Mystery on the 26th

questeriusquesterius Member Posts: 8,502 Arc User
That image had nothing to do with the Anniversary Mission, a Foundry Mission, the new Foundry Feature, or any missions what so ever :) Not even PvE!

It does have to do with a certain REDACTED that is coming next Monday the 26th in it's own posts and threads, so keep your eyes peeled on how you can solve this Borg/DS9 mystery!

~CaptainSmirk

Let's speculate. What will it be?
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

It's going to be a change to the Redshirt server where all factions have access to all clothing, equipment, and ships of other factions, but all missions are defaulted to the Federation storyline as a preview to an experimental Starfleet Online change.

The New Romulus storyline never happened; Romulans were integrated with Starfleet after D'Tan was successfully assassinated by the Tal Shiar prior to his attempt to form an alliance. Because of this, Romulans can use Singularity cores on regular Fed and KDF starships, and without the -40 power issue thanks to advanced Fed tech.

The KDF lost their homeworld to the Undine because the Iconian plot was never discovered and Tuvok never got to make contact with an Undine, much less mind meld with one. Survivors were integrated with Starfleet as an large special forces branch.

Now Starfleet is the only remaining bastion, and its total war against the Undine. All players can potentially capture an enemy starship and either keep it to add to their personal collection, or sell it to Starfleet for R&D materials, EC, or Marks. Restriction is 1 of each ship. Requires Boarding Party and Tractor Beam or Reversed TBR. Enemy must also be within the HP red zone.

Server resets every Thursday, so you can't make it your primary game server.

    Borg/DS9 mystery?

The Borg open up a bar on DS9 to compete with Quark's place..."The Alcove" Their slogan: "Come on in, sit down and be assimilated!" They're Dabo girl is Seven of Nine! Woot!

    I can hear her now:

"Will you be placing a wager or did you come to stare at me?"

"All our drinks are laced with nanoprobes."

"Did I tell you about the time I was surrounded by Borg?"

"Lower your shields and prepare to play Dabo."

    "Gambling resistance is futile!"

"Your latinum will adapt to service us."

"Spin the wheel and be assimilated."

    "Small wagers are irrelevant."

"You look like you've missed your regeneration cycle."

"Care to join me later in my regeneration alcove?"

"I can assure you, they are not holograms."

"Wager all your latinum on one spin. Comply!"

"I don't know anyone named Hue!"

"You cannot link to the Collective by drinking that!"

    Also...live bands..DEVO and KRAFTWERK!

Yeah that sounds about right. A yearly or bi-yearly like mirror. The only thing is I don't see them doing this type of event during the anniversary.

No, it's all a ruse. The devs have secretly been making a t6 ferasan carrier for the kdf which is to be released on the 26th. It will be a gigantic litter box with little TRIBBLE pets with battle cloak!

if they ever add a borg lockbox it means their metrics show the game is seeing the light at the end of the tunnel lol :D

they don't know that won't help....more power creep and ships won't make good gameplay.Balanced game and pvp will make good gameplay.

Figure the image is teasing one of two things:

    1) The Borg and Wormhole are noise to distract, and the tease is T6 Command Galaxy

    or

    2) Return of 'State of Q' mission and all the usual Q related silliness

Yup and it will have a special console that destroys every enemy ship within 5 km. Metaphorically it will be the final nail in pvp's coffin.

We're going to try to regain control of Vega IX. It is something that occurs during the new Federation Tutorial that still requires being resolved. Since Shon is from Vega, I would likely assume the Enterprise would also be assisting in the matter and we'll team up with them.

As to why we'd head to Vega, when we're dealing with what's going on in the Delta Quadrant, is simple. Basically, they've gotten enough of a force there now that it must be dealt with by the Alliance. Since we've got the Delta Quadrant stable enough that we don't need to be there, we leave and throw our weight at it. Probably a relation to Shon (his wife?) becomes the new Borg Queen/King and we have to fight it as the final battle.

Then, the race that has been missing from the Delta Quadrant, the Krenim show up and TRIBBLE up all the work we've done in the Delta Quadrant, forcing us to head back after saving Vega. Thus, giving us a whole bunch of things to kill-ahem, I mean pacify in the name of peace.

The newly designed Command ships (redesigned Flagships) and Secondary Deflectors (2410 Rhode Island, Vesta, Vo'Quv, Ha'nom) are to give us Captains a better edge against the Borg when we go up against them and why they've been brought out. It would also explain why the Romulans and Klingons need to build more ships with this technology, because Starfleet builds more science vessels than them.

At least that's what I'd do if I was them.

I didn't even know there was a Borg DS9 mystery, it was obviously too mysterious for me to notice.

So it's got nothing to do with PvE content past, present or future. So...what's left?

My educated guess is a community event of some sort, something 'meta' I suppose is the best term for it. Perhaps even PvP related.

    Or...it'll be a giveaway.

I'm thinking the "Not even PvE" remark provides a very strong clue that this isn't going to be about PvE...

If it's not PvE then I'm guessing it'd be about PvP? Perhaps another Ker'rat like zone outside DS9 with major bribes to get non-PvPers to show up and be targets lol
