Need some help

Namely in a name and power set idea for this new toon of mine. Though costume opinions and suggestions would also be appreciated of course. Anyway, I made a new toon and well, generally I don't draw too much of a blank on names most of the time though recently this has been a issue. Also power set this time as it were, especially for this guy. Anyway, to wit, I am overall imagining the look to be that of a space cop of sorts, just not sure what kind of name or power set would work since my sub ended and I am back to ATs for the time being (probably won't sub anytime soon again because of my job eats up a lot of my time. I get up at 6:30, leave at 7:30, generally won't get back home till 8-10 pm depending on the day and loadout of customers.)

Anyway, before I get to how he looks, the AT's I currently have are as follows: Inferno (No using, already got one), Soldier (Same deal as inferno), Marksman, Cursed, Glacier, Invincible (In use with my first lv 40 Iron Panzer), Behemoth, Fist, Blade, Unleashed, Devastator, Grimoire... Meh on that one, Radiant and finally Mind.

you could go for mind - uses telepathy/telekenesis to capture, control and question criminals.

As for name..

is he a human, inducted into some intergalactic police force and given powers? In this case go the DC or Marvel route and name him after said Police Force e.g Verdant Lightbringers, Starburst Force (sic)

is he an alien ? make up an alien sounding name or an earthy version of an alien name - for example themightydork has an alien policeman whose real name is RyGhat Skwaght but who uses Riot Squad as his name on earth for ease of the locals


or do what i do when stuck and try some of the name generators at Seventh Sanctum for inspiration (I usually dont end up using names directly but they do spark me down a path when i am stuck)

He looks neat and organized, maybe a bit OCD, so I'd go with something that involves equipment. I could see this guy finding some antique sword and polishing and sharpening it to perfection. I could see him spending his spare time assembling and disassembling his guns. I could see him spending hours putting together just one explosive arrow.

Alright, I believe I have time now to address this, and interesting suggestions. First off, he is a alien, a alien species that was created just before the human species so in a sense, they are cousin races. His name is John Sparr'tix. Why John? His species is pretty human looking bar their less variety in skin, eye, and hair color unlike us humans, so his people visited during the time of the colonies in the united states and so forth in other areas and grew attached to some of the things we do. (Note I am spending my time at work thinking this stuff up.) Now while talking to a friend the suggestion of making him a impulse was interesting, and re-watching the avengers vs graviton fight on youtube, it got me thinking as him being a gravity user who would have nemesises who each used one of the fundamental elements of reality.

Now, for those curious, the four fundamentals are gravitational, electromagnetism, weak and strong nuclear forces. So for his four main baddies (even called the Fundamentals by their boss, who is a pisonic crime boss on their planet, though his species is from a different planet.) That idea was using force for gravity, electric for electromagnetism, infernal for weak nuclear force since WNF deals with things such as radiation decay, and finally Fire for the strong nuclear force... Now that is just one idea overall on the grand scheme of things. (FOrgot to mention he is a space cop, he is part of the Nebula Force, what his planet's police force is.)

To go further detail into that, his people have a genetic fear of faceless enemies, which was caused when his people thousands of years ago defeated a race of creatures that lacked faces. So as payback, they launched a gene bomb that would make them be paralyzed with fear from a faceless enemy (basically, masked.) Well present day the NF uses cops that have their upper part of their face covered to scare crooks (though to not terrorize civilians too much.) John is different though, while members of the Nebula Force are trained to override that genetic fear, John took it to another level by wearing a full face mask.

Now overall, he could easily be made into a Unleashed instead since well I don't have impulse atm. I mainly was putting this up so I could get some ideas... and oh, should of mentioned that while I like the suggestions for marksman... it's never tickled my fancy to be honest. Just comes off too slow in the start of things for me.

Provided you are limited to AT's.

Either the Marksman or the Specialist can pull tech soldier look.

Unleashed can be used with tech blades.

The Disciple can pretend to have energy blades, but on silver AT they will be pink.

I'd really avoid the Impulse. It's a bad AT.

I actually find the Impulse to be the best all around AT, plenty of defense, decent damage perfect for solo PvE

Bellatorrex, I find it interesting that you say your character's race was "created" just before the human race. That implies there was some deliberate agency at work. Regardless of whether or not that's the case, if you'd be interested in connecting your character with the lore of the official Champions Universe, I can think of some background elements that would fit with your character's history as given, and might suggest some names or power sets. I can describe them if you'd be interested.

Everything in CO is decent for solo PvE. That's hardly an achievement.
