  • I get what you are saying and yes it could have been clearer, but on this post it states Participation Award. To me that says you get an award for participating in the CC. Turning up too late to enter does not qualify as participating in a CC. And like I said, would it be just for someone to sneak into a full theatre, just…
  • Ugh. I give up. Everytime I look at your creations I have to redo mine. I have been awol for awhile and I face an impossible task of redoing every single costume I have in light of your excellence. Please do not keep up the good work, my fragile ego cannot handle it.
  • They did indeed announce that only those at the start of the CC in Zone 1 would get a prize. They said they had members of Spectre making lists of those who attended. How would it be fair if someone snuck in last minute after a contestant lost his connection and claimed a prize whilst the person who had been in Zone 1 for…
  • Thank you all for hosting a superb CC and for the generous prizes, time and effort you put in. It was superb fun and I am proud to have come 3rd. amongst so many excellent costumes.
  • So glad they decided to introduce meeda's concept, definitely going to buy it. Gratz!
  • Gratz to all the winners. I am particularly fond of Robomonkey, who I knew would be the one to beat, however there were many other ones I wish I had made myself.
  • Magnificent Mecha Manga Mazinger Millenium I lied this is my last one promise  It's yet another one of i-Bots costumes, htis one has a definite Manga look. The plan is to make a new toon using the new powers so he can have both a huge mecha sword and a flying fist in tribute to mazinger Z, who inspired this look in…
  • Droid Quixote Finally I give you Droid Quixote, I really can't think of a good reason why anyone would make a robot based on Cervantes hero, but I made him years ago for a competition and have kept his costume as one of i-Bots many alts. Let's just say i-Bot admired his heroic endeavors and changed his look to honor him.…
  • TETSU TENGU Tetsu Tengu was created by engineers at Kikaika Seisakusho, a large high technology manufacturer based in Nagoya, Japan. Clearly the lead designer was overly fond of manga, because when he was asked to create a reconnaissance aerial drone, he made it look like a mechanical tengu, a bird like demon from Japanese…
  • This toon has seen many looks. His backstory is that Mechanon designed an automated household robot cleaner. Sadly, the first model exploded when it cleaned up various spilt chemicals which reacted inside it. Mechanon vowed that no automaton of his would ever fail again, so the new version had to be able to clean up…
  • No we didn't. You may have since edited your post, but unfortunately for you your original statement was quoted and you very clearly stated you intended to sell the cards. As was pointed out you did not have permission to do this and thus no-one would help you as they too could get into trouble for breaching the T&C.
  • If we ever get that many new players they will have to upgrade the servers to cope. Hopefully we will get 486s rather than the current 386s and a bigger hard drive of at least 120Mb. Oh and they will promote the janitor to a developer, as the current one will be overworked.
  • Exactly, white is far too bright so loses detail, so I always go with a very light grey instead. Similarly for cloth, I always choose the darkest grey instead. I like the look, I too did an all whitish costume for two of my toons and it makes a pleasant change from black/red ;p
  • Didn't you guys know, every superhero has one common power, RESPAWN, just like we all do in CO. I wish to god he could die for ever, as his healing factor is ridiculous. I remember the time his flesh was blasted off until all that remained was his skeleton. Yet somehow he could still talk with no vocal chords, see because…
  • Agreed. Tights are essential for the genre even if they are partially covered with bulkier items. There were a few tights only entries for the competition, including one of mine but they went with mainly flashier choices, although the holo armour was close to one of my concepts, so I am happy either way. Agreed. Tights…
  • STOCKINGS FTW!!! PS: You are wrong, tights are totally right for the genre, but what we need is more options so we can combine them into something creative.
  • A bit late, but congratulations to all the winners. I will be buying whichever wins, with the exception of the anime girl outfit, as I have no use for it. Since my suggestion of translucent/ transparent/ crystalline skin and armour pieces didn't get selected, i am voting for the holographic set as it is similar. Judging by…
  • But, they don't drop a clue every time, which is what I was saying, no matter how many nemeses you have locked up. But I do agree, they do seem to get quicker as you progress, but that's more to fewer nemesis missions before the final one.
  • Just to clarify, they only drop clues occasionally, about 1 in 5 times and only if you have completed the previous nemesis mission and if necessary, contacted the relevant NPC depending on messages you receive or mission requirements.
  • This. I recognized it immediately but because it is unnamed, it is suitable to all the people we have lost. A simple and elegant tribute.

  • So does this mean they are a 'scaly'?

