You are mistaken. Read the various articles before jumping on the forums and assuming Cryptic are acting as money grabbing villains. The ships in the pack are mostly lvl 50 Retro-fit versions of the tiered ships you'll be able to access as you level up.

People farm Dilithium and put it up for sale on the Dil Exchange for Zen. Players wouldnt be able to buy Dil if we didnt farm it, hence if you do sell Dil for Zen then you effectively ARE working for Cryptic on a very, very low wage.

This can occur in any MMO where you're running a fleet/guild/clan. I use to run a PvP guild over in THAT game by Blizzard. After getting home from a days work I'd log-in and find 20-30 people waiting on me to lead PvP teams. Without me on they just wouldn't happen. Just to clarify, from my point of view I didn't jump through any hoops. I played (and enjoyed playing) the game and earned rewards through not paying for it.

Small minded I know, but if I am the last person, at say facility Delta, with 3 repairs to be made and everyone else has headed-off to camp the boss spawn point I normally take my time...wait for a few CD's to finish, tab out and check the interwebz, maybe take a ciggie break. While the current crop of bugs, like the Bridge Officer Station bug can be annoying its only been in existence for 3 days, 2 of those days being a weekend. OP makes it sound like its been in existence since the start of the game. Give STO a break and go outside for a bit. I'm sure it will be fixed next couple of days.
