Friend List notes

This is a feature already existing in several MMOs - the ability to write a short note for every person on your friends list. Champions Online ought to have it too.

In some cases it seems pointless - Lisa is on your friends list, you know Lisa, you don't need reminding who Lisa is. But in other cases, when it's someone you only know more casually, it becomes more important, especially since in CO friends are made by account rather than character.

The problem as it stands is that you might friend someone based on a particular character of theirs - an especially good healer for alerts, or a RP character you'd like to chat with again. But then you find that the player in question has lots of active characters and, as time goes on, you forget why you friended them in the first place.

A simple line for each person on your friends list would help a great deal in managing it. Something like:

@Lisa - 'Optiwoman' best healer EVER for alerts! Remember to ask for help with Steel Crusade!
@shooterman - Promised to buy any New Shadows costume pieces
@Bobsy - Met character 'Exile' in Club Caprice - really loved to dance!

That sort of thing.

this would also work on ignore list - so you remember when or why you ignored someone - e.g they were disrupting a CC or were expounding bigotry of some sort.

As a RPer, 99% of the people on my friends list has been added through RPing. After almost 3 years of playing I have done some cleaning of my friends list here and there. Whether it is because they are inactive, someone who I just grew to dislike over time, or they are active just never one to speak to me anymore. While I do clean my friends list probably once every 6 months or so, there are a few on there I wish I remember to who or why they are on my friends list. A lot of them were just first time walk ups and never see them again or they never play that character I met them with so when I see a character never seen before I have to ask myself "Who are they again?"

This is a great suggestion. I end up with a lot of friend list people following a successful trade or me assisting them if they are new, and after a point I have no idea who they are. I have a lot of trouble associating people with @handles.

For a while, I actually kept a separate text file with this sort of notes. Then I got distracted, and forgot to keep it up to date, and now once again I have no idea who half of the list is. Having this sort of feature available in-game would be incredibly useful.
