I also think it's due to the release of the XBox side. I have 11 toons and only 6 of those have level 20 leadership so I'm not out of a lotta AD. Funny how coincidences happen some time. . .
You say you can access the gateway, but can you actually use it.
And as far as posting constructively in already existing threads, been doing that for the past few months on test concerning changes in the game. Has done absolutely no good. Bugs still are not fixed, errors are still going live in 4 days. Posts are getting deleted and hidden in the "Lower depths" instead of being passed on to the dev crew. Just like this one will be.
So yeah, been there, done that. Where constructive information fails, maybe spam will succeed.
well not "all of us" claim the gateway software isn't running. I for one can access the gateway, be it via a very unsecure method. So instead of making useless threads like this with accusations of which you know absolutely nothing, try to be constructive in the already existing thread..
Instead of assuming he is wrong and attacking him... he/she has every right to post their complaint. And he did use the magic word "Please" in his post, no need to go on the flame path.
It's not working, it's a slug, having to hit F5 every button click is NOT what I consider a functional website.
There are plenty of threads 20 pages long on this topic already.
30 pages on this thread and I still can't find any REAL OWNERSHIP from the Devs that shows any sign of some positive light at the end of the tunnel on this topic. It's SO easy to squelch an up-roar of unhappy customers..... JUST SAY SOMETHING GIVE US A BONE?

I can confirm the 30 second packet hiccups on my end as well. It's sometimes even more frequent.
What I really think is wrong:
yes, seems to be the cable guy Now seriously, reading the data from tracert is clear that is a bandwidth problem, coincidentally the servers atlas.cogentco are from Cogent Comunnication. They are the isp of many other well know mmo's like WoW, LoL,etc. They a have a long history of causing lagspikes in those games too. You can search in google about it
I sometime can log in, usually takes 3 attempts. I sometime can select a toon, usually times out. I can not craft or do an SCA. Please fix. Love the game and really like Gateway when its working.

My ISP is not and has never been part of Cogent, so that is not the current issue at all. However, you are correct in your assessment of past issues related to Cogent for some players.

In fact I don't feel any regret for the game at all." looomis said, "I don't like people changing to alts and then bragging about their mains like schizophrenic role players."
Well it's definitely a network load issue. Guess what ? I have the day off and got up early and decided to set up my tasks while having my morning coffee, that was around 7-8am GMT. At this time very few people play since it's rather late in the US and too early for Europe.
And the Gateway worked at this time, a bit slower than usual, but without the constant disconnects and timeouts that we see around prime time.
Are Xbox players DLing their client over the Cryptic network ? Then the initial stress will ofc buckle the bandwidth and it will get better over the coming week. In the meantime the customers get the "we are working on it" line, when it reality it was an economic decision by the suits in charge to not have extra bandwidth for the initial rush, so that they can cut down on costs and the fix for the whole mess is called "wait til it fixes itself".
I could not get gateway to work effectively at 4:15am Central Time (US). I was able to logon, but that was it. It timed-out when I attempted to select a character. Most of the time, I can't even login.

Been unusable for 5 days. Dropping packets every ~15 seconds and very slow response times. Did they fire the network staff or are they busy with xbox? The certificate error was frustrating enough.

With a lot of patience and reloading I could set my tasks for the day. SCA is still unplayable.
Another quick update, our gateway game servers are handling the load ok according to diagnostics. We will be rechecking for some networking issues tonight/tomorrow.
...says someone who obviously doesnt try to load the Gateway. This response is insulting, NW's continued silence on this issue is insulting. Instead of saying, "We are aware there is a problem" you give us wet toast.
Play Neverwinter because absentee Devs made a fun game, not for the customer service. Sincerely, your customer service is Comcast bad.
3% consistent packet loss and that is just on a ping. Not sending website data.
Ping statistics for 208.95.185.59:
Packets: Sent = 1851, Received = 1780, Lost = 71 (3% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 95ms, Maximum = 108ms, Average = 96ms

pinging may not be the best way to show downtime (not saying it's working as it's not) but they may block the ping request on the network. I've noticed while inside the GW the app sends itsself a io request to see if you're alive / logged in else where.. and then logs you out if so / not.. which if there wouldn't be horrendous lag.. it'd be fine, but it prevents actual valid requests while it finishes.. refreshing the page kills that request which is usually why it loads after that.. I also am curious if there is some type of Rate Limiting in place that makes it so some times we get on .. but then other times we're just flat out blocked. *shrugs..
only a few more hrs till I won't need the GW till Monday ;P and then Mod 6.. and then.. and then.. (well.. who knows lol)

Ping isn't great but its something you can do remotely. When we have no knowledge of their internal infrastructure. If ping was blocked it wouldn't ever respond. A dropped ping every 30tries is a sign of a problem. Maybe a misconfigured load balancer, occasionally forwarding to a bad ip or downed server, who knows.
I'm getting the old expired certificate message from that link.

Even if you were to get the Russian Gateway working, you won't see your Dragon shard characters as the Russian Gateway is for the Drider (Russian) Server.

Ah, yes. I think that was the message I got, but could not read all but a few words. I should have known that before I blindly bypassed the outdated security certificate. I think I was just desperate for gateway!

Carefully optimistic....it's getting better now, at least for me. In the last hour I had way less timeouts or dcs.
I sort of feel like posting is a bit pointless, as the powers that be hopefully realize that this is still an issue for (I think) everyone? However yeah, I still can't connect to the gateway in any meaningful way. I stop at character select, or sometimes when I'm trying to complete a task or whatever. The point being that while I can occasionally connect, it's still not usable.
I really enjoy using many of the gateway features rather than the in game features, and hope to see this returned to a functional level soon. Thank you!

...says someone who obviously doesnt try to load the Gateway. This response is insulting, NW's continued silence on this issue is insulting. Instead of saying, "We are aware there is a problem" you give us wet toast.
Play Neverwinter because absentee Devs made a fun game, not for the customer service. Sincerely, your customer service is Comcast bad.
Log in remotely and deal with it myself.
Call my IT employee and ask them to fix that ****.

Ah, yes. I think that was the message I got, but could not read all but a few words. I should have known that before I blindly bypassed the outdated security certificate. I think I was just desperate for gateway!

I really enjoy using many of the gateway features rather than the in game features, and hope to see this returned to a functional level soon. Thank you!
Safe travels,
