I wanna ask whats the point in having Control Effects when bosses are made immune to them?
I would understand that Bosses as very powerful and tough adversaries have higher Control Resistance than regular mobs but total immunity? It sux!

With it, classes that rely on control effects are penalized in boss fights.

Take for example Hunter Rangers..Roots are base class mechanics, with them HR apply Damage Over Time to enemies. If HR cant apply roots to boss because immunity very large chunk of HR damage output in form of DoT is taken away. Thus pushing class with potentially highest damage output into support role in which HR sux. Can do it.I mean support and buff but its secondary capability. No not even secondary its tertiary capability. HRs are DPS first Control second buff/support third.

Unfortunately i don't really have evidence of this, only observation. And what i can deduce trough observation it appears that this is the case.

So bosses are immune to Control Effects but players are totally voulnerable to Control Effects bosses use on them. There's no resisting them regardless of how high Control Resistance players have..Never seen it somebody succesfully resisting Boss Control Effects. Only thing that appear to be worth investing is AoE resistance.

    Fix. The. Masterwork.Leveling. Quests.

Either let us exchange +1 items for regular ones so that the artisan will accept them, or make the artisan accept +1 items.

Weeks of planning in which artisans to train, upgrading workshop right away instead of making AD through crafting, and spending guild marks went into just preparing to upgrade MW and now we get a badly broken system in which a success is not a success. This should have been fixed long before the launch of mod 15 and it is completely unacceptable.

I was thinkin about Stats and caps..and how better enchants get tricky to optimize so you have 100% AP or CS and no excess which go to waste. Why we cant have a change in system so that excess stats get transfered to complementary stats at some ratio with diminishing returns ofc?

Like if i have 110% Armor penetration those 10% excess could be transfered to Power at some ratio. Or 110% Critical Strike 10% excess transfered to Critical Severity at some ratio?

This has been a problem for a while now but with all of these huge mounts people are getting, whenever a mounted player interacts with an object or NPC they should be automatically dismounted. Sometimes it is impossible to see an object or quest giver when it is surrounded by players on those big HAMSTER mounts.

Particularly a problem with people taking their obstructive mounts and just parking them in front of a NPC or object a player needs to interact with since sometimes it obscures those things completely.

Can you please change the Bow model from the new CSA:Season which is basically Ancient Trapper Ornate Bow and that model is already used by too many bows..and there is also Alliance Store transmute bow that uses the same model..Can you please change it before launch into model that was once +5 Warden's Longbow and no longer drops anywhere. If people don't like it they can always transmute. Oww please please ..with cherry on top :)

    Hail.

I would like Gold from monsters to be Auto Picked-Up and not have to walk over it to pick it up. That would be a big time saver.

I've seen players literally sit their Dragon mount on top of the business end of the telescope in Winter Festival, making it impossible to find a focus point to view / complete the Astrologer daily quest until they decide to move.
  • dionchidionchi Member Posts: 915 Arc User
More big HAMSTER mounts - more problems of the same...

It's not just effecting the telescope at the Winter Festival also more difficult to find and talk to the mayor, merchants and obviously any other area where those humongous mounts are parked.

Oh sure if someone already knows where the NPC we need to talk to is or the item we’re supposed to interact with is it’s easier to guess where we need to go, but for people who are first timers or aren’t able to see the quest giver NPC or the thing they need to pick up or interact with, it’s often obscured until those big HAMSTER mounts move.

I cant figure out what to do on this game at all. :anguished: I'm on my first quest, and I'm told to go "heal fighters on the battlefield". I cant even FIND the battlefield, much less who I'm supposed to be healing, and when I DO find them, how on earth do I heal them anyway? I try to follow the "sparkly" trail, but it seems to lead me nowhere. :-1: Thinking of giving up on this game, as I have no idea what I'm doing

And if you are a new player or have never been to an area before?

Aside from the inconvenience for experienced players who know where things are for new players or people visiting an area for the first time they usually have to wait for the big HAMSTER mount to move before they can even continue to play.

Some should take more consideration the effect they have on other players, not simply themselves.

