The one character I have that got the pants last event, wears them with a Courtesan top (both dyed with Lliira pack). It works pretty well, actually.

Me, I'm pleased about the change for the pantaloons and cloaks to be BoE, because last time I got 6 pants on a character trying for enough coins for a weapon transmute and coins enough to buy the world's ugliest disproportionate dagger skin but no pants on the guy I wanted them on. Which means that as more of them flood the AH, I can just bloody well buy what I want.

    +1

Are the weapons BtA as well?

Yeah they really don't want people farming these... Unfortunately, people isn't what they should be worried about, it's bots. The "2 purses a minute" thing is perfect for stopping a human from farming them but it does very little to deter bots...

With the big decrease in the purse/box contents, this one will be far less lucrative than the last, unless you're running bots, of course.

I'm only interested in adding the transmute gear to my collection the rest, including AD is all gravy.

Instead of farming the "event" perhaps it should be treated for what it is, a bonus to normal gameplay. I haven't noticed any reduction in drop rate on the bags, I get one about every 5-10 mobs or around a 10% drop rate. The rewards inside however, have surely been adjusted. Which is fine, I don't "farm" anyway, as I suggest, I treat this event for what it is... a bonus to my normal gameplay.

I remember this event from last summer,

I was new to the game back then, and had worked my way up to a whopping 8,000 gear score, and I was happy, I thought I was just uber.

Well this event came along and I used to do a lot of foundries back then and run a lot of events for AD. This left me with a good 150k AD at the time. I used that AD to buy a bunch of gear that first got me to 8600 gear score to make the minimum for the dungeons.

Then eventually worked it up to 9000, and eventually a 10k gear score and I was just feeling so uber at the time. Course there were no Boons or Artifacts back then and Sharandar had not come out yet.

I do not understand why someone would complain about the original event I personally went through last summer, while its true I got a lot of AD... at the time it really helped a newbie get up to specs for the gear score of the time period.

These types of things tend to boost new players, or perhaps thats the problem is that they don't boost Older established players.

I think this new version may be going in the wrong direction.

Indeed, that is what it was meant to be, perhaps they should've been more careful with this sort of events the first time around... When these were first released the economy was heavily inflated by bots and players, this time around, it will mainly be the bots. Of course the level of fluctuation will be greatly reduced from now on.

In the end, it's the currency farmers who will profit from this, not the players and (to a lesser extent) not Cryptic.

Yes the transmute weapons are Bound to Account although they say "Bind on Pickup" in the store tool tip.

Yeah, I can confirm this as well. I nabbed a couple items I didn't get last event and they are indeed now Bind to Account on Pickup. I don't know if they bind to the character on equip however, as I am storing them. The Pantaloons and Golden Cloak of Waukeen are probably still Bind on Pickup however, but I do not know. I hope they are Bind to Account on Pickup too though.

Really liking the stuff. As said, AD nerf is not affecting me too much and it really hurts nobody to make the transmutes BtA/BoE. I like to stash them away for later use, because most of the time I have not made up my mind who should get them.

They're BoE, which means I can finally just buy the danged pantaloons.

BtA stuff stays in that form when equipped (because it's already as bound so you get no item-will-be-bound confirmation), but if you use a transmute (weapon or neck), it's most likely going be applied to an item you've previously equipped thus will be character-bound (so ship it around for collecting purposes first if you're gonna).

I don't know what would happen if you applied a BtA transmute to an unbound item, if they've taken that possibility into account or not. I'd assume it would bind to the character holding it unless they've specifically coded it not to, which would have to be tested.

When you transmute something, it binds to the character.

Yeah, I didn't really think they'd have implemented a BtA transmute that stayed BtA until equipped. A little too complicated.

I realize now, reading through the thread again, that I should have specified this was on a female character. I can't vouch for how it'd look with the male version. :/

If you use something like the cleric or helmite dye pack on the pants, the sheen isn't as noticeable, so it's a bit easier to match w/ something else. I've also seen people use the jester top as a match w/ the pants...

I spent quite a bit of time gathering purses, bought two of the 64/per treasure chests and got in total..22k AD. Now, if the max of the middle chest is 60k, and the max of the biggest one is 256k..you would think the bigger ones would at LEAST give the max of the smaller. Otherwise whats the point of combining? So yeah, why even bother with these junky purses. The time I spent farming them I could have made 20x as much.

Some reduction was in order, as the last time was a little OTT. ;)
I feel though, its maybe a bit too heavy hand with the nerf hammer guys.
1 coin in two days , only 7k RAD three times.
Looks like I wont be opening any boxes this time. :(

    .

Terrible idea making the weapon transmutes coins only. I've not had a single coin drop from any purse, strongbox or chest.
If they wanted to do that, they should have had a single coin at least drop everytime you opened a purse, strongbox or chest
and increased the amount needed to get these transmutes by a small amount.

At this rate, hardly anyone will have enough coins to use, very disappointing. :(

For me the Waukeen event was about farming dragon eggs and buying more cheap...

Dragon eggs are a good indicator how much loot quality has been nerfed now:

During the first Waukeen event price for dragon eggs dropped to below 20K, now it dropped from around 50K to 45K.

while the loot during first Waukeen event was op, this time it's just not worth it.
Seems to be a general pattern for Cryptic: It's either 1 or 0, op or useless.

Does anyone know if the purse you can exchange for xvim belt can be found in Waukeen's coin purse? Thanks

No. The halfing says specifically that it's from the chest.

Yeah not impressed this time around. Last time helped me gear up my chars nicely when my CW got lucky and pulled the 256k RAD award from a chest, although stuff wasn't as inflated then as it is now anyway. Now it's not even going to be a help to my lesser-geared chars. :P

Also so far I've only managed to get pants. Cute they're BoE now, but I never wear the ones I already have from the first time. Ever. >_>

I guess I can put them on my halfling since the terrible scaling Cryptic uses on outfits keeps her from using anything with a skirt since the skirt doesn't scale worth a **** and just juts into the ground.
