Still an issue. They have patched NUMEROUS times. Still no idea what on earth impacts it so it actually loads for me once in a blue moon. To be honest, I sincerely cannot find a set of circumstances that triggers it to work. A clean reboot, doing NOTHING other than loading the game, it will not work.

I previously tried XP compatibility. But just tried it with Windows 7 compatibility as suggested, & also as Admin (for good measure). I've never had to do this before to get the game working on this machine, and it did not help. Thanks for the idea. No go.

Well, there was a suggestion there about installing (reinstalling) dx9c, so I did that. Didn't help. No change. Also, On Cryptic Support forum they indicate to update Java. Mine is 8.101 (latest). So bring a second character into that fleet, and it will work. You basically need 2 characters in each fleet to keep this working

I was a little stunned too. Perhaps YMMV? I later closed the game and reloaded it, and at no point did I lose access to any of three different fleet chats. All I can say is to try getting in, if it doesn't work, ensure you have recently joined the fleet with a char to cover that base, and then reconnect to the game. Let us…
