There are no more tests. This isn't a test. This is launch, whether people believe it or not. That's why Founders got their five-day headstart, and there will be no more character wiping.
TC, your problem is that you think Cryptic is ever going to actually put DnD into this game, outside of references to books based on DnD. They won't. It's too hard, apparently.
STO a bunch of ships and equipment (spacesuits, for example) that are quantifiably better than what's available in-game outside of the shop. That isn't cosmetic - that's paying for power.
I got it. I'm not sure exactly which one got me there, but I looked up some Half Life 2 console commands and entered this in the command line: -h 720 -w 1280 -window It made the game launch in Windowed Maximized mode, getting me into the game without a problem.
I don't know yet, but they sell power in the CO and STO stores, before and after PWE bought them out, and both were supposed to be "cosmetic-only" cash shops. Anyone not expecting the exact same thing here eventually is fooling themselves.
It was worth a shot, but it didn't work - all I get is a black screen with some music in the background. I also tried /x:1280 /y:720 and x 1280 y 720, to no avail.
Maybe I didn't make it clear - I cannot see the game in its stock resolution because it isn't compatible with my monitor. As such, I can't launch the game at all to change it. I need to force it into a resolution my monitor is capable of displaying. I don't have this issue with CO or STO, just here.
The game may not be full-on Pay-to-Win, but there will be power sold in the C-store, that's only available in the C-store, which is directly against their promise of a "cosmetic-only" cash shop. And grinding for AD to sell on the exchange for ZEN doesn't change that it's paying for power, since someone has to buy that ZEN…
According to the CO and STO forums, WINE works excellent in those games. Since the basic code base will be the same with NW, there's no reason to believe it won't here, too.
While true in general, you're overstating the actual success this brings in - remember that Windows has almost a 94% of the marketshare worldwide. Apple's only got 4-5%, with all of the Linux distros making up the rest. Considering the fact that those remaining six percent have ways of getting the game running pretty well…
We won't get a key. Apparently, our accounts are already updated, and we'll have access as soon as the servers open on Friday. Just download the launcher and patch up. I'm just curious about what time it'll be up on Friday.
People who defend Cryptic are always changing definitions to things. First it was "cosmetic," then "exclusive." Most recently, it was "Dungeons and Dragons." Whatever they gotta say or do to make it seem like Cryptic has done no wrong whatsoever, they'll do. Best not get worked up about it. Just play the game until you get…
Since it's free, I'll likely have a bit of fun, until I get bored. That is the beauty of it, though - I can quit, won't be out anything, then pop in every six months or so and see if they've added anything I like.
My first character will be a Human Ranger, because no Fantasy MMO developer would be stupid enough to launch a fantasy MMO - a DnD one, no less - without a Ranger. Oh, wait.... Well, then I guess I'm going to have to make him a Human Two-Weapon Fighter, since no DnD MMO would be worth playing without the ability for a…