I cant figure out what to do on this game at all. :anguished: I'm on my first quest, and I'm told to go "heal fighters on the battlefield". Listen to the tutorial and it will explain about how to follow the glittering path to your next objective and how to interact with objectives.

When you get the triage quest during the tutorial there are soldiers laying on the battlefield asking for a "cleric" or saying "I need healing". You go to those players put the circle in the middle of your screen on one of them and press "F" to interact with them (an object).

That heals them. Then you move on to the next one (you only need to heal 3).

After healing the fallen, again follow the sparkling path to turn in the quest and get your next quest.

It pretty much works the same way throughout the game.

    Hello,

This subject I'm going to start here should quote that I sent as a ticket to Neverwinter's support, but I thought it would be a good idea to take it to you. And also I intend to have a clear vision of how is the interest on the part of players in relation to this subject, well.

    That was the subject:

Hello, first of all thank you for opening and reading my ticket, I will be brief as possible but I will be very detailed.

I play Neverwinter for almost 3 years, I already had 2 accounts, I am very experienced in the game, and I am a Brazilian player, I must mention my nationality because of this important subject.

The game attracted me because I like the D & D system and because of the accessibility of my language I have the option to change it to Portuguese in which I felt very comfortable playing it.

But that was 3 years ago and since module 6 Evil Elementary that was announced and released on April 7th, 2015 my language has not received any kind of update until the module that has already been released that is Module 16 that is Acquisitions Incorporated which was released in November 2018.

In my humble opinion, as a Brazilian I interpret this as lacking of respect for Lusophone culture.
I will ask a simple question:

Do the developers of Neverwinter have any intention of updating the Portuguese language?

I hope you understand my criticism of the management of Cryptic, and I also expect a response from your landlords.

    Thanks for listening.

The ticket was answered clearly by a GM, but I think that this kind of subject is also to have the participation on the part of the players, I must mention that my intention is not for selfish interests only for part of my linguistic culture, because there is another languages that have not received the updates since module 6. Well ... is a serious matter that is minimally raised by the audience of Neverwinter, so I decided to create this subject in the forum of Neverwinter, if it is possible to have a participation opinion by the administrators of the forum is very welcome, but of great importance I expect public participation.

I will start with 1 question:

What is your opinion about the lack of language upgrades offered in the Neverwinter options since module 6 Elemental Evil that was launched in 2015?

And my petition is obviously the update of the Portuguese language of the game Neverwinter Online.

I am grateful for the patience of this reading, and I hope that part of the administrators of the forum will understand my criticism regarding the management of Cryptic.

in about a week, after winter festival end, we may going to see sudden drop on client log on and seeing some areas ghost town, i was in Barovia and in Onu, it was practically pure ghost town zones, and will be worst when festival wrap up, to see more ghost towns except PE.
sharandar look more quieter except on mondays when players gathering for diamond weekly runs.

wonder why? players seem no longer trust devs, and tired of seeing the domino effect on what they care about the most, seeing devs take things away, one after another since mod 6, removable of coal ward from merchants, loss of Rhix' AD quests, some dungeon pulled out and few came back butchered.
One thing players hates the most, RNG format, aka "slot machine format", doesnt feel like role playing.

we all havent heard anything in weeks since they answered. just what happen to cheerful, having good time in old school fishing, having good time trying to get 'lost treasures' for the alts. and all things without the "COST".

now oh? we pay for baits? and wait 30-40 seconds to get a bite? I DONT HAVE TIME WAITING FOR A FISH BITE! less than 10 seconds seem maybe fine, but 30-45 seconds wait? as others get faster as YOU broke my legenday rod! not happy with 40 starlights as compensation, it is low blow. i see major set back on entertainment progress. I know about EULA about devs can do or change at without notice, but this one is bit too extreme and cross the line, pure betrayal.
why i said that? you never even open a poll or offer suggestions in first place before making a change to lessen uproar and loads of hot angry posts and seem to avoiding why you let it happen.
took you 2 and 1/2 years to fill up to make smooth transitions since mod 6 disaster with elemental episodes as betweener from 60 level to get to 70 level easier.

