That article only mentions what you posted as a possible origin of the term. It goes on to describe rapier use and fencing... Anyway, the large domed shield the swashbucker has is definitely NOT a buckler. The wild hunt rider companion has what I'd consider a buckler...

I haven't seen the companion yet. I was erroneously assuming that it would have a Buckler.
    My bad.

NP. :) The Wild Hunt Rider has a 1-handed spear and a tiny little buckler shield. He's a pretty good tank, too - only either his regular power doesn't work currently, or it doesn't animate - as once he uses his leap attack to get close to the enemy, he just stands there...

Second run while on a level 7 HR.

Since then I have done dozens of runs on my 60s with zero drops. If you absolutely must have it they are not too expensive on the AH.

got my 1st one on my 6th run after the servers came back up. Took a break to do dread ring stuff, after did 3 more runs and got my 2nd one on the 2nd run. And the got my 3rd one today after about 4 runs. The RNG is being really really nice to me this time around.

Not sure how many runs so far, but I have the two GF transmutes and working on 500. So far I have a little over 240 medallions and still no companion... gonna grind the SCA for my other toons.

I think wild hunt rider is amazing companion for encounter based classes (like CW), mine procs all the time.

Are you saying you actually see his regular spear attack animate, or that you see damage numbers appear above the enemy's head? His leap attack definitely animates, but his regular ones does not appear to go off, when I've used him recently, (mine is at level 20 and I've tried all 3 costumes to see if that made a difference - it didn't).

lucky :P im kinda broke and sorta new to 60 (3 weeks in)
and im always low on AD. soo worked the trade chat a bit:
Sold my Swashbuckler for 60 gold ( figured it was a bit low since i got like 10 pm's)
but since I got it for little effort I sold it. Sold about 100 cruel enchants for another 50 gold. (mostly rank 1's)
    then.....
Bought 3 vorpal shards for 105 gold (awesome)

sold on AH for 1k undercut for cheapest (wanted to move fast)

came up to someone used 74k BIN, that goes to 66800 profit AD. reached my first 100k AD, and
that's how i escaped poverty. Now to resist the urge to blow it on key's lol

    Is the companion even usable?
    200 point (or even 200% ) for 5 minutes?
    Maybe for a Gwf/Gf.

I walked in to the CTA a day late (had to work the first day) on my DC and picked up the swash on my very first run.
Maybe it's the game's way of apologizing for frustrating me to no end in Waukeen's event and the last CTA (not a single wolf after over 100 runs in that one).

. . . I didn't start until after the fix for the lag. I played my main 3 times and then I started going through all my characters. When I got to the third one, I got a Swashbucker. :) So, 5th run for me.

Someone know how his active bonus work? Seens to have some tipo in the description, because whats the use for 200% critical chance? And I dont see any buff icon in my portrait after getting critically hit.

I actually don't think it's a very good bonus. My understanding is you're not all that likely to get critted in PvE, but companion bonuses don't exist in PvP.

My level 14 (now 20) CW took 10 tries to get his Swashy ... my 46 (now 47) TR took 3.

I'd stick with the healer as a melee character, but the Swashy has been quite useful for my CW.

So far enough to get the Paired Weapons and Peg Leg for one character and another, maybe, dozen on a second character (a LvL 44 Rogue and a LvL 60 GF) and still no luck. Anyone know if there is a chance to get the Swashbuckler from the last chest in the Sword Coast Adventures?

It doesn't say there is, just medallions.

10+ Runs thus far & only a cple of dyes to show for it, not really too fussed this time tbh.

Yeah its always nice to grab a few things from these events but they are so over farmed now that even in a few months time i will pick one up for 100k etc in the AH so no biggy.
