They ran it in 2010. I'm thinking he probably jumped the gun when he learned that there was a new Archmage in town following the Apocalypse. His entire scheme ruined in a moment of panic.
As I'm currently reading through all of the Champions material, I can confirm how deep and rich it is with its universe. It is very close to being on the level of the Big Two.
Well yeah, I wanted it to be the best thing it could be. Is that so wrong? To want the best for something you enjoy? Hell, I just started delving into the PnP RPG it's based on and it really could be more.
Criticizing a game is not the same as disliking it. Also, you must be confusing me with someone else. I was the chief skeptic of those "spiritual successor" games and always ridiculed them whenever I had the opportunity.
Oh sure, I bet Champions is just drowning in money. Length of time active is not how I define success. Champions is just barely in the black. The moment it dips in the red? Well, looks like superhero aficionados will have to turn to the Distinguished Competition. There was a post I replied to earlier that echoed my views…
Thank you Proto, that is exactly my sentiment. I truly feel like a ball was dropped somewhere. I don't know what or when, but this MMORPG could have been something truly great. It had potential. It still does. Don't get me wrong (as so many in the past have), I love this game. But I'm allowed my criticisms and dreams.
Personally I'm pleased by buying a lifetime a while back (I had a lot of disposable income at the time). I was able to accumulate Zen like crazy over the years, so now I just sit on it like a Zen dragon or something.

Well, I have already purchased Champions 6th ed, Champions Complete, and Powers. They're arriving from Amazon tomorrow. As for the wishlist, well there's the villain books, the Universe and Beyond book. Some materials that look like they're from 5th but detail some fluff about some groups. Also core HERO stuff for…
The QWZ? Can you perhaps assume that I have no idea what that abbreviation stands for? Tell me more? Something like that, but not quite. New content is tricky because on the one hand it brings in players, but on the other hand new content needs to be justified by having said players. Generally, content rolling in is a sign…
I enjoy being told stories. I notice there's a new thing about the Cobra Lords which is a pleasant surprise when I signed in earlier this week. Just having that little bit of extra bit of content to do made my day.
Oh, a little more development that what we've seen. The game always felt like Cryptic's red-headed step-child, given little crumbs here and there. I would have loved a new zone, even if it was half the size of Millennium City. And the Nemesis system was always my pet interest, I would have loved that expanded. Otherwise we…
Derived from the term "popcorn flick." Not much of substance, might be entertaining or might be completely terrible, won't be getting nominated for an Oscar any time soon.
I really would find it nice if they succeeded, really would, but I remain extremely skeptical about CoT. At the pace they're going, they'll take longer than Duke Nukem Forever did.
I'm pretty convinced "Heroes and Villains" is just GoldenGirl sitting at the community computer in a mental ward somewhere, playing around with the system's poser program while rambling madly to herself that her MMO's going to hit big. Then the orderlies come and sedate her for getting too animated.
And suddenly I'm reminded why I left these forums. Thanks, and bye again. For good this time. But don't worry, maybe you'll run across me in the game. I'll still tell you where to shove it even then. P.S. A real honest thank you to beerbane, since they were polite and not a jerk.
Yeah, power tweaks, temp events and lockboxes don't do it for me. This is on record here in the past. And... I said the last time I logged in was early June, but as I stated my sign-ins into the game have been very spotty this year. Before June, it had been another two months of not signing in, and before that a good four…
I suppose you might be right. With very little being added to it, it seems like the game's only merits are the costume creation to design your "avatar." Nevertheless, I have severe altitis and too much fun with said costume creator to ever consider moving on (since, well, there is nothing else to move on to).
