Hi guys, not posted for a while as i've had pc issues for ages, but just rebuilt and upgraded it so I'm back on the game... erm, as it were ;). Thought i'd start some new heroes too and here's my latest patriotic one, 'Red Star', a web-swinging martial artist.

New pc means I'm also getting back into the digital art, so thought i'd get some much needed practice by doing a bit of photo-manip on the screen shot, i'll post the original ss after. Hope you like :)

    Hello Heroes
Being Canadian I play a lot of heroes who happen to be Canadian but Agent Canada is my truest Patriotic Hero. His original and second look are almost identical as he was both my first Champion and I was still learning the game at the time.
    AC01_zps4ab7d51f.jpg
He is, admittedly, very similar to Captain Canuck but my original Agent Canada came from City of Heroes and I was never able to capture his likeness here. After a lot of the costume content became available to me I made his third suit and while a little chunky looking, it does look a lot like his original suit.
    AC02_zps00efc33d.jpg
My costume isn't terribly complex but then I never thought a Flag-suit should be too far removed from the flag it represents. Me standing beside another iconic Canadian Patriot, Thundrax.

    The Knight (England)

Born into a wealthy and influential aristocratic family, Sir William Percival Cavendish-Portland became 11th the Earl of Castlebridge following the death of his uncle Charles Cavendish. Along with the title Percy also inherited Castlebridge Manor, a large stately home deep in the english countryside. Little did he know when he first stepped over the threshold as the Earl, that he also inherited the family legacy (or some would call it curse) - the mantle of The Knight. The unchivalrous and dastardly behavior of the 2nd Earl, Sir Mordred; had led to the family line being cursed, to be forever called upon in times of need to protect those unable to protect themselves. This in itself was nothing less than would be expected of a knight, however the curse also ensured that each subsequent holder of the title of Earl, would also have to bear the soul of Sir Mordred in order that they should not forget.

All this Percy found out when he opened the private letter left to him by Charles Cavendish, the previous Knight. Along with details of the curse, Charles provided information on the secrets of Castebridge Manor, including the resting place of the armor and sword that should be worn when duty called. That night as he slept for the first time in his new home, he found his dreams filled with dark images of murder, bloodshed and darkness - Sir Mordred had arrived. Charles had borne this curse for over 60 years - how long could Sir William bear it?

    Liath_TheKnight_Preview_zpsb875e42f.jpg~original
    Left: Sir William Percival Cavendish-Portland
Middle: Original Armor as worn by the previous Knight(s)
Right: Percy felt the black armor too dark and foreboding and eventually had a modern uniform designed which he felt more fitting to the aims of The Knight.

    R H I N O (South Africa)

The R H I N O (Robust High-Impact eNvironmental Observation) suit was originally designed for investigation of dangerous environments where an unarmoured human would not survive. The original designs were stolen by ARGENT and were to be used to create a new armored battlesuit for it's operatives. With support of the South African government and UNTIL, the original designer of the R H I N O system was able to infiltrate ARGENT and recover not only his designs (along with the ARGENT revisions) but also a prototype battle suit. During his escape from the ARGENT facility he was able to destroy the remaining records and prototypes; or so he thought. He later discovered that while ARGENT had the information, VIPER was also able to infiltrate and steal the plans for themselves allowing them to create their own R H I N O armor. Funded by the South African government to become their own armored hero, the ARGENT prototype was used to create a weaponised version suitable to fill this role.

Not sure how I missed this thread as I could have sworn I had replied before, must have been an earlier patriotic thread.

Anyhow, here are some of mine:

    ALBION

An old PnP Champions toon remade for CO. His back story is that he is the defending champion of Britain, who arises when he is needed. Previously he has been King Arthur, King Richard the Lionheart, Drake, Nelson, Wellington and Churchill, to name but some. In this age of supervillains, he needs something to give him an edge, so he reclaimed Excalibur, which he renamed X-Caliber, as it has magically adapted to suit the new wielder and can transform from an energy sword to a high tech gun.

    Golden Age:

    screenshot_2012-07-16-02-39-44_zps64379bd2.jpg

    Current:

    screenshot_2012-10-05-20-20-44_zps6d200a1a.jpg

    BRITISH BULLDOG

Originally designed to be Albion's nemesis, as he was in PnP, but I liked the look so ended up playing as an anti-hero. He is overly patriotic, a racist Anglo-Saxon who despises Albion as he got leadership of the Brit Pack, the premier British Super-hero group, which Bulldog thinks he should lead. Pure might build and uses chains to represent dog chains to swing on and hit with.

    screenshot_2012-07-16-02-40-08.jpg

    Reichsadler

An interwar patriotic German hero, who disappeared shortly after the Nazi party came to power. It is unkown at this time whether or not he was killed or he simply retired, but rumour has it there is a new hero flying around the skies of Germany who wears a similar power armour:

    Love the colors.

Thanks, I really like how he came out. He is one of earliest toons, but every time I tried to do a Patriotic colour scheme, it looked too corny. So I went for a brooding look and used the darkest blue and red I could that still suggested the Union Flag.

Here is an Italian hero, The Last Kiss, with his patriotic outfit. He is not a government-paid hero, but wears national colors.

I decided to just keep the color scheme of the Italian flag, but I did not want to use the flag, since it is rather dull.

This is not the current look. At the moment the spikes (the result of a mutation) are metal colored.

Epic work, people! :) Also, what? No Swedish hero yet?!
A bit late to the party, but I humbly give you:

    The Swede

    TheSwede.jpg

Currently on loan to Millenium City from Kungliga Vetenskapsakademien (The Royal Institute of Science), The Swede is helping the Champions deal with the rise of super-powered crime in the aftermath of the Qularr invasion.

Immensely popular in his native Sweden, the Swede shares many of his countrymen's traits, including an almost pathological love of coffee and a more than slight socialist leaning. Humble to a fault, he is always there to lend a helping hand to the needy.

He truly is the peoples' hero!

This is a costume idea I had for a male toon that displays Jamaican heritage by using the colors of the Jamaican flag. Wasn't sure what kind of belt to give him so I just kind-a chose one at random.

    9089613408_405a9d4364_o.jpg

Since I don't play male toons, you don't have to worry about the rare possibility of running into your doppelganger if you use this look. He does use the Golden Age boots for male in this costume.
Well, it's a possibility...I made a character with the same theme. He's on the Primus Database named Rastamon. I've actually used him since my COH days.
    GFrastamonOUTFIT.jpg

I too have a Jamaican hero of sorts, although he is London born of Jamaican parents. He usually wears street/gang inspired clothing, usually leather jackets and trouser and prefers reds, as that was his gang colour, before his powers manifested themselves and he hurt a rival gange member badly. His name is Ghettoblaster, a name I love as it suits him perfectly as he is force/might. I created him in the '80s when I played PnP Champions as part of the Brtish Superhero team the Brit Pack. Here is a link from an old thread where he is wearing the costume that inspired me here: http://www.superbuddies.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=13258&sid=a86a260bb195c8bed07928f3cfbb3746&start=20

    and his original gang look:
