cryptic or PWE gain out of it? They enjoy watching you farm? =/

Oh, but the Fedexes are foreshadowing for Mod 4, if you're paying attention in the slightest.
Pros.
1. Storyline changing daily and during skirmish kept it from getting stale.
2. Companion and fashion items were decent. Also some of the stuff you get from the lunchbox item.
3. It was quick to run through.
Cons.
1. Level disparity was a cause of much contention in the skirmish. You can't get where you need to go sub level 20 with no mount which is a big deal in a timed mission. Also with fewer/weaker powers and feats some of the mobs were hard to do on lower level characters. CAusing higher level accts to ridicule or boot lower level guys.
2. Beachcomber mission.
3. I had serious performance issues during skirmish. Protectors enclave seems to make my PC run slow anyways, and that effect was multiplied when attacking mobs in PE.
4. The dread ring mission bug for lower level players. How can you get the missions if you cant do Dread Ring yet ?
Overall I liked it. Seems like it is building up to something , which will be interesting. If the prizes were better i would have ground more, but no reason to kill myself for a stationary mount or the ability to juggle. I got my fashion items and companion and keys on four characters doing mostly just the dailies which is good enough for me.
7 out of 10 stars.

I picked up the Protector's Garden key and fashion set (excluding head accessory) for each of my characters. I got lucky for a change and got a companion as a reward on my second skirmish, although I didn't particularly want one.
It was fairly quick as easy to do and prices on items were decent enough that it wasn't a horrible grind obtaining them compared to the winter festival for example.
The variety of the basic fetch quests made them much less of a drag as did the somewhat random nature of the skirmish. It's probably my most played skirmish of any event.

Really good armors transmute and fashion, worth my grinding. Liked the emotion Juggle, but a little overpriced.
I do not understand the 'fun' of Throne of the Lion. Could be interesting to use it as a new emote /sit.
new emote, armor transmute, new fashion, companion, I think these are very nice prizes, I'm very happy with the event.
Not too fond of the throne, I don't think it's worth it, but I guess to each their own.
The skirmish was fun, if a bit laggy, my fps went down severely when playing it.

Does anyone know what the little square gold things which are dropping on the ground, are? I'm thinking tickets, but do not know where to check.

That's from a hunter ranger - it's a supply cache thingy that their marked targets will drop. If you are injured, running over one will heal you and your teammates.

Interesting. I had no idea. When I try to use the ticket that I bought, I get the message "You cannot equip any more of these."
Overall one of the better events imo. I enjoyed the skirmish much more than most other event fights. Love the throne. The variety of awards and how you could earn them through grinding was great.
Only event I liked better was Respen's Game just because it was so fitting for D&D.
This event wasn't as awesome as the Midsummer and Winter fests but the permanent Garden (hopefully permanent) will make up for it. Maybe next year you can give this fest it's own map with lots of rides and cotton candy, maybe make a dunk tank with the King and Knox in the hot seat.

Oh wait... maybe we're talking about something different. The HR thing I was talking about appears on the ground and gets used when you walk over it. I'm not sure about the item you are referring to. Is this something in your inventory? If so, what's the exact name of said item?

The square thingies are the Ranger's supply drops....the ticket is most likely the Garden Key thinking it was one of these drops....which does nothing when ya click on it.

I agree with everything you said Bioshrike.
One thing I would add though is the Garden Keys...
I'm not sure how they work. I bought a key but it can't seem to be used/consumed.
So I would appreciate it being a bit clearer in how something like that is intended to function in future events...
And I am also dreading having to keep the key in my inventory indefinitely...afterall I already made a thread about being tired of getting more and more useless inventory clutter as more and more events are added.
And I am also dreading having to keep the key in my inventory indefinitely
Apparently the key is consumed when you enter the garden after the event so whatever character has the key will enter the garden and the key will poof out of existence .

Which then begs the question...is that per character or account...
I'm operating under the assumption that each character will have to use a key which is then consumed to get access to the garden. So I farmed one key on each character. I've also gotten two thirds of the way on farming three more keys in case I ever make any more characters.
As far as the event goes, I think this is one of the best. Loved that enemies that aren't so overused like the Nashers and the Dead Rats. Seeing some of the lair bosses again was a treat. I love the randomization, the fact that you aren't tied to the RNG if you want a specific item for your own use (rare drops for BOE items are fine) and the garden is going to make it easier to manage my character's inventory, none of whom are prayer/leadership bots. I do with they'd added a direct gate to the garden from the world map though. No cutscenes this time, so hopefully the devs will keep that the same for future events.
The fetch quests go quickly enough to not be so annoying, though of course beachcombing is so hit or miss. I would have preferred it if the enemies that you have to fight were leveled especially since most of those quests were in really low level zones. Completing a quest objective by one-shotting an entire group of mobs with an at-will is anti-climatic especially when at least one quest in the Tower District did feature leveled wererats.
But all things considered, I'd rank this one slightly below the Summer/Winter festivals and just above Halloween (should have had a skirmish or something) and Respens (the joke wore thin for me).

Elminster explains it perfectly.
. . . When the event is over, when you first enter the garden with a character who has the key, the key will be consumed and that character will be granted permanent access to the Garden. You have to wait till the event is over for the key to be used and permanent access granted.
Which then begs the question...is that per character or account...
So very unclear. :S
Well before I read this thread I assumed that we would keep the key as a permanent item and be able to trade it between whatever character you were playing so they could get in but yeah these guys all say it'll be consumed lol , I just parked all my prayer alts in the garden anyway so they will be in there even though they have no key xD
Just realised that in the news it says that the event will be over today in couple hours, but ingame it says still one more day.Which is correct?
And on the topic i like the event very much, nice skirmish(not so boring), rewards are ok, i dont much care about transmutes in general, but garden and rest of the stuff is great.
