  • I haven't posted in quite some time, but I feel this thread is worthy of comment. I want to thank Perfect World for discontinuing the Mac client and cancelling my subscription simultaneously. I kept forgetting to go ftp, and now I don't have to wade through the Arc client to do so. There are much better games available on…
  • I continue to plug away at upgrades. The latest will be in approximately three hours when my Counter-Command Deflector goes Epic. So now the only items I have left to upgrade are my shield and the rest of my torpedoes. The shield will be the priority, as it will benefit from some nice modifiers as it increases in rarity.…
  • Update: I grind and I grind, and eleven hours from now it pays off with an Epic quality AMACO engine! I'll be updating the build shortly, and I should be able to try it out sometime in the afternoon when maintenance is complete.
  • You've gotta love the flexibility of the T'varo! I like taking mine to Ker'rat every once in a while.
  • That is brilliant!
  • Well, early tomorrow the Neutronic Torpedo will be ultra-rare. I'm looking forward to trying it out, but I hope it was worth the upgrades. The plan right now is to get my engines and deflector to epic. The primary drive behind this is economics. Until there is an easier way to accumulate Argonite Gas, shield and torpedo…
  • Point taken. However, the cost of obtaining torpedoes with the appropriate modifiers is high. I have been trying to craft some, and I'll update when I have some more success. Thanks for your comments.
  • UPDATE: Before maintenance, I managed to get the Assimilated Console to pop Epic. I can't wait to try it out later today. Build is now updated. http://www.stoacademy.com/tools/skillplanner/?build=quantumtvaro_4674
  • Hey everyone! So, I mentioned in my last post that the minimum for the rest of this weekend was to upgrade the Rule 62 console to Epic. It popped, and I was quite pleased. Then I tried to upgrade my Tachyokinetic Converter. It popped Epic at 4%. I was blown away by my luck. Pressing one's luck is not always the smartest…
  • IMO, the best way to improve the Retrofit is to upgrade it. First to Fleet retrofit, then to T5U. I use it exclusively unless I'm trying to gain a starship trait. In that case, I get the trait, then switch back.
  • "Ask, and ye shall receive!" Seriously, sometimes that actually happens. In this case, my Bioneural Infusion Circuits just popped Epic, so I'll get to enjoy them in about three hours. I hope everyone is having an enjoyable R&D weekend. I figured now was a good time to take a break and fill the readers in on what was new…
  • UPDATE: The R.R.W. Qanik now has four epic vulnerability locators. The focus for building now turns to improving universal consoles, starting with Bioneural Infusion Circuits. The build is updated on STOAcademy. http://www.stoacademy.com/tools/skillplanner/?build=quantumtvaro_4674 Medals are appreciated. Thanks for reading!
  • As Neelix exclaims: Happy Holidays! This is a very short update. Two more vulnerability locators have been upgraded to epic quality. Thanks to everyone on the NoP channel who has helped me by crafting upgrades. If only Argonite Gas was more plentiful, as well as Rubidium and Tetrazine Gas. The rest of the upgrading would…
  • Bonus update: The vulnerability locator finally went epic! Build updated! http://www.stoacademy.com/tools/skillplanner/?build=quantumtvaro_4674
  • Quick update: The R.R.W. Qanik will have Ultra-Rare AMACO engines tomorrow. I guess the stars lined up correctly, because I had just enough dilithium and Very Rare upgrades to get it to pop. Hopefully I'll get to test drive them tomorrow night after work. I have one vulnerability locator at 30% chance to upgrade to Epic,…
  • I found a good anagram for the subject: Insatiable Overspending Rates Expose Thinly Veiled Threats Somebody check me, please.
  • I wanted to see if anyone else had a contribution to my idea, and I saw the thread got bumped to the bottom of page four due to the grousing over the extended maintenance time. Exceptional amount of complaining going on lately. It does not bode well.
  • I refer you to post #11.
  • The fleet is progressing. It isn't stalled. This is not a complaint thread about fleet projects. The rate of return on fleet credits for doffs is not as good as buying off the exchange. Most of my contributions come from the latter method. I am suggesting another use for those fleet credits.
  • Yes! Since materials seem to be difficult to come by in certain circumstances, a new doff job would help to relieve the bottleneck that players are currently experiencing. Good idea!
  • I'm not sure how this resolves acquiring accelerators, but thanks for the reply.
  • Duncan, I was speaking of accelerators, not upgrades. Of course, you have a point: if you could craft accelerators, the idea would be moot. The Memory Alpha holding seemed to make the most sense. Thanks!
  • Hello everyone, So, when I'm not sleeping or working, I'm grinding. But I don't mind it so much because it's focused grinding in order to improve survival of the ship during combat. I started doing the system patrols one sector at a time, and they are proving not only to provide some decent XP, but also a nice storyline…
  • Well, I was upbeat about this weekend, but just as the time passes, so does my enthusiasm. Hello again, everyone. I wanted to report to those of you who read this thread about how this weekend is going. Very slow is the answer that seems most appropriate. I finally made it to level 15 in Shield Technology, only to discover…
  • Okay, ladies and gents, I actually get a whole weekend off this week. Subsequently, I will try to play STO as long as my eyes stay open. The Neutronic torp is now Mk XIII, so I'll be test driving it against Vaudwaur later. If I pick up any salvage off missions, I tend to use it for upgrades right before I logoff. This…
  • Sure! And if you really want to go crazy, Kris, try putting as many reputation torpedoes and consoles on your ship that will fit. I would love to see the wild combinations of damage from such a craft.
  • Already acquired! A mighty fine bit of hardware, with or without the Bioneural Gel Pack. Just need to upgrade it now. Not a lot I could do this weekend with the bonus upgrade experience, because I can only grind so much dilithium. I only managed to upgrade the Borg console to Very Rare. Ferengi Missile Launcher is now part…
  • So it goes, And it goes and goes. Hello, everyone! Hope the disconnects this weekend aren't getting you down too much. As the weekends are now the only lengthy periods of playtime that I receive, the recent connection issues have thrown a spanner in the works for my game. But since we are here to discuss QUANTUM T'VARO,…
  • http://www.stoacademy.com/tools/skillplanner/?build=quantumtvaro_4674 Thanks to STO Academy for an extraordinary tool that allows players to share their builds. I've updated the R.R.W. Qanik with my latest loadout. And I managed to hit level 60 today! More to come!
  • Hi everyone, Sorry that I haven't been posting recently. Between school and a new job it's difficult even to find time to play. Upgrades are coming along, but the dilithium requirements for upgrades are steep, and considering that I'm using torpedoes, Argonite Gas isn't cheap either. I've been supplementing by using the…
