We've run the dragon fight 5 times in a row today, 4 times the red dragon and once the green one, each time finishing in 6-7 minutes. It appears that contrary to what has been said in fight description and elsewhere the fight could actually be started repeatedly at any time with just a few minutes of cool down between the fights and even without using Golden Bells.

Each fight gives a lockbox with 2 fangs, 80 seals of elements and a random Stronghold resource voucher. So it looks like we are all going to have lots of fangs very soon, and would need to work on getting seals of protector next. For the new level 70s this is also an easy way to get seals to get the basic armor in case if running dungeons in the gear you get from the quest line is too challenging.

Personally, I'm not in a rush to get the DF armor and I want to wait until our guild unlocks it. I' don't condemn Asylum for their offer, I actually applaud them for their gracious player support. That is really cool of them. I won't take their offer because I like to earn things myself (or with my group if I'm in one). It has nothing to do with Asylum, I'm just a prideful gamer. Yeah, that can be bad, but it's how I am. No offence Asylum.

I'm all for earning of gear ourselves. But you have to do the math. :disappointed: While our roster is nominally close to being full, less than a half of players plays daily and less than half of that donates to the coffer regularly. So to build the Market L4 we would have to rely on ~30 people donating 8,000-10,000 Zen worth of resources. It is a lot and by the time this is done we are likely to have a better gear from Mod 9 anyway. Which makes me sad. That's why I'm saying let's not waste all these money on coffer and save them for other improvements we can get.

I see what you mean. I, however, can't even get Zen on a timely bases. So I still can't even get the keys needed to open the coffers.
• thefiresidecatthefiresidecat Member Posts: 4,486 Arc User
I'm waiting for zen to drop in price on the exchange. I'm sure it will.

Please let me know what's the peak hour for the UK time zone and we can try to rally people around that time. We've been running 6-7 fights every night for the last few days starting at 11:30 PM.

I, however, can't even get Zen on a timely bases. So I still can't even get the keys needed to open the coffers.

Once we could kill 2 dragons in one fight you should start getting free fangs. You should be able to earn some AD (and thus Zen) sufficient for opening Dragonflight lockboxes simply by running the leveling dungeons and T1 skirmishes. Though I personally earn most money from crafting exquisite gear and unified elements. Also, try to save up 800 Zen and buy a VIP month with a 20% off coupon. As long as you then use all the lockbox keys you get, you should get at least twice as much AD back as you've spent on VIP.

I'll try the VIP the next time I have Zen. Thanks.
• thefiresidecatthefiresidecat Member Posts: 4,486 Arc User
I've also got my fingers x'd for another 50 % off sale at christmas. the next Double AD is early jan. I'm saving all my salvage gear until then.

Btw, is anyone interested in PvP? Specifically in Stronghold PvP? I've got asked today if we play PvP and all I had to say is "afaik, no, we don't, except for a couple of people who do a daily PvP for AD." Maybe we should try and see if it is any fun with no PvP gear or skill specialization  At least give someone chance to earn some glory.

I, for one, wasn't participating in PvP simply because it would cost me a lot to re-spec and acquire PvP gear while also locking me out from PvE with a less than optimal build. The way it works today in NW PvP is like a totally separate character development path which you cannot follow side-by-side with PvE progression.

I'm not really. I played a lot of PVP in other games but the pvp in this game is so unbalanced and broken. LOL. Although I have no qualms about helping to support it if others like it. dunno, maybe they made it more fun in strongholds than the queue system. never know unless you try it.

HEY GUYS! Its MARK/OATHLY TANK/MELANIE/GRACE! Someone mentioned discussions going on in the forum for the guild, so I thought I would stop by and see what was going on.

As for Stronghold PvP: If you are referring to the Siege PvP where its like 20v20, then we can def. do that. It was actually pretty fun, and the rewards (if you win) are quite good for the SH.

If it's a 20vs 20 thing and it relies entirely upon our guild to meet our side of the 20 and the other side will be a full 20.. then I think at this point in time that might be a problem. I'm not sure I've ever seen 20 people online at once let alone who all wanted to pvp.
• spelldazerspelldazer Member Posts: 315 Arc User
I don't even do pvp for AD, although maybe I should.

