They expect otherwise because Cryptic should know better. There are plenty of examples they could have learned from in MMO launch history and the player base has repeatedly said on these forums that they should fix their server issues for this release.

I figured out why STO is F2P. If it's never online then you don't have to pay them to play it. It's genius! It's also very frustrating to us, the player base. I'm going to be polite about this for now. Please inform us as to the issue. What is the problem that is knocking the servers offline?

Now I'm no pro by any means but I prefer to carry a single torp up front and the kinetic cutting beam on the back along with x6 phaser arrays. I am unsure if the problem was fixed but I have noticed that in a few of the Borg related red alerts there are huge white sploches that seem to create huge lag when you have your camera aimed towards them. (Yes I have tried not looking at them but that's kind of difficult when fighting cubes and the borg dreadnought.)…
