FC.31.20140303.3
FC.31.20140303.2
FC.31.20140303.1

Release Notes for FC.31.20140303.4:

April Event

  • This year, Millennium City is hosting FoxbatCon, the world's premier Foxbat-themed Superhero convention! Come down to Renaissance Center and meet the stars of the 1960s Foxbat TV show. Special Guest of Honor: Foxbat himself! (If anyone knows the current whereabouts of Foxbat, please contact the information desk immediately.)

  • During this event, defeated enemies will sometimes drop FoxbatCon Swag Bags which contain fun prizes. Look for missions from Defender and from Mayor Biselle on the stage.

  • This event has two parts. The second part will be on PTS on Monday.

  • The management has a special request: Please try to avoid spoiling jokes from this event in this thread.

"Foxbat: The Movie" Lockbox

  • The Debugger has a selection of items from the upcoming "Foxbat: The Movie" Lockbox. These boxes do not drop from enemies in this build.

Vehicles

  • Rescaled Vehicle innate resistance and HP to scale more slowly with "Defense" value. As part of this, some vehicle Defenses were also adjusted:
    • Hover Tank Mark 1 vehicles are now Defense 5.5 instead of 4.5, to bring their listed Defense in line with their stats.
    • Exocet Mark 2 vehicles are now Defense 4 instead of 4.5 (It was slightly too tanky)
    • Chariot Mark 2 vehicles are now Defense 6 instead of 5.5 (It wasn't quite tanky enough)

  • Prototype Hawkwings now have Combat Speed / Top Speed like other vehicles.

  • Advanced Hyperkinetic Dampening System has been revised. It now costs 0 energy, activates immediately, has a 3 second duration and a 15 second recharge. Damage reduction is still 120% / 240% / 360%. Additionally, you deal 50% less damage while the shield is up.

  • Gravity Pulse: The flashing lights have been removed from the FX.

  • Added a "Help" dialog to the Vehicle Upgrade NPC to help you figure out what might be blocking your attempt to upgrade a vehicle.

  • The Broadhead grav bike now displays correctly for female characters.

  • The Broadhead grav bike has been given a new color scheme.

  • The Broadhead and Smilodon have been added to the Drifter.

  • There is now a Vehicles category in the Auction House. Any vehicles that were listed on the AH before this patch will no longer show up in searches and will need to be re-listed by their owners.

Lemurian Invasion

  • Enemy Exocets drop to 1/3 speed while in combat. Tagging an Exocet with an attack puts the three fighter formation into combat.

Please format any bugs you find in the following format:

Please stay on topic in this PTS thread. We use bug reports from this thread to decide whether a PTS build is ready to go live, and so we need to make sure we're seeing everything in it. Please do discuss the changes, but if you find yourself writing about something that isn't specific to what's on PTS, then that should probably go elsewhere.

In particular, do not report bugs from the live game in this thread, unless they are impacted by changes in the PTS build.

Oh thank the Gods this is going away.

Also, looking forward to the silliness of this event when PTS comes back up. :D

I'm very excited to try this out when I get home.

Please let there be a permanent foam finger in those swag bags ;)

Only if it has a cooldown of 5+ minutes. Let the griefers have to fricking wait.

Edit: It's not. But there is one very cool aura. :)

Give bios to all "special guests".

Please increase The Veteran Bag of Holding Most to 30 slots and the Clarence Bag to 28 slots.

Bug: The costume pieces can be purchased again even after unlocking them already.

Gravity Pulse: The flashing lights have been removed from the FX.

    And the world rejoiced!

At least the parts of the world that host Lemurian Invasion and Sky Command.

I don't know, i love the fact i can see a screen full of enemies, then get blinded and then when I can see again, the enemies were gone.

    The Foxbat Event:

First Impression: Kudos! This is really awesome and fun. I had to stop myself from playing it through, as I want to be surprised in April :D

Foxbat cosplayer Spawn: I noticed a Foxbat Cosplayer spawned in the vehicle building. He was hard to click on because he spawned underneath a vehicle. I think he was supposed to spawn behind it, but it was more like he was in the middle. So there were some weird clipping issues.

Suggestion: Please or please add Fox-bat's Ping Pong Gun as a costume weapon unlock! I think it would round out the entire costume set quite nicely!

Thanks again for this. I am strongly resisting to urge to play around with this event! I think this is going to be a huge hit, on live.

The new FoxBat jet-thing is beautiful. I like the new colors on the Broadhead, but I was also happy to see a new color scheme available. With the lack of customization in vehicles, one of the things that keeps me from wanting more of them is they rarely match up with my characters' looks. We've already got a red bike in the Fire Ant. I'd love to see the Broadhead released in a variety of color choices.