what was reason? to fight fishing bots? not realizing you hurt players more than bot scripters, they always rewrite any new scripts. they are the ones who broke EULA and CoC, not the gamers as we tried to have fun and play. players lose the most and feel like we were playing in very bad casino house with someone who can cheat and "count the cards", and we still lose and cheaters get away with prizes.

fishing boring? just as same in real life, we often get bug bites or get sunburned, or nicked by hooks or forgot to get the baits. those things happen, it part of our lives.
after i learn to fish in twilight tor, and i went back to SoMI, it went faster and smoother than in winter festival, those ice craters texture dont look right and slow.
some still prefer unexpected undead fishers and specific color beams since it is random. 30-45 seconds wait has to go away.

So its 2019. we probably wont get a bloody neck bulk slider in character generator this year either.

I mean we have all kind of sliders to modify all kind of things..like arm length and arm BULK leg length and leg BULK ..neck length but thers no slider to set and modify neck BULK so chars wont look awkward
  • wynilwynil Member Posts: 26 Arc User
Or why companion upgrade process has to be Tokens OR AD..why i can't combine both resources like if i want to upgrade my epic comp to legendary and i have only 60 tokens and i need 120 why i cant use 60 tokens and 500K AD? instead of 120 tokens OR 1 Mill AD? Why has to be either/or situation? there is no reason to be that way or rational explanation that holds water beyond we made it that way suck it up.

What I can't figure out is why someone thinks the best most effective way to confront bots is to institute something that tends to make all players suffer instead of attempting to find a way to more effectively identify and deal with the players who are using bots for cheating?

I realize there probably isn't a 100% fool proof method, but is it too much to ask for at least an attempt to better identify players using bots and dealing with them instead of seeming to have a preference for implementing things to make it difficult on the majority of other players who aren't?

    For instance Winter Festival fishing...

There are only so many things a person fishing can pull out of the water, for the sake of argument let's pretend there are four items.

The player catches a Brown Bream -

A drop down menu appears after a successful catch and asks:

    "What did you catch?"
    1. A shoe
    2. A soggy purse
    3. A Brown Bream
    4. more of that round jelly looking stuff
A player would have to properly respond to keep fishing.

A whole lot easier and much less frustrating than a button to cast, another button to set the hook, then left, right, left, right, left (rinse and repeat) and another button to reel it in.

I realize this would require more work on the Neverwinter developer side, but I also believe it would effectively address the botting issue without the extreme difficulty the developers have currently decided to use.

But then I'm not a programmer so this is pretty much my best guess on how cheating bots are made.

I'm wondering if the developers know how frustrating and unappealing it is for players to have something they really enjoy so seriously messed up or removed with the repeated excuse of: "because some players were using bots"...

Seems to me if someone knows a player is using a bot, they should be able to tell which player it is and ban them, not make the entire community suffer for the sake of a few cheaters.

i like the way you think Dio, having a concept of multiple choices of one you pick sound great, what if someone only choose wet purse each time just to get huge amount of coins would cause inflation.
i am also concern about devs having a bad rng add to list menu and someone who unlucky to get 3 undeads pop up in 5 tries to get a fish, that not good.

    Greetings,

First of all, I think this thread is no longer relevant, it would therefore be better to create new threads for new questions/feedbacks.

@itachiemadara Neverwinter is currently localized into French, German, Italian and Russian by Perfect World, but unfortunately there are no longer any plans to translate it into Portuguese, Polish and Turkish. Perfect World decided to stop supporting these languages since 2015.

We understand your disappointment and that's not a lack of respect for cultures of these countries. This is just an economic reason for a company; localizing all PWE's games in different languages takes a lot of time, and these communities are unfortunately no longer large enough (on Neverwinter) :anguished:

@wylonus Personally I like the new fishing system, I find it much more realistic than before. I can also understand your point of view, but in any case, we can confirm that the number of players has not decreased.
Generally, community teams collect players' feedbacks directly from official forums but I like the idea of organizing surveys from time to time, that's an interesting way to listen all players, especially those who don't visit official forums or don't like to comment publicly. We already did it for French and German communities for M14, but it may be a good idea to do it for all communities for M16 and we will think about it.

