  • I use this: http://joytokey.net/en/ program to play with a joystick on STO. Though I only really use it for space combat. It has proven to be a bit buggy in my estimation. However, it is easy to use and works well. I even managed to set up autofire on it. Which sometimes make my character jump up and down when on a ground…
  • My advice is to not use SweetFX at all. I had to look it up., since I had not heard of it. After doing so I can't think of a valid reason to use such software.
  • Something very similar to this is happening on Holodeck as well. http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?p=22008811#post22008811 I don't think it is a DX9 vs. DX11 thing. I think it is just bad coding.
  • https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd542643(v=vs.85).aspx second one down.
  • You are not alone. I have this same issue. I have a integrated Intel HD. (yes, yes I know not a gaming card, blah, blah, blah.) I made a forum thread about this about a month or four ago here: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?p=20658971#post20658971 I went a round with tech support with it. They ended up…
  • Sorry no fixes yet that I have heard about and no workaround. Even switching to DX11 does nothing. Moving on...why you got to be all ". I'm guessing its a blonde young girl with aspirations of developing the most graphical realistic game of all time" It could have equally been a male. And statistically speaking probably…
  • Well, I am probably the only person on STO that has managed to get a passive aggressive reply from tech support. It was over a older bug that was causing my graphics driver to crash repeatedly. I just kept badgering them about it, lols. And messaging their FB account probably had something to do with it. Kinda surprised…
  • Well I don't know what they asked you to do. I got asked to re-install the entire game, which was not that much of a big deal. I did do it, and like I thought it did nothing. But my guess is, based on the support tickets I have sent in that they have a script that they have to follow in regards to troubleshooting an issue.…
  • Yes I looked it up online. It appears to be related to DX9 trying to do something that is not implemented for it. So somewhere there is a command that is probably meant for DX11 that DX9 is trying to process and it is throwing up this error. There is a thread on the Neverwinter Nights forum about this same exact thing. In…
  • Ok so after this last update my UI bug was fixed. But I still get the Pixel Shader issue. But the UI is fixed so yay the game is no longer head-ach induceing.
  • You are not the only one. Could you perhaps list your systems specs? Here is a link to my forum post about this issue. I think that there might be others, but I have not found them yet. http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?p=19989591#post19989591
  • Well it has nothing to do with my Direct X. We already tested that through the support ticket I have open. But it is Direct X 9 more or less. My card says it supports Direct X 11, but it does not really (can't remember if it is hardware support or software support it is lacking). I normally leave the game setting on Auto…
  • I made another thread about this with more screenshots in the Bug report section of the forum. here is the link http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?p=19989591#post19989591
  • Well I thought today's patch would fix the problem. No such luck. :( I don't think it is the machines either. Remember I was effected by the driver crashing that all Intel HD's had for about two months. It was bad code then and it is bad code now.
  • Yeah, there are no updated display drivers for my computer.
  • I will check to see if there are any updated drivers. But I doubt that there are any. This computer is rather out of date by now. And Intel has not to my knowledge released any updated drivers. Plus this is an issue that only appeared after the update. Here is the link to the other thread on this topic that I found and…
  • Ok, so I just tried what you suggested and it did not work. Still have the UI looking like it has the wrong Aspect Ratio. I already ran Force Verify yesterday, so no luck there either.
  • I have this same problem. In fact, it looks like a number of people do. I am running on a laptop, here are my stats for you. Please note that while this is not a gaming laptop it has run STO fine. The only time I have had trouble with STO is when the Dev's TRIBBLE something up. Also I play WOT and STWOR on here as well.…

  • Actually you can just press print screen and it should create a screenshot. You may have to paste it into MS paint. But I think STO has system to do that with just a key-press rather than using that chat command. I don't think this makes the game unplayable, just annoying.
  • I posted about this issue in the wrong section of the forum. Here is the link, but since there are other threads this one can be deleted or merged. http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/sh...1#post19887491 posted the same in the other thread. http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?p=19887551&posted=1#post19887551…

  • Ok definitely in the wrong section of the forum. But I don't know how to move it. Also it is a duplicate since others are having this same issue.
  • Well it would help to know what your issue is. But generally they have been pretty good about responding to my requests for help. Maybe a few days before I get a reply from an actual human being. But with the update out they might be a bit backed up.
  • My Fleetmate and I were doing ICE the other night. Have one player who went after one of sides by himself. And while he did manage to do it by himself. We lost the optional which is ok. It was a pug, things don't always go according to plan. What really annoyed me though is that I told him to stop. And after we get done I…
  • More or less. I did not compleat it 100%. But the rest of it does not differ much from other tank builds. It relies on the shields not going down that much, which was why I was a bit upset when they seemed to be doing more then they should. But I seem to have fixed the issue with the reputation powers. Also, I should…
  • Well fine then. :P http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/?build=settankbuild_6867
  • Well this thread may have been a bit premature. I just re-did some of my space rep. powers and that seems to have helped a bit. :) I think the difference in how the reputation powers work now may have made it seem like they nefed/buffed something without telling us.
  • And I have at least three of the reps finished. I am in an Oddy Star Cruiser. That before was a tank! I have the adapted MACO. set on it. and a few others. I could go into pvp and sometimes hold my own against the kind of ship that pvp-ers use. My shield hardly ever went down. If anything I feel that they somehow nerfed…
  • Untill someone gets screenshots. Here is what I did. First under the Display tab make sure the game is set to run at max Res. Mine got reset to something less than that. Then you can set the game to use DirectX 11 rather than 9 or auto. It does seem to make the game look better. Then you want to set the Resolution Scale…
