I was hoping to see some actual numbers for how effective they are, such as for the Plasma Distribution Manifold- how much extra weapon power does it provide?
As it appeared onscreen it showed that the Odyssey class looks way better from above than it does from below, and because when you're flying it you're looking at it from above you're only seeing the good side most of the time :D
Same here, ran it twice just to be sure. Also noticed it's not offering all mark types as the choice of reward, only Terran and fleet. And for my smaller toons that don't have many marks to convert to dil, this is the only way they can gain enough ore.
It all comes down to one thing- are the ships good enough to be worth the price? I've never bothered with any of the Vesta variants, however I notice the legendary Caelian actually does have a better 4/2 weapon layout than the 3/3 that science ships come with. Has anyone bought this and how is the ship to fly?
In the end, I had to partly fund this myself- it was nearly 15K for the 3 out of 8 selection and I'd managed to convert 10K via dil, the remaining lots of dil I have for sale wouldn't have covered the rest so I got the 6K pack. And this was with 13 active characters all refining dil, definitely one of those First World…
It suits Cryptic\PWE for the exchange rate to be maxed because it means dil doesn't go as far and therefore players have greater incentive to pay real money for Zen. A better dil sink than the endeavour re-rolls would be re-rolling the three choices available when spending perk points, it's frustrating when you're faced…
What would be more useful would be to re-roll the 3 choices you get when you have a perk point available to spend. It's frustrating as hell when you earn a point only to be faced with three ground bonuses as a reward.
It causes hull damage right away, if you have the non-linear progression trait slotted and you put your ship in reverse at the start you can get the endeavour very reliably. I tried this first with my Klingon recruit character when I saw the DoT was only 1 (said character doesn't have any such consoles yet). To rule out…
The problem with the Phoenix packs is that making them permanently available was a mistake. When they were only around at certain times they created a noticeable drop in the dil:zen exchange rates because they caused a spike in demand for dilithium, by making them available all the time that effect goes away.
Right now the best dilithium items are phoenix packs, though IMO making them available permanently was a mistake. When they were only around at certain times they would create a spike in demand which in turn would drive the exchange rate down. Of course what the devs will likely do instead is to raise the cap above 500,…
It's why the summer events become important for new captains as it provides an efficient way to generate marks for the dozen or so reputations currently available, and for existing captains accruing the newest marks to the same levels as the other marks, which in some cases runs into the thousands or tens of thousands. The…
You must mean across all characters, because there's zero point in levelling ships on the same character that result in duplicate traits being unlocked.
I don't see this being very useful for endgame characters since they would already have an all-purple complement of BOFFS anyway having replaced the free ones gained from levelling. Or perhaps I take such a thing for granted since I have many account-wide BOFFs that as with ship slots I'm always struggling for room in my…
That's the thing, we have a ship that has a primitive design yet is supposed to be more advanced than the Akiraprise. It's presumed it was launched when the NX-01 was decommissioned after the events of TATV when the Federation was founded.
The mission has been around for long enough that only a total noob would be struggling to figure it out. Of course the most obvious answer to forming competent groups is to join one or more of the channels since you're no longer dependent on the rest of your group being online simultaneously. As for which channels, I don't…
So with the cross faction all 3 ships in the first Kelvin pack will be claimable for each character, making obtaining all 3 set consoles possible? I'm still in 2 minds, is there really any reason to pick the Spockmobile over the heavy destroyer?Booo I was hoping for a double XP to master these new ships and they've…
The 100% T6 ship coupons are of as little use as the epic phoenix tokens, I've had a handful of those drop but nothing to spend them on, and previous events have given me various 50% and 100% off coupons, the only one of those I spent was to get the Titan. I have a few experimental upgrades but they're too awesome to use…
Question is, is the torpedo launcher enough of a reason to choose the Jellyfish over the Kelvin heavy destroyer considering all my builds are focused on energy weapons?
I can see what they're doing with offering the Kelvin Connie despite it already being in the 10th anniversary bundle and rendering 1/3 of Kelvin pack 1 worthless, because combined with the other two ships in the pack and the Vengeance it completes the Alternate Timelines Set- presumably all 4 ships can be claimed on the…
Buying additional ship slots becomes very expensive indeed when you have a dozen or so active characters, so unless account-wide ship slots become a thing it's a non-starter. Whenever there's new ships a double-XP event becomes practically mandatory to master these new offerings.
I don't like the direction the Mudd packs are taking, if there are 8 items you should be allowed to choose 4, not 3. The ships are the only items in the pack worth having it becomes a case of which of the four ships do I not want? And this doesn't even begin to address the elephant in the room of not having anywhere near…