    Will relisting cost them again?

Since vehicles sell for quite a bit, this can be a significant cost.

any chance we can get more categories? or some sort of update to the AH system?

I love the addition of a vehicles category, makes life way easier, but I think the AH system in general could use an update with more categories and search and sort functions.

also, could we PLEASE get a sort button for hideout bank?

I'll second this. An aura section would be particularly nice.As far as Foxbatcon, it looks rather , awesome. I would ask for a few wacky items though. Maybe a foam finger weapon device and a ping pong gun. I'm sure our resident clowns would like a halibut heavy weapon skin too.

Just a few things summed up in one screenshot from me.

    sg7nf9.jpg

I know obviously you can change how much of the debris you see, and I don't exactly know if these can cause lag.

More over, the device can cause NPC's to change their animation to the hit animation. I don't exactly know if they ever do reset from this if they are someone like the debugger and that new guy. EDIT: Nevermind, they do reset after a bit. :)

Given that we are having an increase in Action Figures Available with each update (another 3 at least from Foxbatcon) any chance of a (hopefully) simple change to the action figure window as show below:

    ActionFigures_zpsa0516974.jpg~original

    1. A Filter - Allow player to type in part of the name or number of the Action figure and hit search to filter the player's list of unlocked action figures

    2. Search button - to activate above filter

    3. Clear button - to clear filter and show player's entire AF llist

    4. Stow button - rather than having to find or scroll all the way to currently active AF, a simple button at top of the window to stow any active action figure.

oh and while we are at it - can you please make AFs spawn a short distance in front of player - rather than directly between your legs ;)

So while the overpowered stuff that "breaks" these alerts is getting looked at.
Maybe AD (and AO) chaining and voracious darkness (ebon void adv), should be looked at too. Voracious darkness gives more than 100% damage resistance at 10 stacks which is way over the top for a 1 point adv, and I can not imagine being able to chain one AD after another is intended.
Those things can make a dps build at least as durable as a tank that doesn't use them.

    BUG REPORT

Bug Using Masterful Dodge during combat forces the character into a Block animation whenever they dodge an attack. While the character is in this blocking stance, the character is unable to activate other powers. If the player character dodges multiple times in a row, they are unable to act or activate a power until the dodging sequence is over. In some cases this can be for very near the entire duration of the Masterful Dodge power that the player is unable to act.

Where it happens In combat, when enemies are attacking you and masterful dodge is active.

What happens the player character is unable to activate powers and is forced into a blocking stance whenever they dodge an attack while Masterful Dodge is active. If the player character dodges multiple times in a row, they are unable to act or activate a power until they are no longer dodging. In some cases this can be for very near the entire duration of the Masterful Dodge power that the player is unable to act.

**EDIT to add: apparently the powers do activate, most of the time (at times they do not), but the animations don't play while in the blocking stance. some powers also do not display any damage or healing numbers while in the blocking stance, even though it shows the attack or heal was successful in the combat log.

Also, can we get the Legion gear droprates looked at? I won't re-post here, but I started a thread on the issue already Here

I'd love to see all of this, but if I could only pick two? The stow button and a new spawn point for AFs would be ideal.

Along with nbkxs' and chaelk's idea.. if you can manage a vehicle menu (via hideouts preferably) then there should be one for auras as well, even if it's just a list to see who has what. Ideally it would be nice to just have a aura storage that is linked to your account, rather than a massive one useable per character. I understand that logging onto a specific character to remove and add auras/vehicles is how the servers work, but it would save a lot of time for the altaholics to manage their account bound items better.

You know, pricing for Foxbatcon event's items seems a bit off. 350 for a torso costume is a bit pricey, and giving out 65 for the open mission is just as confusing. It also makes the tins of Foxbat tokens available from the Drifter a really bad investment. You could buy out his stock in vehicles for what the classic set costs.

What I would suggest is giving out a smaller amount pf tokens (perhaps 10 per mission) and then pricing the costume bits at 15-25 apiece. Maybe with the swag bag costing 50.

That way its possible to get a fairly complete set without going crazy. Completists can go after Foxy for perks, and the rest of us can just be happy with casual searching.

Of course if the tokens drop randomly from every fallen enemy that'd be a bit different...

    Also:

Bug: The Critical Aura only works with melee attacks, and the effects it puts out are not properly lit. They would be difficult to impossible to see in the dark.

How long is the event suppose to last? Getting enough FB cred is going to be difficult with both the daily quest and 8 day examine restriction. I did the mission and got a total of 77 cred with swag bag drops and the reward. With pieces between 150 and 350 cred each, even a month might not be enough time.