For the UK/EU guildies, I'm often on late at night, doing dailies and what not. We can try to rally for a dragon fight on the guild chat channel, if enough of us are logged in, starting at 8-9pm UTC, maybe? I think we need at least 8 of us of which a couple have a high gs.

No if you don't have 20 with you guild it will fill with random people from another guild. It takes forever to find a match because of this. But my previous guild we only had 1 group of 5 queue up, we got in with another guild of 5 people, and one guild had 10 on our same team.
• thefiresidecatthefiresidecat Member Posts: 4,486 Arc User
that's good then. takes forever is better than going in with 5 people against 20 in a larger guild. LOL

hey my name is MOTBE lvl 66 scourge warlock tiefling looking to join a guild. im on east time zone. my XBOX 1 name is MOTBE also.

Goa't here.
As far as PvP and PvP gear, my current goal is to get the guild PvP gear as my starter set as I work on my black ice gear.
My interest in PvP is this: it's something else to do. I am not 'all about' PvP but will dabble now and then.
Guild PvP? Sure! I will definitely participate in guild PvP if that's what we decide to do. Will I kick HAMSTER? In my own mind, ALWAYS!! :D

@spelldazer I'm on at 8-9pm gmt most days so if we can get some more people for dragon slaying we can give it a try
• spelldazerspelldazer Member Posts: 315 Arc User
OK. Will try to secure the xbox for myself. It's possible my other half will want to do some dragon slaying himself. If you see a SW named Varis Moonshadow, he's on instead of me. Tell him to log off. ;-)

Okay, so I am noticing that we are getting to the max number of GT's in the guild. But I honestly don't think that half of them are ever on. So is there anyway to see exactly who is actually active and not just taking up space?

I only ask because I personally have gotten many requests to join, and at some point we will no longer have space. So is there a way that a Guild Leader could like send a message to everyone in the guild simply stating, "reply with a yes if you are active." Then give it a week or so to see who is actually active. Then remove those people who are not active.

I don't want to sound harsh, but if someone is not active in that week or so, whatever time table you want, then we need to replace them with more active people.

That's just my 2 cents.
• spelldazerspelldazer Member Posts: 315 Arc User
@turner2k7mj what is your GT? If we can't kill a dragon, maybe we can party up for some HE's or t2 stuff. (I'm Shifun)

Too few people on tonight. Let's all make an effort to be on over the weekend starting at 8:00 UTC (20:00 UK), ok?

@nwbeast#4980 This is something I'm constantly monitoring and consider one of my primary responsibilities. If one of you guys or someone you play with side-by-side are interested and would generally be able to help with this guild management, please, let me know - e.g. send me a mail in game, I'm looking for a deputy or two to help with the ultimate power burden I've got here.

In practical terms, this is a very interesting challenge. I've listed in this thread what have I tried so far:
1) daily checking coffer/bank log and updating officer records with it. very slow, though valuable.
2) keeping track of the character's level. only works for low level players.
3) keeping track of the character's IL. you have to be in the same instance as the player to see it, plus it almost does not change for end gamers.
4) keeping track of who you see in game. only works if your guild plays at the same time or you need a few helpers.
5) using Xbox member profile view which shows when was one last active and what was one playing... that's quite helpful but I feel a bit weird myself invading other people's privacy this way.

Some ideas I haven't tried:
1) Send an email asking for a reply within e.g. 3-5 days. I know some people may be offline for holidays and vacations, but that's should be OK, we would gladly accept them back if this exclusion was a mistake.
2) Using guild member rank to indicate the member activity level. If player is seen online he/she is promoted. But that means we need to promote/demote players constantly which makes people feeling unsecure.

In the nearest future, I'm planning to:
a) promote to rank 3 (Senior Members) all players I've seen a lot playing online.
b) manually look at each Rank 2s who haven't leveled up/logged in for a while and demote some to Rank 1s.
c) send a guild letter asking everyone who is Rank 1 (Recruit) to reply to confirm their activity level.
d) exclude from the guild players who hasn't replied.
