Sto DPS League has some great suggestions for ground builds for Sompek. Looks solid, but I have very little experience with playing an engineer on ground, so unsure if its optimum.
Same here. I've run the space PvP queues as part of the endeavour and just ended up disgusted and frustrated. In ground there's less latitude for instagib meta-builds and I can hold my own, to a degree, but it seems conspicuous that no sooner does a PvP endeavour roll around that the queues are full of teams that can all…
The, "whatever" reason is that you have elite marks coming out of your ears for pretty much any other reputation, bar these. It's a bit of a nightmare when you're trying to amass enough of them for your engines and the costume unlocks etc. YOU might be content to wait 5 days to get one piece of gear, but your solution…
I've tried repeatedly recently to get teams to queue using RedditChat and the in-game dps invite channels. Also tried zone chats and NoP public service to get groups to queue. No-one will touch them, because of a pathological fear of PvP in this game. Can't say I blame them. PvPers can instagib most players in the space of…
I don't count the Operations Warbirds as "proper" sci ships, I'm prejudiced :) If it has a hangar bay...and the only other candidate I can think of is the Laeosa. If you're fed aligned, you can pilot the fed sci vessels anyway, but you lose out on the singularity powers and the cloak if you aren't piloting a warbird.…
Would buy the Edison in a sci setup, but really don't need another escort, as I don't play tactical much these days. Could really use another sci ship with the Temporal/Molecular powers. The Nautilus spaceframe offends my eyeballs.
It just seems a bit inconsistent with regards to what they can wear and what they can't. All my zen store and promotional uniform unlocks in the Loose category can be used, sans collars, shoulders and sci kits etc, but next to nothing in the Tight jacket department. Oh well, not to worry. I can always use other boffs for…
Piloting a T5-U Nova on my dsc toon. Patiently waiting for a T6 release. Other than that, Verne on my sci main. I'm easy to keep happy ship-wise
The patch notes mention nothing of the sort. The tokens are account bound, not character. It's not an unreasonable assumption that you can transfer the tokens to all other characters to redeem the marks, as the patch notes do not explicitly state you cannot do so. I have 3 chars with maxed reps, ALL can redeem the tokens…
I honestly don't understand the design philosophy behind this. The damage is nerfed to trade off for the extra firing arc, but it flies against the concept of a beam bank build. The extra firing arc is redundant, because if you use DBB's, the target has to be in your forward firing arc for the otehrs to work anyway. Plus,…
Could do with a T6 Assimilated vanity shield on the Omega T6 rep, while they're at it. I agree on the costume unlocks too. I have all but one of the required accolades. Frustrating not being able to do it and get those unlocks :'(
That sure is an...interesting ship design. Them nacelles though? Wondering what the provenance of this is. Where does it stand within the Starfleet timeline, what is the design rationale of this hull, did it have a specific role, which was reflected in the aesthetics, or did some draftsman at Utopia Planitia Ship Yards…
I appreciate that, but it's possible we may get an incarnation of this ship in STO, "Speaking of Star Trek Online, it seems the Star Trek MMORPG is interested in bringing the Emmett Till into its timeline as the game’s official Twitter account made sure its lead starship artist, Thomas Marrone, was aware of the new ship’s…
They had an opportunity to fix this with the T6 Verne. Instead it's more of the same with the Klink and Rom versions of these ships. Ergo: they don't care.
Yeah, from point 16 onwards you start getting credit for the Gamma Recruit spec completion counts. Hopefully the fix will be retroactive and we'll get credit for the previously spent 15 points.
There's no shortage of bearded fanboi's and Cryptic white knights in this forum. Anything critical of this game is immediately met with a barrage of vitriol from the resident keyboard warriors.
The rewards start to unlock after you spend 15 points. It then starts counting points spent after that, apparently because Vanguards start at -15 points. There's so much stuff broken with Vanguards and the Gamma Recruit event I wonder what, if any, quality control they have at Cryptic these days.
As someone with 2 x Rom 60's, I can't say I'm too happy about this. Yes it's great that I no longer have to double up on ship buys to have comparably equipped toons and God knows my Rom admiralty deck left a lot to be desired, but rom captains have great personal and boff trait advantages. True they give up singularity…
Voyager was a science ship and built as such, with a secondary deflector etc. It would make zero sense to have a warship version of it as in canon, sci ships where research/exploration vessels and shielded and weaponed as such. In-game it would be sort of pointless, why bother with a tac-heavy seating Pathfinder/Intrepid…
My bad. I thought the bug had been added to the last revamp of the Infinity lockbox. I've not played STO for quite some time until recently. Seems to be a glut of them on the market currently, whereas before they seemed quite scarce.
I've been pottering around on the Internet since its early days and it never ceases to amaze me how much gets lost in translation, when you're all supposedly speaking the same language. I made a perfectly reasonable suggestion that very rare ships should be account unlocks, or their traits should be. It's alt-friendly and…
Been flying my T5-U bug since I came back to the game about a month ago. Love it on my fed tac officer. Shame about the lockbox winners gouging the exchange with silly asking prices, when other T6 Infinity prize ships fetch circa 300-350k, but hey ho, one day the T6 will be mine :)
Maybe a tiny minority. Rest of us don't have all day every day to grind dil, or buy Zen and play lockbox lottery, or sell keys to get the stuff they want. I can see why my fleet has all but abandoned this game. Money sinks everywhere you look and a toxic community that sneer at everyone that's not a hardcore min-maxer.