Also could you make the permanent ping pong gun bound to account? 400 cred is steep enough.

Why is the trout on a timer? It's not like it's OP or any thing and it would make for a fun weapon out in a CC.

    FoxbatCon Event

I haven't got that much feedback to give aside from my opinions, as most points (I feel) have been covered by others in previous posts I've looked at.

That being said, I'm liking it so far! It's good to see something new coming to CO. That being said, I am a bit curious about the nature of the event, seems like some sort of mind control or truckload of trouble may come with it.

I like the little bits of information we can glean from NPC's etc. Defender is just....Anyway, moving on, I do like the look of the associated vehicles and costume pieces.

I would urge the development team to place them (at least some of the upcoming vehicles) in the C-Store.

    FB2_zps7b4b051f.png

Foxbat locations are a little harder to locate this time, so that's something interesting...however it may be wise to make them a tad easier to find as it could get tiresome or irritating after a while.

Also (it may just be me) but I didn't see any Foxbats around the area where his Foxbattle Bots are or his rabid fanboys are...is this on purpose?

Some of his locations may not be accessible by those who cannot fly or super jump or own a vehicle, which -may- be another issue, but I'm thinking there are enough locations around MC to place them that grounded heroes can access them.

    FB1_zpsf5306c7a.png

Overall it's interesting to see a new event for CO!

    Ok, so 100 lockboxes:

    1 Skyfox(in box 73)
    1 90s Foxbat Costume(in box 78)
    2 Novelty Gag Arrow
    5 Auras
    11 Drifter Salvage Crates
    13 Questionite Crates
    24 Mod Supply Cases(Green)
    17 Rare modification Case(Blue)
    11 Mercenary's Armor Pack
    2 Legion's Armor Pack
    12 Vehicle Modification Case(Blue)
    100 Booster Box

    Notes:

-Please make the spotlights in the Ren Center untargetable. They like to work their hitboxes in too much and are too easy to accidently click on.

-BUG: The repair for Gravity Pulse is incomplete, sadly. It's the bright flashes and strobe lines that I believe cause the issue...along with the strobing portions of the circles. Kaiserin would know more specifically. PLEASE ask her. PLEASE.

-[Foxbatcon Swag Bag] only stacks to 30. Please increase to 999 just so it's less annoying.

-Being able to only visit a Cosplayer once every 8 days seems needlessly annoying. Perhaps reduce to 2 days or do away with completely.

-Where's the variant on the Skyfox in Brown and Yellow? Come on, it's Foxbatcon!

-Please set cosmic respawn timer to 1-5m for DPS/Survivability Testing. Someone keeps killing them.

-BUG: Someone removed the guy you get the detection item from for "A Bullet Bound for Biselle" when they added Foxbat.

-Please remove cost on vehicle "boost" ability entirely and set it to work for something like 10s with a 15s CD. Tapping this thing like a jackrabbit every few seconds is kind of annoying.

-Please set Foxbatcon AFs to BoE so you can get some for your friends who might miss the event or sell them.

-Please consider either raising the Foxbat Cred Rewards somewhat or lowering the Convention Merchant's prices. In it's current form(considering I've not seen this Phase 2 that hits Monday) it seems a lil steep.

-As previously stated the Foxbat glass cases are pretty cool but there's only 4 of them. Please add a second row on the ledge above the current ones and put in the missing costumes.

Ok, that's all I can think of atm. Perhaps more on Monday.

A glue gun gadget using existing gadget weapon geos would be awesome.

It's just, every time I see the awesome gadget gun from the Pulp theme costume set, it makes me lament the fact that all of our current gadget gun powers are essentially two flavors of sonic-based attacks, and a crazy transmogrifying ray shot, when we can have so much more.
Already we have something LIKE a glue shot with the VIPER Tartrappers and their signature tar rounds. And I've seen several NPC villains (Black Harlequin, for example) use some kind of maintained ray-like attack projected from their guns. Obviously, Foxbat has his signature multi-function ping-pong ball-based gadget gun, which has a similar immobilizing gunk shot, as well as a multiple shot incendiary attack, and some kind of.... expanding ten-ton ball bearing shot.
If we had a few more powers that gave us analogous effects, I'd be happy. Plus, it'd let us fully flesh out the "mystery man armed with just his trusty gadget gun" archtype, a class of hero that is sadly very hard to recreate here in CO without resorting to dual pistol powers and the like.

The new cowls dont have all capes. Each Cowl has one one type of cape.

Can we get this fixed so all capes work with new cowls?