We wish you a pleasant day and have fun on Neverwinter!

If you (and the management) believe this thread is no longer relevant, you should lock it and move it away from the top of the forum so that people will not waste their time to post in an irrelevant thread while thinking they are contributing to something. By the way, IMO, these 'announcement' threads on top of the forum are mostly (if not all) irrelevant. About time to clean house. Just my 2 copper.

    I'm in agreement with @plasticbat

If the thread isn't relevant it should be locked and moved instead of pinned to the top. It's the first thing people see and obviously people will read/respond to it.

It's up to mods to keep things tidy and clean around here not up to players to figure out that this general catchall thread was outdated and most likely being ignored.

The concept isn't "pick your prize", it's a character has to answer correctly what the catch is or they cannot continue to fish.

Catch a purse and identify a "purse" and the character can continue to fish - catch a purse and identify a "shoe" and everything just comes to a screeching halt.

Unless someone can program their bot to correctly identify and respond to what it was the player caught, there would be an almost nill opportunity for someone to program an automaton to fish for them.

    Regards,

You might be right about this thread no longer being relevant, just because of the sheer number of issues it seems player's are concerned with, they do tend to run pretty far afield... but the only problem with starting a new thread to address a specific topic is those threads can be closed down at any time - but this one seems to be sacrosanct, it's even pinned at the top as @plasticbat mentioned.

Unpin the thread and lock it and no one will be posing here any more - but if that is done I would probably start another: "Top Issues Currently In Neverwinter PC" thread because I personally believe the topic, in and of itself deserves a platform for players to express themselves in this regard.

As to the fishing topic, since you like the fishing concept, obviously this isn't a "Top Issue" for you... That being said, there are other areas where you can do the type of fishing you enjoy - but there are no other areas or opportunities for players to fish the way they used to at the Winter Festival, hence the topic being addressed by displeased players in the "Top Issues" or probably known among the moderators and developers as the "gripe" forum.

And when you said "we can confirm that the number of players has not decreased" is that the number of people who attended the Winter Festival, or the number of people who were actually fishing at the Winter Festival - I'm just curious because every time I looked toward the fishing area there appeared to be very few people participating in that event.

An occasional poll would be nice, at least that way it would give the impression that someone was concerned about what players thought - whether or not anyone actually is, or anyone actually takes the time and trouble to consider any of the player's responses...

Perhaps you might try to suggest that.

Sorry but this just smacks of tone deafness. Its not like there are nothing but negative comments on these forums, once the drop rates and other bugs were fixed, people generally liked the Masquerade of Liars. But the fishing change in Winter Fest was actively mocked on Discord with my guild alliance and I have seen on unofficial Neverwinter forums. I mean it is pretty generally hated with a few exceptions.

Take the free feedback a subset of your player base is giving you.

An idea to make more builds viable: Instead of bosses and other such creatures being immune to CC (which, considering the amount of features, feats, and builds that rely on it, is nigh-unacceptable), try applying a "soft" cc effect for the same duration. For example, stun and daze becomes a damage penalty, prone and immobilize become slows. Other "soft" CCs (slows, knock, marks, etc) are now applied normally, but possibly for half duration.

I much prefer the way lifesteal worked before mod 6. It made it more reliable, and thus more viable.

Nimble Runner doesn't give much damage per movement speed%. Many players are unsure if this is a bug or the intended effect. On that note, much of the player dislikes instigator, even with the buffs it's received recently. Here are some ideas i had for changes:

    - STudent of the sword: Doesn't provide enough DR reduction. Either allow it to stack (3 times seems right) or double the % value per rank.
    - Fleet Footed: Decent as is, but possible increase the duration by a second or two

-Vicious Advantage: Doesn't do enough as is. Perhaps double the damage bonus it provides, or some similar effect.
    - swap battle trample and reinforced surge.

