So this is it, the OFFICIAL page for the OFFICIAL PuG PvP Channel invite page
That being said...
... if you are interested in PvP as a casual player but not interested in joining a PvP guild this is the channel for you. There are many reason why this has been created for all of usWe will be offering a bunch of different things, some of us are listed here:
- Mentorships based on class, with groups that will be run in the IWD PvP areas.
- The option for PuG Premades for entering GG and for Dom... even to be used during the NCL.
- possibilities for using Queue Sync to create 5v5 'in-house' matches... as a closed classroom.
- A TeamSpeak channel, donated for the first 3 months.
As Kvet suggested... we will have ONE rule, that rule will be 'Dont be an
HAMSTER$h0l3'. That does not mean that you cannot express frustration in the heat of a match.
If you are interested in being a class mentor, an moderator or just a member to make your PvP game better... leave your
@handle here with a little message and I will add you in whatever manner you choose. This is primarily for players that are 60 and up.

I am a long time pvp'r (mod 2) who has never actually posted on these forums, but I think that a pvp channel that could group parties of non BiS people and sync que's is a brilliant idea. I have never really been BiS, although I am pretty strong CW with 3.5kish iLvl and ALOT of pvp xp. Unfortunately, alot of the people that I like to play with are between 1.5k and 3k iLvl, and I am tired of duo que'ing because I am wary of the danger of 5 man premades. It's so rarely a balanced match when you 5 man, it's almost always a roflstomp, either for the win or for the loss (usually the loss). Helping lower level people gear up and learn to play is pretty much the only thing that I really enjoy these days in NWO, since those of us who have lots of experience and resources can really make the game alot more fun (and forgiving) for newbies, thereby increasing the amount of people who understand what they are doing in Domination and GG. Given the state of mod 6 and the massive exodus of people we are currently dealing with, bringing new people into pvp is a must.
Unlike many of the naysayers, I understand that just because a group of pugs teams up beforehand, it doesn't make them a "premade". Sure.....they would be "premade" by definition, but not the type of premade that is plaguing the que's as of late. A true premade is almost always either a near BiS team who is in the same voice chat.....or has alot of pvp xp and has teamed up with each other before, or at the very least understands basic tactics and knows how to play pvp. We need a way for new pvp people to learn the ropes without being facerolled over and over.
That's my 2¢. My handle is @aquemeni1978, Fieran is my main, please let me know how I can help.
You can be friends with those whom stab you best. Ask to join their guild, or for tips on your build.
You might also join a Tiamat Zerg channel, and other similar specialty group channels for other functions. IF you really really really think this is going to help then good luck with it.

not join at the moment, but keep an eye on it, it should be at least good mentor channel for beginners. stay tuned on forum
You need to "get it". Right now you don't. The channel isn't for just making premades to enter Dom, for instance. It's as Icy said above, create premades of comparable comps and gear to face each other. Making a premade to pvp would be foolish and offer no relevance to the objective since you would just face the other premades that you don't want to meet.
If the channel should happens to grow you would have a large pool of players to assemble fair, competitive matches.
still even under this conditions not interested much. Dont like fight the same people again again. wait for strongholds settle down and see
btw. its not icy channel and creating whole match from this channel is not mention in the first (founder) post . If its really this channel be about mainly, he should include it to the first post. because if someone read first post, it looks like channel for 5 persons team face domination arena
If you have enough people, you won't have to fight the same people again and again. But I suppose, no one has to settle down and wait if they don't want...that's for the people that have faith in the devs and/or new content. Not that that the channel is a guarantee but might as well do something to help yourselves in the mean time, just sayin".

if you said so ...