  • The way I interpret it as that because it was so disciplined and strict, he learnt the painful way to not show his baser instincts and trained himself to act the way they expected. He put up with it because he knew in the long run it would enable him to get into the military more easily, where he could give into his baser…
  • So basically they are all drug addled wannabees? That actually makes a lot of sense.
  • I agree entirely with you, but I said know when to hold back, not hold back all the time. For example in Fire and Ice it still makes sense for the tank to keep aggro on Frosticus, as he can one shot many players. I have seen many pugs when a dps player rushes in and starts to attack Frosticus even before the tank has…
  • This got me thinking, clearly if moustaches are worn over the mouth, then this must be an asstache:
  • Yup Marvel has got a long history of 'borrowing' from other sources. It's hard to find a single Marvel hero that doesn't owe their concept to an earlier superhero. All publishers do it, but marvel is the worst offender by far.
  • Yeah many powers would have to be banned or heavily restricted. For example killing attacks with no normal defences would be a big no no. Even worse, imagine a multipower with each slot taking a different NND, so that whatever defence the mob had, it could be ignored. Or a toon with attacks useable whilst desolid and who…
  • I feel for you. My main Witchfinder has had 2GM for years as it was thematic. Now many min/maxers are taking it. Sadly, it would seem the two players where trying to out dps each other. DPSers likw the ones you describe is the reason that so many other players despise them. Good dps players know when to hold back, to allow…
  • I wish it would be more like Champions PnP. We each have a points total with which we buy powers, skills, talents and characteristics. We then choose the damage dealt by the power, advantages, eg armour piercing, autofire, maintained and limitations, not underwater, a focus, such as a weapon as well as type, eg physical,…
  • This. But also why no whiskers? [Grammar Police] Oh, btw it's Rodent, not Roudent.[ /Grammar Police]
  • Excellent thread, I hope more players read this and fit their toons into the Champs universe. Now we need a reason for all the furries, galaxy eating Gods and why so many choose to wear red and black
  • So sorry to hear this, I really admired his output and own many of his Champions supplements. I am sure this must have affected you even more so, as you probably knew him in real life. He will be missed, but not forgotten.
  • It could simply mean that because he enjoyed the military life and the opportunity it gave him to be legally violent, he hid his true feelings. After all, the military does teach discipline and restraint, so why couldn't he apply this to controlling his more extreme tendencies? He wouldn't be the first psychopath to slip…
  • Lets have a vote, pick one of the following options for the lack of roads: * They forgot to build the roads. * Money ran out to build them. * The nuclear explosion buried them with debris and sand. * Viper stole them, as they seem to steal anything that isn't nailed down. * In keeping with the Old West them, no paved roads…
  • I haven't played WoW in over 5 years, but I seem to recall a definite transition between one zone and the next, albeit not like between zones in this game or between Azeroth and Kalimdor. However even in WoW, some zones were dull, such as Barrens and I wouldn't want bigger zones that just meant we had to travel for the…
  • I see this going downhill fast, so to avoid further argument, I will assume you used the wrong word and move on. If you didn't, I ask again what you mean by seamless, since if you don't mean connecting individual CO zones directly, then they are seamless already. This is not semantics, I don't understand what you mean by…
  • Sorry I am late, but rest assured he is missed by many and the new memorial is a perfect touch. RIP my friend.
  • You said seamless, implying that there was no joins. As there are no joins in any CO zone, I assumed you meant the joins between zones. If not, what did you mean by seamless? As to bigger zones, where did you read the engine couldn't cope? Is that an assumption? Lemuria is a really big zone, but the truth is our travel…
  • I think it would be very odd if all the zones in CO were linked together. How exactly would an island off Japan run into Canada? The problem is the games you mentioned are not based on the real world, whilst Champions is. Cryptic would have to recreate a large part of the world and even if they did each intermediate area…
  • I agree that the bosses should require more than a tank and spank mechanic. They should require some thought and tactics in order to succeed. They also need to improve the drops, especially from the lairs, as repeat runs soon become pointless and boring. The problem is not only did On Alert make us stronger, but they…
  • Thanks Cryptic, it is a shame those that passed away aren't around to appreciate it, but welcome none the less.

  • I too loved Marshall Law and I wish I had done the homage first :) Very nice job. Hope you play him, as you will have a wonderful set of nemeses to pick from, starting with the Public Spirit ofc Hopefully they will release the long promised Omnibus sometime soon, but i doubt it :frown:
  • Enter here, explains everything as well.
  • You made no assumptions? Really? Please supply the proof that I felt the way you claim. My original post was merely a clarification of the Dark Champions Universe, which others have also agreed with and my reasons against the proposed concept of a non superhero environment. When I started that post, his answer to Jonsil…
  • See this is the problem I have tried to get you to clarify repeatedly. Your response was not clear. Even Jonsil had to reiterate his point as he too thought you misunderstood him. If by any hero you literally mean any superhero, regardless of powers or concept, then this is a complete turnaround from your initial idea.…
  • See your assumption is I am upset, I am not. In fact it seems to have upset you more than me. I was merely stating the reasons why his original concept wouldn't work just because it was Dark Champions and the flaws in his concept. Even if we limit Dark Champions to what he originally suggested, he would still get players…
  • Please read my original post, you part quote and explain to me what is baseless or half-informed. In fact I was pointing out that the OP was wrong in his interpretation of Dark Champions as I, unlike him, have read and own the book. In fact he is half-informed not me. The bits I skipped where to do with the Batman…
  • Wrong, the semantics I referred to were you attempting to claim omitting is not the same as removing when in actual fact you mean removing not omitting. Wrong, Dark Champions has all the things you don't want, so you would have to remove them to satisfy your needs. Wrong, this was by your admission Jonsil's suggestion and…
  • ROFL, I love the way you attempt to take the moral high ground. It was you who started flaming, don't complain if you give and then receive. Furthermore, sarcasm is only witty when it's funny, you weren't, so don't pretend to be sorry when you aren't. As to third grade education, unlike you I paid attention. When something…
  • I am not going to debate this endlessly, you stated very clearly your intent in your original post, again I quote: 'Gone would be the silliness. Gone would be the mysticism that permeates the game. Gone would be the impossible supertech. ' Now, if you didn't mean to imply that you disliked supertech and crazy tech to use…