    - Warrior's Rush: Gaining new stacks should reset/extend the duration. That is all.
    - Flanking Maneuver: Increase the % value by 1 per rank.

-Nimble Runner: For the love of god fix it. That is all.
    - Allied Opportunity: Include Punishing charge in there. Give it some love.

-group assault: Have it apply to all at wills. It's a tier 5 feat for god's sake.
    - Crippling Strike is fine provided the above change to CC is made. Perhaps increase the damage bonus by 1% per rank.

    - Instigator's Vengeance: Gotta throw the whole feat out! or at the very least, change how you get stacks. Something like:Instigator's Momentum: Increase your damage by 20%. Increase this bonus by 1.5% When you damage an enemy, up to 50%.
Alternatively, you could change the stack mechanic to "Increase this bonus by 1% when you damage an enemy, or 2% when you deal combat advantage damage, up to 50%." although I'd prefer the first.

Hopefully this didn't come across as too negative. I love the game, but i wish more options were viable.

Profession resource system is WAY to cluttered. Either remove half of the resources and give +2 and +3 versions of the other half instead, resulting in more flexibility of what to craft, or drastically increase stack size produced.

For example: instead of getting one batch of blackiron scales from an ingot, get 1-10, depending on proficency. Then, depending on focus, get some or all of them as +1 or even better.

lordrgavin, profession still heavy cluttered, wonder why you want add +2 and +3.

so here my thoughts are, remove +1 from gathering from all the raw materials we "gathered", and let our crafters make those +1, and extreme crit for +2 or higher.
i clearly dont understood why devs created so much mess with 2 stacks of versions of gold dust and +1 with every materials we got.

sure we found gold nuggets/sands, but they are all have impurities and flawed until refined into something pure or crafted skillfully. then those +1 raw items is simply waste of time and takes up too many slots.
then again, devs has to go back to drawing board and clean up workshop again before cleaning up on masters if they have plans. but master materials are just fine, but need to focus to eliminate RNG into new version of longer cooldowns or give crafter a day off or a few days before doing new task.

devs could add healers for the workers who get hurt on the job.

just a new thought came up, didnt want to re-edit edit to add.

i would like to see new task for multiple crafters involved in single duty, only for unique items. Player-made customizable items with class trait slot for artifacts.

after i learn to fish in twilight tor, and i went back to SoMI, it went faster and smoother than in winter festival, those ice craters texture dont look right and slow.
some still prefer unexpected undead fishers and specific color beams since it is random. 30-45 seconds wait has to go away.

    Totally agree.
All the time they spend trying to expand the game, why is it that they spend no time at all on fixing what they have broken?
They implement new stuff like this CTA Season before it even passes muster. Don't they fact check before releasing anything? I have even heard now that some are saying that the Lantern Festival has a few kinks in it such as the New Year's Boar being green until you get it. Then it turns white. The Boar Shoat does not deliver as promised as well.

Speaking of the old, three dungeons that were taken out were never fixed and returned to the game without explanation: Lair of the Mad Dragon; Throne of Idris; and the Dread Vault. It really messed with the storyline I have to say.
Also three skirmishes have been ignored from ever being considered as CTAS: the Blacklake Terror; Defend the Village; and the Aberrant Assault but let's create new ones. If one goes past the level for those skirmishes, they are out of luck especially the first one I mention because it is real easy to outlevel Blacklake.

I want the Devs to know that not all of us are power gamers and like to play casual by the storyline. Going on 67, I don't have that type of energy that makes up a power gamer plus I was never a king of the mountain type.
Hopefully the Devs have everything squared away for the next CTA: Pit Fight because the first one was a real waste of time for me. Never got one single Token and the so-called fixes did not work in my case either.

We need a mod that is focused on just cleaning up the old content and updating rewards. Past LV 70, outside the latest 2-3 (K-Team is questionable) mods all gear is garbage and can't even be salvaged now. This is a result of power creep. I would like to see item level tied to quality, aka, all epic = same item level, etc.

With the clean up mod, you could also intro a new class and then play it through the cleaned up lower campaigns.
