While a very minor thing, I think it was a mild misstep to do the promos for the new lockbox in Millennium City instead of the desert.

Seems rather specific, going after just the vet cores like that.

Curious why that one took priority over the pff regen bug, or the pvp queue issue.

Because it was an easy fix, and it was potentially spreading veteran rewards to non-vets.

The PFF bug and the queue glitch are harder problems. And, as they would potentially involve major code changes instead of merely adding an "if" statement somewhere, they'd likely involve a blood sacrifice or two, and those are expensive.

That makes sense. However, vet cores should be bound to account (instead of on pickup). I just hate the fact that my 3 existing characters get to keep their dual vet cores, yet any new character I create from now on will be limited to 1 and be at a disadvantage. The whole thing kind of discourages me from creating another character.

Are vet cores really that great? They aren't bad, but I don't feel they are anything of a necessity.

From Champions Online(ARC)....Captain Chronos has reconstructed the King of Sekhen’s appearance. Not much is known about the Pre-Dynastic Pharaoh who ruled Upper Egypt during the 32nd Century BCE, and now with Captain Chronos’ information it only raised more questions.

From Wikipedia....Ka, also (alternatively) Sekhen ruled over Thinis in the first half of 32nd century BCE and was buried at Umm el-Qa'ab. He most likely was the immediate successor to Iry-Hor and was succeeded either by Narmer or by Scorpion II. He is the earliest known Egyptian king with a serekh inscribed on a number of artifacts.

This may thus be an innovation of his reign. Ka is one of the best attested predynastic kings with Narmer and Scorpion II. Beyond Abydos, he is attested in the predynastic necropolis of Adaima in Upper Egypt and in the north in Tarkhan, Helwan, Tell Ibrahim Awad, Wadi Tumilat and as far north as Tel Lod in the Southern Levant.

The number of artifacts bearing Ka's serekh found outside Abydos is much greater than that of his predecessor. This may be the sign of an increasing influence and perhaps conquest of larger portions of Egypt by the Thinite kings.

I also found this, which is pretty cool..........

"The world's oldest surviving personal name is a king represented by the hieroglyphic sign of a scorpion on a Upper Egypt tablet from 3,050 B.C. Some scholars have suggested that the king's name was Sekhen. " *

Also..."Sekhen means both 'to embrace' and 'to fold the wings;' sekhen with a different determinative means 'breast offering' and there was a festival by that name as well".

    And..."scholars, including T.H. Wilkinson, Ren

Nice robotic non-skeletal arms. Something that was long overdue... Now we need a pair of legs to go with arms.
The chariot vehicle could be also duplicated with more magicky skin, like replacing obvious engines with glowing runes?
Something to consider for the future.
    * Disclaimer-I have to add that this is the oldest surviving personal name "outside of the bible"....depending on your beliefs. I don't wanna be bible-stomped
The Bible was scientifically proved to be younger than the oldest Egyptian sources and certainly younger than pre-dynastic Egypt.
So it actually is the oldest surviving name no matter how to look at it.

Of course just because something is older it doesn't mean it's better or makes more sense. There's a good reason why we are no longer living in caves...

Yeah, I was referring to people named in the bible like Adam, Eve et al, not the actual age of the bible. But thanks for the info. Always good to know

Also, the Sumerians myths predate the bible. And names like Adam most likely came from their name for first man, Adama. (something like that) The story of Noah probably came from a sumerian myth also. Another interesting fact, I think Osiris myth about ressurection predates the bible. I could be off on some of this but history is fun for sure.

Interesting stuff Necra. thanks man

Just in-case I was misunderstood (not that I'm saying someone has misunderstood me). My disclaimer was to try and avoid being criticised by anyone with particular religious beliefs.

For the record, I'm an atheist. But whatever floats your boat (talking of Noah).

Seconded on the "I equipped one character with it and then the bug was fixed" thing.

Never gave one away, but damn. Now she's stuck with mercenary gear if I want to keep the same level of super-stat. Or I'd have to dump a ton of Q at the problem. Wish I'da known this was a bug rather than an intended thing. I'd almost rather have not tricked one character out like that. One is disposable, but for some characters stockpiling em is fantastic.

One more useless vet reward, I guess. I know my cascade spammers and power armors won't use em.

They really should be bind on account, once you hit 40. I can see why getting one right off the bat can be bad, but this fully invalidates em for a lot of concepts at 40. Sucks, because you have to either be lts or very far in the vet tree to even get one. Preventing trading to other people? Sure. But at this point I've got 2 of 14 40s they actually work for. It devalues the time I put in, and that's never good. Or the money, for that matter.
