Has anyone else figured out how to run the Tau Dawa Red Alerts on any kind of regular basis?
It seems that it is in a continual reset mode with no indication of when it will finish; once in a rare while you can run it.
At least the the Borg missions at Ker'rat shows a countdown to reset.
Edit: Sorry... Tau DEwa.

I initially had looked through the Release Notes and did not find any mention... I finally found some posts referring to the Red Alerts... It looks like it's been bugged since the release of the season.
It appears that Cryptic is leaving it in (and not fixing it) as a reminder that there are bugs in the game...

It has been bugged since release, and many are frustrated, and has easily lead to such statements that it's not a priority...
As far as we know though, the devs simply don't know what's causing it yet. And without that knowledge, all the other steps of fixing and testing are useless (just like being unable to do mission 2 in a doff chain, until 1 is complete).

Been playing STO since Open Beta, and have never regarded anything as worse than 'meh', if only due to personal standards.
It seems to work very randomly (when it feels like it), and has nothing to do with how fast you click after the alert pops is all I can say. Keep trying.
I don't do the daily stuff it does my head in!! STF's etc aren't too bad good rewards for 20-30 mins play on the long ones but the daily ones just are too boring to keep doing over and over!!
Since the Red Alerts have not been fixed despite being like this for a very long time, we could assume its "working as intended" - just like a lot of the other very very long outstanding bugs like a certain KDF Doff chain sets.

You mean the Biogenic Weaponization Chain?
In case you haven't checked the Doff subforum recently, Bort has found out the reason why this has been happening, and is fixing it It hasn't been in a patch note yet, but no doubt it's coming
And I might add he posted that reply on 2/23, about two weeks ago

The sad thing is that this was an issue with the borg red alerts for the longest time, then they fixed those and all was good.
Then they released the tholian red alerts and it reintroduced this bug back into the wild, now both borg and tholian red alerts are doing the same thing.
It seems they may have injected a piece of old code back in when they started the tholian RAs, should be simple enough to fix since they have already done so once... but no, sadly it seems this will continue to be ignored.
In a recent interview Stahl indicated they were looking at a new way to do red alerts coming in the may update, so for now we have to deal with a broken system and the STO populace that is starved for romulan marks as a result.

Thanks for the replies confirming this fact. I wonder if they tried recreating the mission from scratch.
Oh well... Thanks again, folks.

I am unsure if the problem was fixed but I have noticed that in a few of the Borg related red alerts there are huge white sploches that seem to create huge lag when you have your camera aimed towards them. (Yes I have tried not looking at them but that's kind of difficult when fighting cubes and the borg dreadnought.) Anyone know if this is a problem for others or if it's just my computer?

That's the new J.J. Abrams effect that Cryptic is adding to space scenes in Red Alerts...
Just Kidding... I think that it is supposed to be a nebula but it is just way too bright. There have been planets like that on some missions, they look like bright yellow suns but they are really planets. That's my estimation anyways.

They should just convert it over to an PVE queue mission and be done with it since they can't fix the current system.
That^
When players accept the Tau Dewa daily or click on the Red Alert button, they are automatically added to the queue so that they automatically enter the encounter when the mission starts.
Right now the encounter AI start sequence seems to have a player detection process that's rigged such that if it detects too few players it aborts, which it should not do while the alert flag is set and kicks everyone out rather than simply waiting for more players before beginning the sequence. It's either not detecting players in the instance or the abort timeout is far too short.
Barring the use of a queue launch, it should run for a predetermined length and disregard player numbers entirely, starting the sequence whether players are present or not, then players can join or leave at any time while the red alert flag is up. If the red alert runs every hour then an hours time should be sufficient for players to complete the alert mission as well as objectives for the daily before the mission resets itself.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.

That's a big that's at least several months old. There's a big thread about it somewhere, but I don't have the energy to dig around for it. I think they're still working on it.
I find it quite hilarious that the Tau Dewa Red Alerts still haven't been fixed after all this time.

Getting so sick of warping into a finished instance when it pops up for the first time when one has been in sector for 15 minutes or longer. I hope this gets fixed soon.
If you are looking for an excellent PvE fleet consider: Omega Combat Division today.

When you quoted "Working as intended" i thought at first you were referring to the cloaking devices which are broken but "Working as intended" lol

It is a peculiar phenomenon that we can imagine events that defy the laws of the universe.
