Something that hasn't been mentioned yet: Developers do not decide what features get worked on, what content is added, or what bugs get fixed. Priorities are set by management not developers. I'm not with Cryptic or DECA, but at work as a Windows app developer I have a queue of 50+ tickets, and the ordering of those…
We don't know when but it will return eventually. If you don't already have enough zen set aside you can get 25% bonus zen for the rest of the month - https://www.playstartrekonline.com/en/news/article/11572917 By Grabthar's Hammer, what a savings! ;)
Thanks. Knowing there's been a long transition period where the new hires had access to the Cryptic staff is a very good sign. If they've been keeping good notes of answers and their own investigations the code and tools might even be better documented now than they were before.
I disagree with the thread title. No one was "fired," the owners decided to shift work to a different team and the main motivation was probably cost-cutting. Am I happy there is a different team? I have no idea yet, it will depend on what resources the new team has. When the owners switched to a cheaper team, did they use…
I'm pretty sure it's MUCH worse, like 1 in 500 instead of the 1 in 250 for lock box ships. Cryptic/DECA gives us the Han Solo treatment ("never tell me the odds") but people have done mass dil spends and bulk opens on tribble a few times over the years and posted here.
Why not both? If someone is fond of their OMNI-cover skin, let it remain as a beta/alternate choice while the improved version becomes the new default look.
You don't speak for me and I don't share your opinion. I've been watching Trek since it was just TOS and TAS and have been playing STO since 2012. The change looks nice, though woefully un-TOS-like ;)
We work with the cooperative (not collective) in the delta arc. A collective probe wouldn't be appropriate but liberated Borg calling on the cooperative makes sense.
That would be nice for anyone who changes their mind, possibly years later. I think it's true for all of the episode boffs including the Voth defector, Kobali with no sense of direction, potato head. Was there also a Jem'Hadar one in the Kurland Here arc?
Can you reclaim the Doctrine Lizard (Voth) or the Undead Unholy Freak (Kobali)? I thought the episode/rep reward boffs were all one-time per character but I've never had a reason to test that.
True, but one point of the FCT is to tell us that there are business and/or technical reasons why Santa is NOT going to bring us items on that list. The game engine might not support it with a sane amount of effort. CBS/Viacom might say no. Cryptic/DECA is a business. There might be 100 paying customers who would pay $10…
Did you [ claim ] the reward while the event was live? The character that did that would get the ship box, weapon pack, and 20,000 dil. Other characters would then go to events > ships to claim the ship. Unfortunately the rep might have looked at this blog which says "20 daily" when it really means "20 days of progress" or…
20 days full progress. If you only do a single 1-point patrol instead of 2 patrols or the TFO then every day the event progress will show as incomplete instead of a filled-in square and a 20-hour countdown, and the [ claim ] button on the event screen will never light up to show you have finished. The winter event is…
Just the one event or the whole 6-event meta-campaign? If the meta-campaign too then remember buying out an event will get you matching meta progress, but only for the days you bought not 14 days. (Buying out a non-meta event? For meta the effect is Willy Wonka. You get nothing! Good DAY sir!)
I'd like Santa Q to unlock the tailor and let us mix in all the off duty and other-faction costume pieces we've unlocked, and also use as much of the full palette as possible. I understand that many pieces only fit certain races, but unlock as much as possible then have the artists work on the unusable pieces and old…
- Does the event progress bar show as completely filled out? - Did you [ Claim ] the event reward on that screen? - Did you open the box that appeared? - Do you have an available active ship slot when you go to Manage Ships?
The more subtle twovix orchid design makes me want some ON-duty sweaters for away missions. Cable-knit sweaters with color palette control for fall weather.
I said "events * often * do not come back after maintenance" not that they never do. Sometimes they do, often they do not. It's true this campaign raised the requirement from 70 days to 84, but it also increased the extra days from 35 to 42 extra days. Gambling on the last day of the last event is pushing your luck. Stuff…
Events often do not come back after maintenance on the last day, so it's best to assume they end with the start of maintenance. Luckily for you a 1 day buyout shouldn't be too expensive, or if you've finished then the loss of dil isn't that bad.
Perhaps Cryptic / DECA could play double Santa and make this gift even better by removing the fed-only and off-duty flags from the outfits? I'll just wish upon a Star (Trek)....
Thanks Cryptic / DECA for both the ship and costumes. Ships and costume pieces are always appreciated. If I could ask for something extra for xmas, how about unlocking the tailor so I can use these with doffs? That's just a wish not a complaint.
It is a deletion to people who prefer the older model - https://forum.arcgames.com/startrekonline/discussion/1274837/what-happened-to-my-horizon#latest Ideally when these revamps happen the old version would be kept available as " - alternate" or " - beta" or something so those who prefer the old version don't lose access…
Yep. I still love the Mat'Ha that I got in the Delta pack back in 2014 but aside from the unique scatter volley nose cannon it's outclassed by many newer ships. When I fly it I do so knowing I'm trading nostalgia for power.
We still get little perks like continuous XP boost for new characters, extra free skill respecs, auto-refinement of dil, and fireworks. I got mine on PC back in December 2014 so the stipend has paid it back. For new players the current features feels more like a 10,000 zen package than 20,000 (on sale, console) or $300 on…
Of course being part of Fed or KDF doesn't stop anyone from creating their own personal, private faction or origin that operates as part of them. I have a Terran Empire defector who took his Paradox Temporal Dreadnought and crew and defected to Fed 2409. Is there an in-game "Terran Defector" faction created by Cryptic? No…
Many events offer rewards that don't fit your main captain and their current build. The thing to remember is that not everyone is you. For every 10 ships there might be 8-9 that are not for you, but someone else has been waiting eagerly for them to be released. Some people chase the max DPS, max space magic damage, best…
