    Four? I only downloaded 2hours 10mins worth. Where is the rest?

    Wow thanks for the kind words thus far, glad you folks enjoyed it!

    As for the show's length, it is "only" 2:10 folks! We recorded "extra show" to ensure that we'd have plenty of good conversation to fill the two hour goal. Heck, we got more than we bargained for, it was that enjoyable of a chat.

    Hmm, I do have some bloopers but um... who'd want to hear that!? ;) Hehehe

    Interesting first show, but really… the intro is about ten to forty times longer than it needs to be and with the cast being over two hours run time, you could have easily made it two podcast.

    Other observations; the lockbox segment sounded more than a little ranty and you need a to work on sounding a bit more natural instead of like you’re reading a script, still... this has a lot of potential even considering that you are going to have stiff competition with the Neverwinter Nights Podcast (who are in the process of refitting their show to feature Neverwinter) and Jupiter Broadcasting upcoming Neverwinter show because of their strong ties with Cryptic staff, but I think you can still find your niche with a bit of refinement.

    Haha, yes, the Saturday Night Live bit and live Mississippi Queen song was a one time only intro, designed to get the old timers rockin, and teach the youngsters how its done! ;) We'll be shaving the intro quite a bit in the next episode.

    As for competition, naah, the Neverwinter Nights Podcast and Jupiter Broadcasting shows will be friends of the show, and vice versa. We are all in the same boat, we do it for our NWO community.

    Thank you however for stating the show has potential. From you, I'll take that as fairly high praise. You've made some good points I'll take into consideration when we do our next show. You are free to join us if you wish Stormdragon, along with Mr Grumpy Paws... ;)

    Thanks Ryvvik. It was a blast.

    Intro was a play off of the Saturday Night Live "Cowbell" bit, with a killer live rendition of Mississippi Queen...

    Non-rockers need not worry, no more cowbell intro in Episode 2!

    Btw, glad to hear that cryptic team is paying attention to community feedback and that is actually been incorporated in to the game.

    Sorry Gill. I have been flat out with work these last few days. I read the following:
    It was such a fun time talking to forum moderators, Truthseeker and Ambisinister. We spoke for almost four hours, shooting the breeze, discussing everything about Neverwinter we could think of, and of course, I did not shy away from asking any of my prepared questions! ;)


    and I just assumed it was 4 hours long. I haven't actually had time to download it yet, let alone have any time to listen :(

    Well, after hearing it, I feel it needs more cowbell :D

    Nice first episode, but yeah, I'm banking on a shorter intro too. Way too long an opening.

    (proactive apologies sometimes didn't hear others and sounds like I'm ignoring people)

    After all, it was 6 minutes before the show format really started! Guessing you'd do the statement, and an immediate segway to Mississippi Queen. I'd recommend to a song clip to about a 20-30 sec length at most (and 10-15 would work fine.)

    Gee, there were so many mic failures, we have enough for our own blooper reel Great Editing Aaandre!

    I swear all of our user feedback is shaping this game a lot and it's so cool.

    Lockbox thread? Rot in he....why yes, why would you think I was relieved about that thread closing? ;)

    Oh, the Japanese "lockbox" thing where you get rare items and have to collect a group of rare things for a super powered item called "kompu gacha" or "complete gotcha" which was ruled illegal in Japan can be read at the link I just provided. (Absolutely not stating any lockbox opinion here just offering informative information.)


    PvP, still in the dark.

    Multiclassing, really Hybrid in 4th ed just didn't port in the MMO for release.
    And the Nostalgia of the past makes it look nicer for older games, and we're going to make a great culture even if we are so new so now.



    And in the Foundry with the amazing content, I welcome our NWN conquering overlords and Masters :)

    Holy Cow, Apple just approved our show for it's iTunes store, so now it will be hosted free of charge and streamed on-the-fly!! It can now be synced with iPod, iTunes apps and mobile devices, booyah!!

    No need to download it unless you choose to now, thanks to Apple :)

    Just click on our Apple iTunes link, and you can listen on-the-fly!

    If you actually listen to it thru the iTunes software, you can subscribe and rate our show as well.

    Yeah, I enjoyed the episode. I did other things while listening to it in the background but I must admit, I skipped through most of the intro after fear the reaper stopped playing. Definitely need a much, much shorter intro. Looking forward to future endeavors into this. Video shows are becoming all the rage, you may also want to look into that -- for your show here reminded me of an extremely long audio version of MMORPG's videos of MMOFTW segments, at least in the beginning.

    As for the comments on Stratics - Yeah, unfortunately things won't really be able to kick off until more statistical information is released for that is one of the key things Stratics stands for. Stratics is a pseudonym derived from "Strategy and Statistics," the basis they were founded on with Ultima Online. Now, it has grown much more than that and encompasses community and news as well. Also, I've known many, many people to who once worked at Stratics and were later hired into some of the big developers and producers, as well as lesser known companies too. They really are a great place to get your hands wet, so to speak, while striving for a career path in gaming.

    What really will help Neverwinter Stratics kick off is if they're able to get dedicated people to volunteer for News Reporter positions so they can echo official news reports over there. If that is something anyone is interested in, please head over there and apply! wish I could go into detail about that position there but I am not sure what may have changed. One of the awesome perks I remember is that those who wanted to, and could of their own accord, attend gaming conventions would be granted Stratics Press Passes - I remember making the graphics for their badges they wore at a few of them. ;) Just keep in mind, its been several years since I was an Administrator and Managing Editor there, so I do not know of any changes on such things.

    Wow bigman (Andre), that's fantastic. I agree about intro, it's awesome, but too long... 6 minutes+. Mind you, I really loved it, but very long. That said, I don't hear what stormdragon was saying about it sounding too scripted. It sounds very much like any other podcast interview I've listened to, very well organized, and still a casual feel. Friendly banter. I really enjoyed every minute of it. Fantastic job!
    I look forward to hear more of these.

    Ah! Is this the place to leave comments about it? In that case:-

    EDIT: *ahem* Just want to clear, what i have said is that there is a lot of customization even without using hybrid class in 4e. So possibility of customizing the character to choice exists if all the possible classes are added - because there are a lot.
    Also, about multiclass, we cannot have bard without multiclass as that class depends on multiclassing - but otherwise its not that important. (Bards get free multiclass automatically)

    EDIT: Also about low res video, last time I checked they were saying the reason was because they have this video maker on the server itself which is integrated to game - and that was recording videos low res. They want to use that "ingame video maker" for all their recording for now or later.

    It seems like(opinion only) they have some plans of letting players use that video to record their games so they are using that.

    I didn't feel much about long into as I forwarded it quickly (played it in player after downloading all). The Podcast was nice, waiting for next one.

    That's stumpy paws...And thank you so much for bringing up such a painful subject. While you're at it, why don't you give me a nice paper cut and pour lemon juice on it? :p

    Only one problem so far with the show, After about 20 - 30 minutes my internet messes up and I start all over again it needs a way to skip forward. I dont know maybe its just me Ive never used Itunes before but I downloaded it just for this.



    P.S. Whenever you get things ready for episode 2 tell me. Also Im willing to join any that needs another guest.

    Yeah you're the only person I heard about that in two threads. You may want to try another player then and actually download instead of stream then.
