I don't recall this happening on the PC during the event, but is happening all the time over on PS4 now as well. Perhaps something changed in the last weeks...
Still happening today. I checked this - and bloomquality and dynamiclights were already set to 0 on my system. Bloomintesity was set to 1, changed to 0, no difference. For anyone who wants to fiddle with it - file is called gameprefs.pref, and is located under Star Trek Online\Live\localdata, but it didn't help my machine.…
Mine crashes using the original launcher (no Arc or Steam). It doesn't crash until it tries to load the character models - so depending on their computer, it may make no difference. I'm lucky that I have other PCs that load in.
I don't believe ARC is the factor - my Surface Pro 3 was setup using the original installer (no Steam, no Arc, no Epic). Still crashes to desktop a few seconds after the character list comes up. ESD background shows, and it pauses for a few seconds like it is trying to load the character models, then crashes. But to answer…
My Surface Pro 3 is affected, it would be Intel HD 4400. Over in the other thread about the black boxes, it seems GTX 9 series and below are affected. 1050Ti and 1650 are not, but even relatively powerful cards like 970, 980, and 980Ti ARE. Whatever happened on November 2, STO became more graphics "hungry".
Not that there's anything left to do there now that consumables are next to useless - but this does break some doffing, and more importantly - could break Omega event in a few months time. Hopefully temporary, and maybe if we're lucky - we'll get something new - I really like sirsitsalot's idea above. Heck, even just…
My Surface Pro 3 crashes to desktop from the character select screen, all my other computers load in at least. With any luck support is right, and they'll sort at least some of it out tomorrow.
Tried it on my MIL's i3-2100 and GTX 660 and problem exists there as well. My Surface Pro on Integrated Graphics straight up crashes to desktop at the character select screen after trying to load in - so no idea if it would do it there. I see we're getting patched tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Clearly something happened with…
750Ti is more than enough for STO, it is pretty decent, considering some run on integrated graphics. It seems everyone who has encountered the issue and reported their graphics card is running 9 series or below. It would be interesting to see if anyone comes in with a more recent card. My 1050Ti isn't doing it,…
Weird - I'll try Sphere of Influence later today. Power Source worked for me when I turned off 2.0. Edit: Tried it now..behaves the same as Power Source for me. 2.0/Bloom On just like screenshot above, 2.0/Bloom Off some better, but still ridiculously bad. 2.0 off, works fine. W10, 4770K, 980Ti. Latest patches.
Same. I went in and poked around - with bloom on the screen is comically bright. Turn bloom off and it is still unplayable, but not as bright. Turn Lighting 2.0 off and the map looks OK and is probably playable as expected. Something about yesterday's patch changed bloom/lighting 2.0 - the other thread I am in, having…
I turned off bloom as kalim did above, and it did stop the boxes on my 980Ti. Just checked my the other PC and bloom is turned on with the 1050Ti. I wonder if the texture failed to load during patching, or perhaps there is something with the 9 series cards it doesn't like. I'm certainly not replacing a 980Ti to play STO,…
Same here - i7-4770k with 980Ti, strangely it is not doing it on my i5-4430 with a 1050Ti. Both Windows 10, all patched up. Kern patrol was painful - I hope they can track and fix quickly.
Good thing the community manager only works days....oh...yeah. Well, at least the german twitter tweeted. /s For a company that wants me to spend upwards of 60 bucks to upgrade all my toons' ships, and another 60 to pad our my 300 dollar legendary pack, think they could afford to let us know what is happening... Yes, I…
I don't think it is coming, but I would not be jaw on the floor surprised if the anniversary bundle is accessible by KDF. Usually anniversary bundles are linked to the event ship in some form or another, and the event ship is the ship of "peace and prosperity".
I too would love an update on these episodes. The Klingon War chain is now a truncated shell, it feels like The Klingon Skirmish, and I don't see why I should care about anything that happens without a "boss". More importantly, these episodes were updated with new VO of the DS9 characters mere weeks before they were pulled.
I think the new queue system looks much better. I really do. That said, it is broken. It is broken on release. Cryptic has a track record of releasing unfinished and buggy content and straight up not fixing it. The map merge, which was something I looked forward to for a very long time, has still left doffing in a busted…
