Fleet Credits for Tech Accelerators

darinjaneczkodarinjaneczko Member Posts: 108 Arc User
So, I have this thought about the thread subject, and I wonder what the player base would say about it.

I am in a fleet slowly making its way to tier five with its starbase. I have millions of fleet credits in my inventory because I do not have anything available that I would wish to spend them on at the moment.

If tech accelerators were purchasable at starbase holdings, I would have a reason to spend my fleet credits if I wanted to continue upgrading equipment with an improved chance of success, especially for rarity. This would also have the benefit of more player contributions to starbase projects in order to purchase more accelerators and move tier progression forward for fleet holdings.

Tech accelerator quality could be based on the level of the fleet or the tier of specific holdings. Better quality availability might encourage completion of projects, just as it did for weapons, consoles, ships, and hangar pets.

This idea also lends itself to the possibility of a new fleet holding. Since Memory Alpha is currently unavailable to the player base, perhaps creating an R&D fleet holding on Memory Alpha would not only open this area back up for players to visit, but also give the game a much needed shot in the arm.

More grind? Maybe, but the possible rewards are quite useful, and the variety it would add to the current game might encourage more participation. If there is an alternative available to players that requires game play as opposed to a credit card purchase to reach a goal, I think many players would embrace an idea such as this.

Thank you for reading,

This basically exists now in an indiret form.

Fleet Credits -> VR Starbase Doffs -> EC -> Tech Upgrades.

Cryptic doesn't need to add in additional channels around extant free-market processes.

THAT SAID, a Memory Apha fleet holding does sound like a mighty fine idea (assuming you stock it with new things.)

Duncan, I was speaking of accelerators, not upgrades.

Of course, you have a point: if you could craft accelerators, the idea would be moot.

The Memory Alpha holding seemed to make the most sense. Thanks!

I'm not sure how this resolves acquiring accelerators, but thanks for the reply.

i like the idea of a r&d holding. You could have missions there to get Materials like the dil mine as well as purchasable tech upgrades and such

Yes! Since materials seem to be difficult to come by in certain circumstances, a new doff job would help to relieve the bottleneck that players are currently experiencing.

    Good idea!

Same difference. You can buy accelerators from the exchange with money aquired from fleet doffs. Its not as nice of an exchange rate as upgrades but the pathway does exist.

"I have millions of fleet credits in my inventory because I do not have anything available that I would wish to spend them on at the moment." thats what he said, i told he can use his fleet-credit to help his fleet.

Or top tier crafting level now has a reason to go beyond 15...

The fleet is progressing. It isn't stalled. This is not a complaint thread about fleet projects.

The rate of return on fleet credits for doffs is not as good as buying off the exchange. Most of my contributions come from the latter method.

I am suggesting another use for those fleet credits.

There is always Need for fc if ur fleet is not t5, warp to fleetbase and get some doffs -contrribute dili/spire/embassy provisions, make urself a bit more useful, yes it is a lot of work to Claim doffs and contribute them - but some have to do - in the fleets i am in thats me. hth

I wanted to see if anyone else had a contribution to my idea, and I saw the thread got bumped to the bottom of page four due to the grousing over the extended maintenance time.

Exceptional amount of complaining going on lately. It does not bode well.

It's a nice idea.. thou i'll prefer some kind of way to manufacture them myself... don't like to depend on the fleet... unless they can be aquired without provisions...

This only helps people in Fleets. Though I do like the project idea as well :)