@pando83 to move on the battlefield,
This is a "Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, he'll eat forever" situation.
I am seriously open to the input of others about how the rest of this goes.
@lemonchill this is for all PvP. BTW... if you ever need company in IWD Dom I can be there. I have been the only person in the Pass during BID, who was TT. It started out as a 1v1 and it turned into a 10v1. As long as your TT. LMAO
i bet i can convince my guildies to join if i say them
That is why we are here... well one reason.
For forum users who want to PvP i also suggest to read posts of exped players like icydrake and the guides/ builds you can find in sections.
Example: i started a SW after char slot discount and double exp. Used Mystic SW guide to learn how powers and feats worked in-depth (tooltips in this game are meh and that's also why ppl need to test stuff so much to even just discover if a feat/power is truly effective in game) and get started.
I suggest to start reading what more exped players write, to learn the class faster, then start testing yourself and develop your own style/build.
Honestly... running GG and ignoring anything but the way you want to play... is how I honed my skill.
Last night I was involved in 4 of the most interesting matches. A 'stomping' against a premade, with a better premade, which threw my promise to myself all out of whack. 2 matches where I was held to 300 or less points... that has never happened. and a 35 minute "fist-fight" between some very skilled PvPers mixed with some training of lower level members and some very skilled PvP solo entries.
This last one I found interesting because there were 2 under skilled TRs that were clearly told to hold 1 and 3. I killed both of them 3 times. Until they both showed up with Negation Enchants that someone clearly gave them.
That is the type of training that we will be using, hands-on and in the trenches. There is no better way to learn that to fight other players. Yes we all die... but this game is about dying, grinding and refining... it is left to us to enjoy all of that as much as possible. Dying with friends around you is not as painful as dying alone in a puG.

Some of you that have already expressed interest check you chat channels and social page for invites and requests. The rest of you I had to come in here to see who requested an invite,
I see enormous potential in such a community run project as far as the PVP aspect of this game is concerned. Besides the fact that this would allow the player base to bypass the broken matchmaking system, if rules that prohibit the well known gamebreaking builds/bugs/exploits/team setups were established even the Dev's class balancing shortcomings(and FOTM schemes) could be bypassed and basically, that would amount to fixing PVP.
But the question of whether the PVP community is still big enough for making something like this feasible remains and i personally think that involving only casual solo queuers(if thats the idea?) would be shortsighted. Why wouldn't half and full premades(guild or not) advertise their team's average IL and search for other teams(which should have been a feature of the actual game queue as a "challenge" format) to queue-sync or at worst find the people they need to form 2 teams of approximate average IL? As jhpnw mentioned gear can be adjusted to meet the need of the moment(exploiters can be reported to moderators and banned).
The idea is basically to involve the entire community(which would be the ideal scenario even if the game wasn't in a state of decay) - both individuals and guilds through guild leaders. Im pretty sure the average guild premades stopped queing for dom(haven't seen one in ages) as they got tired of getting stomped and made feel helpless in front of their guildies by the bis premades. Someone mentioned there were already such channels but i never heard of them and i was pretty active since mod2(with some breaks) and checked the forum regularly. The point is i doubt most ppl knew about those channels or even about the possibility to find and face another premade of approximate IL through queue-sync, thus avoiding the bis premades(do they know today?). Thats why i feel sorry something like this wasn't thoroughly implemented in-game earlier as it could have saved us a lot of PVPers.
Ideally such a channel with enough ppl and collectively agreed upon rules could be a beautiful case of an united community beating the rotten system. In reality im sure we all agree its a little late for it to be a game saver but it certainly can do a lot of good for those that didn't give up yet. As i said im not sure whether your plan is so ambitious but if indeed thats(roughly) what you are after i'd say its worth a shot. The tutoring of the average pug is also a praiseworthy effort that will bring good to the PVP community and your good intentions are most welcome. Anyway we'll have to see first whether Strongholds will lure some old players back or chase away the ones left.
xxxgriessonxxx - this is great post. this is vision i hope this channel catter
This will be what it needs to be for whom ever chooses to join. This is a modified lobby channel... where players can create in-house matches, PuG premades to compete with the any other premade, teach others, learn for experienced players and all-in-all create a better environment for those that "have not"...
This channel is all about the "we have the skill but we don't have the numbers" or "we need skills and some understanding to get better"
Quite honestly... if PvP guilds are worried by this... don't be. Imitation is the greatest form of flattery.
BTW... everyone who has expressed interest has been invited... as of now. Please check your chat channels.
Also... we need to start sharing this in game. I do not have a set marketing script... but I would like every member to help out as much as possible in an effort to expand the herd.
