I hate paying taxes! Why must I pay thousands of dollars in taxes when everything I buy is taxed anyways!

This is making a mountain out of a molehill or turning John Lennon into John Wick.

Also, there is at least one person who has said they will return a "ninja" if it is done to them, is that not similar, if not more vengeful, justice? So it's not only the two mods. But apparently we only care about the terrible injustices that the mods are inflicting upon the game.

Maybe no one else is game to admit this kind of behaviour now for fear of being lynched by the blood thirsty mob (albeit a small mob) that has formed, who ironically are complaining about vigilante justice. But apparently it is OK to single out people (who volunteer their time to help the rest of us) for minor misdemeanours and then personally attack them on the forums.

I think the appropriate resolution to this matter is to dock the mods 1 week's pay, as penance, and then we can all move on.

if you dont have time for me, then i no longer have time for you.
my energy + patience in these matters are now spent. but nevermind that. at the end of the day, you will keep doing what you do, because its always about you...

Except you'd be docking a whopping sum of zero. (Yes, I probably missed the sarcasm. It's 3 AM.)

    *the old mage chuckles sinisterly*

Seriously though, I don't think I'd have to vote kick you. I've ran with ya at least twice than I can recall in long times past and you were a blast to play alongside and you were a pleasure to play along side.

I never felt I was a vigilante. I would say, in truth, when somebody tries to make me do something I don't agree with or when they are verbally abusive I am simply more inventive in my response than using colorful language.

So, because someone plays in a way you don't like. You return the favor by playing in a way they wont like? It's vindictive behavior. Akin to giving someone the finger for cutting you off in traffic. Sure, not on the same level as full on road rage, but not behavior anyone would consider as adult or mature. Color it how you like, pat yourself on the back for what you think is clever or karma. It is still a means of getting back at a players who manage to do something you didn't like.
The issue with the mentality is that it goes both ways.

I thought I made that clear but I'll repeat in other words:

Somebody plays a way I don't like. I play a way they don't like. Who decides who is right and who is wrong?
    The answer is nobody.

Either I am vindictive by not conforming to their playstyle or they are vindictive by making me conform to their playstyle regardless of the reasons to why. You are only pulling the vigilante card because of shady behavior being referenced. Step back from trying to play devil's advocate and look at the truth of the situation: there is absolutely no way for vastly contrasting playstyles to cooperate without somebody ending up in an unpleasant situation. Regardless of the why's the same vindictive argument can be played for either side without even touching the morality aspect or the word "vigilante."

People won't get me to exploit no matter what. However unlike Zeb I will not voluntarily lose out either. In the case of Fardelver where there is a limited time frame to get into a group I am not going to lose the ability to do the dungeon and lose out of the rewards because of other people.
It's not about being a police officer. It's that I won't let other people drag me down morally, emotionally or materially. I am not going to let exploitive behavior tick me off, I'm not going to conform to do it and I am not going to get the shaft for refusing to play the game in a an exploitive manner.

But based on this you actually got the answer - see a thread that derails into flame in 4 pages (including posts with community moderators) gives a nice picture of the community. That's why i try to enjoy the game taking most of the player interactions to zero.

Coming back to the original post by @mercedesman i think, he found that golden egg i was searching for since long time myself too, it is mostly upbringing mixed with age and culture.

I don't want to sound offensive towards any part of the world, but to my 40 year old Mid-European ears some parts of the game, like PE is sometimes too much, like i would drip acid into them. I won't name any country, but i could, in some parts of this small globe people have a much more strict upbringing and in some parts nearly zero and exactly this can be seen in the game too.

Don't want to sound like Sherlock, but i could identify a person by 90%+ where he was brought up by the way he acts.

Also it is good food for a sociologist what name one chooses for his toon, sometimes it speaks volumes.

Personally i hate one tendency i could identify, that is growing elitism amongst those front runner guilds, who are nearly done with SH and i meet day by day more of them, who think if they are part of such a mega guild, they can spit down on us coming from smaller guilds, you can see this in PVP, but more and more in PVE too.

Last, but not least i have to agree with @magenubbie (guess he is my age bracket) that not so far in the past many would have been cornered out and punished by the community of the game at least, whereas nowadays i meet some, mostly young players, who think it's cool to anger elder players, to take shortcuts, play in the twilight zone. But to be fair with young players there are sadly many old d-bags too, had a guy yesterday, who was walking back from middle of the dungeon to the starting campfire just to anger us and we couldn't kick him, how lovely and guess what, next time he was there again, playing the same game with another party.

I really wish there was a feature in the game, where if you have put someone on ignore, q wouldn't pair you again.

    Just my 2 cents.

    Thank you!

The human race is a herd. Here we are, unique, eternal aspects of consciousness with an infinity of potential, and we have allowed ourselves to become an unthinking, unquestioning blob of conformity and uniformity. A herd. Once we concede to the herd mentality, we can be controlled and directed by a tiny few. And we are.
