I just logged back on today after months of not playing. So, after spending a couple hours downloading it on Steam, 20 minutes or so creating a character, I had major rubber banding at the Academy. It took me 5-10 minutes longer than usual to do the skipped tutorial stuff because of the lag. Then I beamed up to ESD and…
My enthusiasm isn't quite dead, but it's on life support. I haven't played this game in a few months because I've been busy, but what I found when I logged on yesterday made me unhappy. I've been with the game since season 4, so I've seen a number of changes. Some good, some bad and some very ugly. Unfortunately, most of…
It would be nice if they at least added this to the release notes, so that those of us who are playing that part of the game for the first time in months (or, people who are playing for the first time and stumbled upon that mission) would know to avoid it. Now I have a mission up that I can't finish or drop because this…
Really, the whole kit system is borked right now, as is usually the case when Cryptic releases "new and exciting" features. Not only do none of the normal ground equipment vendors I've tried sell the modules, but the kit modules themselves also require the wrong rank. IE: MK II gear is Lt. gear, but the kit modules require…
I only managed to get a module for my Romulan because I transwarped to ESD and beamed to the Academy and did a lore mission for dilithium. Thanks for the hassle, Cryptic.
According to the release notes, the modules are supposed to be available for energy credits, but I haven't seen any for EC. I've only seen them in the dilithium store. That really sucks if you're a Romulan, because Romulans can't even earn dilithium at lower levels. I bought a kit for my Centurion that has no modules and I…
I disabled post-processing and the graphics look normal. I guess that feature either doesn't work right, or it just doesn't work right with my graphics card. (GeForce 9500GT)
Yeah, they definitely messed up the graphics with the Season 9 release. This is what the ships look like every time I'm in the Vulcan system: http://evilgenius180.files.wordpress.com/2014/05/vulcan.jpg Aside from that major error, I've noticed that the graphics just don't look as crisp and nice as they did previously. I…
I don't normally complain about things in this game, but who decided we needed to face less enemies in the lower levels to "speed up" progress? That blows. It's not an improvement at all, in my opinion. I started a new alt to see the lower level changes and I'm disappointed. Less enemies means less XP and loot. It also…
I know it's in there and some species can use it, but not all. Some of the species that can't use it (like Trill) don't even make sense. It may also depend on what head you're using for your alien.
I had the same thing. I'm playing as an Andorian Starfleet officer and my female human tactical officer was talking with the voice of Tovan. Wonderful. It was bad enough when I was playing as a RR officer and Tovan popped up on Nimbus III during away teams, despite not being slotted on my away team. At least he…
I know, right? And it's not just PVP. PVE in areas like the Voth battle zone and fleet actions are a real pain in the rear with this bug. (anywhere that you're facing a relentless onslaught of enemies) What gets me is that Season 8 didn't even cause this bug. One of the "fixes" after S8 did this.
Considering how many of these missions have been broken since Season 8 dropped, you need to extend the deadline for getting the chain completion rewards. There are at least a few of them that literally can't be finished, which makes it impossible for people to get the chain completion rewards. I don't know why you can't…
Yep, batteries and hypos for me. I was doing space combat and had that happen with my shield battery, but a map transfer brought it back. Then I was on the ground doing the Voth stuff in the Dyson Sphere and, every time I used a hypo, it disappeared from the tray and from my list of things I could put on the tray. Since I…
Wow, that's outstanding. So, I have to go through two more missions before I get a new ship that I should have now. Fantastic. Basically, they're saying: "TRIBBLE you if you've advanced more quickly than the story." (which really is easy to do when you do defense and exploration side missions for dilithium)
Prepatching is a good idea. While it may not be a "new" idea, I can't remember this game ever doing this before and I've been playing for over two years. So, kudos to the team for this. :)
It wouldn't work because they have separate missions. I'm sure the Romulan missions are mostly the same, but I know the Romulan/Federation alliance has some Federation missions in there, as I'm sure the Romulan/KDF alliance has KDF missions.
You should play as a Reman. All of those bugs and pieces that you inexplicably can't wear. I can get not being able to wear the TOS Romulan helmets, because Remans have special heads, but why can't we wear some of the belts and other pieces that Romulans can wear? Aside from the heads, Remans are virtually identical to…
I remember when we didn't even have dilithium. And we had to walk uphill both ways through the snow to and from school with no shoes. :P Seriously, it was 300+ when the dilithium exchange was first launched, because those of us who had been subscribed previously had already been given a bunch of dilithium, so the demand…
I think the big problem with Tovan is that he's the only bridge officer in the game that you can't fire. Some of us are control freaks and simply want to have the officers we choose and not have the game tell us otherwise. Personally, I've had some Fed VA characters before where I decided that I didn't like my boffs…
If it's a bug, it could be something that doesn't always happen. I can definitely remember having to redo a couple assignments in the Caitian 10-mission chain in the past, but that's the one in which I've failed two of them with my current character and it's still progressing in the chain. Or, that could be just a really…
Yeah, that's probably the most annoying of the ones I reported in this thread. In order to stop this from happening, I switched all of my department heads to Romulans and Remans. However, the stupid game keeps putting Tovan Khev back as my tactical department head. It's bad enough I can't get rid of that guy and…
I've been playing the game for two years, since slightly before they added the doff system, and I can tell you it wasn't always that way. Once upon a time, when you failed one of the chain assignments, you had to redo it until you passed to continue in the chain. I don't know when that changed, because I'm a sporadic…
I just ran this mission and the last solar system took more than forty five minutes. (probably about an hour for the whole mission) I know this for certain, because my Pirate Distress Call's fifteen minute cool down counted down three times in the last solar system. I'm not saying it's hard, I was in a D'deridex and I have…
Actually, the system works great and I have a great success rate. I just thought the trait being a pass and a fail was odd, until it was explained to me. If you think of the duty officer system as actual missions, not every mission is going to be a success. With few exceptions, most doff missions have at least a small…
Hm, does this mean I should actually pay attention to the stuff they say? :P I usually just play the game and I'm rarely on the forums, so I missed that explanation. It does make sense, but there is still the part where the trait registers as a fail trait, but it doesn't register as a critical trait. (it doesn't turn…
Actually, I'm in the game now and going to do just that. "Analyze Biological Characteristics of Bateret Incense" That's one I'm seeing right now. "Stubborn" is listed as a critical, failure and disaster trait. Fantastic.
I had this too. (submitted a bug ticket, for all the good that will do) Freaking fantastic. Thanks a lot, Cryptic. @stupidconversion: thanks for the heads up about Creatures of the Dessert. I might as well drop that before I even bother with it.
