No, you're not the only one. I've been trying to log in after the 1Gb patch installed and haven't had any luck. I make it to the "Cryptic" window and that's it. Oh, and I'm in San Diego, CA.

A couple fleetmates and I got stuck in the very same situation. We found a solution to this mess: 1. have a fleetmate send you a map invite to the fleet starbase. 2. go to the transporter room, and select "beam to sector." 3. you will be place outside of NGC-1218. Good hunting.

I support the D'Kyr for Romulans! I mean, fair is fair. They ARE "distant cousins" of the Vulcans. So why can't a reunificationist from New Romulus get one. For that matter, aren't almost all citizens of New Romulus supporting reunification? So why can't they be manning a Vulcan ship such as the D'Kyr?
