An interesting bynote regarding these discussions of arp and dr for pvp is that everybody will have much effective resistance ignored, which means that tank players, like the GF and anybody who has a high DR will be in big big trouble. Addionally, it could mean that most people will get killed even more quickly than before.
Lets face it GS is not perfect but nothing is. If we compare it to real life, and say that a 20K GS is the same as somebody who is a director or senior partner of a company and a 4K GS is the intern, it starts to make sense. A director does not usually hang out and do things with interns and the same is true of the game.
This is so normal. I used to be a member of a "progressive guild" and it just got boring. I mean how many times can you ran Frozen heart or any other dungeon before becoming brain dead. Of course if you like helping new players that's fine, but it's dull, dull, dull. The guild didn't PVP much and when it did they didn't do…
Only if you fail the skirmish or dungeon repeatedly....you like wasting time? And why should I or any other player carry a team? The low GS is just free riding and contributing very little. And we have not established that I am a bad player..are you a gypsy can you read fortunes? Or perhaps you are one of those altruistic…
Personally I think the Gear score system is fine and here is why. In PVE, with pugs I would rather run with a higher GS than a player with a lower GS, but I am willing to give everybody the benefit of the doubt. Of course a higher GS is no guarantee that they are any good but if we take into account the paingiver chart as…
Assuming that the drow sets are part of a bigger development, perhaps the Huge or medium sized surprises, the devs have hinted at, which would have to be something PVP orientated. Could this more PVP maps or perhaps PVP tournaments...
I would probably wait for the Drow PVP set, but in terms of PVP, the current choice is really only Corrupted and Purified. Both are great, depending upon your play style. Thau is good but the defence is poor so although you do good damage with the 4 set bonus, it's too easy to get hammered. Corrupted is the offensive set,…
I can appreciate the author's wish for Shard of Avalanche to be unnerfed and brought back to it's former glory. Firstly, In PVE it was the capstone for CWs, it did a lot of damage and proned enemies. It was great and with multiple CWs it become a real easy dungeon clearer. It was easy enough to have a party of 3 CWS and…
At Last a player who is intelligent and understands the issue. Like I said, TR needs to be balanced out, as we are seeing premades of 4 TRS and DCS, which is frankly silly. Even in Mod 4 when CWs were buffed and they were killing people left right and centre, it was still I mean when you have a situation where a low GS TR…
The fact is, as a CW with a high, above normal ARP, and geared equipment, I reckon it would be hard but not impossible to kill you, I might get lucky, but it would take a long, long time, with your excellent defence. but in your example above against the TR, this becoming a common place occurrence in PVP. I myself have one…
Just wondering why you don't use Snap Freeze? As in PVP the first person you strike and for that matter many enemies have not been effected by chill previously. That's a 10% damage increase that could be had. I know your build is renegade so that might be it.
Warlocks are not good in PVP, ask anybody. They are easy to kill. TRS, or rather one pathway is the issue in PVP at the moment. Perhaps you would tell everybody how exactly to fight them....steal time...ice terrain..no...as it is impractical against other classes. And how on earth can you fight somebody who kills you with…
From a CW perspective, one of the current TR builds in PVP is a problem not just to me but to all other classes. Before Mod 5, I agree TRS were not as strong as they should be. Yes, a perma stealth TR was annoying, but they didn't do a lot of damage. And yes TRs in general did not seem to do a lot of damage, unless they…
But.....it's not enough (from a CW) to say you have to adapt. How can you possibly adapt to the TR when they can one shot you? I'm not even talking about geared players either. With full pure, HP enchants etc etc, TRs can one shot you. And if they don't then they use smoke bomb which reduces your HP down to half, go into…
I PVP a lot and as a CW, who is reasonably geared, I have noticed that Trickster rogues have become much much more deadly than in the previous module. It's really not fun being killed by a one shot. This is with wearing full purified gear with a damage resistance of 34%, especially given the rogue that did it had a…
No CW is forced to use shield on Tab at all. They just shows your lack of experience in PVP or if it's not that you either deficient in gear or skill. To see a CW using shield on tab is not common in PVP, and even less so in Premades. A shield won't help you, just takes a fraction longer to kill you. However, should you…
Interesting build Mike, really looking forward to the rest of it! In regard to your feats, why do you have 0/5 in snap freeze, and 2/3 in blighting power? For example in pvp, it's highly likely that you will be the only one applying chill onto a target either through rays, CS, COI, ray of frost, so by not taking snap…
Well, back when I was running a glass cannon build (high viz and no tenacity) in a pug, we faced off with a premade, a very well known PVP guild, and I had a 1 to 1 with their well known cw. Sure, I reduced him to half HP, but I didn't have ice knife ready and my encounters were all used up. He just absorbed the damage and…
I'm afraid Zheng is right. In premade matches, CWs need that many HP and regen just to survive and they still can get killed relatively easily, as any good pvp player will target the wizards first. In pugs its a different matter, you can run glass cannon builds and run around with less than 30K HP and kill lots of people.…
I would say you are 100% right. Just now I killed 20 people in one match, 2nd in points and we won the match. All the people on my team had GS of over 11K (I'm 15.3k GS) The next match my team has 3 9K GS people and we get wiped out completely. I don't mind losing, but I do mind if the odds are seriously stacked againgst…
Following is a 1v1 comparison. Obviously 5v5 team mechanics alter this balance. But this is my attempt to show how unbalanced the "triangle" is. The 1v1 comparison was made on the assumption of the only available PVP maps. Domination being the only one, meaning survival. If you can survive vs a class for more than a…
