It was very fun watching the "old" technology evolve. It was interesting to see how people were afraid of the transporter, how they used it only for cargo and not for people. It was interesting to see that before the Federation all was not happy, instead there was a degree of mistrust even between allies. It was fun…

The main problem with the Arc website is that it has no identity beyond "standard online gaming shop". The STO and the NWN websites should have distinct color schemes, different borders, graphics, logos and so on, specific to the game in question, while keeping the Arc layout for consistency.
So how will be that any different from what we're already doing ? Not to mention that the active powers will remain T5, so if you want to fill those 4 active power slots, you will still need to grind to T5.
This actually sounds like a great idea, considering that we will be able to change them for free whenever out of combat. The old (current) reputation system had a big problem in my opinion: what if I wanted two powers from the same Tier ? For example both powers from T3 Omega. Now I can have them both activated, at the…
The issue is most certainly account related; the anti virus only deals with virus stuff that's on your computer. Maybe there is some sort of spyware or keylogger, but if that's the case, then the damage has already been done. At most you can and should change your password after doing a complete anti spyware or keylogger…
The main objective of ARC, just as any always-on "launchers", is to push "in your face" advertisements of the respective publisher's games. So let's try to drop the talk about "unified platforms", " or "improving gaming experience" and any other complicated terms that mean NOTHING. A launcher should be just that - a…
Well, custom interiors was apparently a feature they thought about from the very beginning. Unfortunately, even though the button exists, it has been disabled since launch. Only custom space maps can be created. Neverwinter's Foundry is superior in every way imaginable. Hopefully the STO Foundry will some day finally get…
By design, loading a system map or a planet surface/starbase map cannot be done without loading screens. It just can't. There is no actual real way that the loading screens can be skipped when entering a system or a planet's atmosphere. Unless anyone wants the game to demand more resources in order to seemingly load an…
I have this bug too, but found a small workaround. 1. select new patterns - you can change the colors (and see them take effect) only after you've changed all patterns 2. remember to always save the new configuration before you exit 3. sometimes it is best to log out then back in, after you've purchased 4. if by chance the…
No one said anything about porting the game into STO. But rather how a 4X mini-game can be implemented in the future exploration system. It can be very easily both a single and a multiplayer component, even part of the PvP revamp they've been hinting at.
Good memories :D A game like Birth of the Federation within STO would be absolutely incredible. A 4X Strategy game within an mmo - I can't really ask for more. Unfortunately I don't know how possible that is, even as a mini-game. But hope dies last.
10% of this "review" is generic talking about the actual gameplay. 90% of this "review" is complaining about the server instability. I am 80% sure that you just tried to find an excuse to cry about the severs (because we REALLY need another thread about this), but disguised it into a "review". Look, there is no reason to…
I buy from Cryptic, even small stuff like uniforms or bridges, because of two reasons: 1. they are well designed and look/feel very Star Trek'ish 2. supporting a game with unique very diverse gameplay that is being offered for free About the last question: STO is a unique game. Now that may sound a bit strange, but it is…
I don't think it should be an actual weapon. But it would be nice to have it working outside Wonderland, like the other devices. As long as it won't be an actual weapon (deal damage), I am okay with the idea.
Remember "A Matter of Honor" (TNG S2 E8) where Riker becomes First Officer on a Klingon ship? He fought and defeated a Klingon to earn his rank. I do not believe that Klingons are physically superior to Humans. One aspect is that they are usually taller and bulkier than Humans, so that gives them an advantage. Second, they…
