Except JJ's style isn't the only way. His take on Star Trek (aforementioned lens flares and all) could have gone any number of (better) ways and not been a steaming pile. The movies were tolerable summer popcorn cinema at best. They should have been better.
It's not official canon, but the Prime Directive RPG did establish five races as conquered subjects of the Empire who serve in the KDF. So I think we could make the argument for other conquered races to be in, even if PD's Dunkar, Slirdarian, Hildarian, Cromarg, and Zoolie aren't included. KDF races don't have to be…
Since the KDF have fewer race options than Feds, I think any addition is good. Rather than the Vaadwaur (who I think would make a better antagonist race like the Breen), I'd like to see the Turei added to the KDF as well.
That's assuming technology has a direct correlation to time passed. Depending on how badly the Iconians were trounced, and what sort of social events happened in the intervening millenia, they might not have progressed.
Good advice m0rdr4k, thank you! dahminus: I'm unemployed right now, so time and grinding isn't really a factor. I need to learn how to get dil and convert to zen though I believe. I'm mainly interested in PvE and just tooling around to see what the game has to offer. Beyond that, I'm still only a couple weeks into the game…
Inigo Montoya had a scar on each cheek from when he dueled Rugen at age 11. Whether or not that makes him beautiful or ugly is a subjective value judgement dependent upon the observer (as in your evaluation of Jonah Hex). Bad Ash from Army of Darkness isn't really a fair comparison either - he's a rotting demonic…
I thought the concept of (subjective) beauty as virtue went out a few centuries ago. There are plenty of examples of fictional heroes with scars as well: Inigo Montoya, Marv, Harry Potter, Jonah Hex, Odysseus, et. al.
I just started playing last night, and my wife is following suit tomorrow; we've played a lot of MMOs together and it seems like your fleet is the sort of group we enjoy being a part of. I'll see if I can figure out how to send you a message tonight. Thanks!
