Ok nice post for April 1 guys. It might not be a big new elaborate thing like years past... but the blog post gave me a few chuckles.
I will probably steal "ThunderCougarFalconBird" for a ship name...
I just wanted to point out though... who ever created the mashup model. Its cool. I actually want that ship. A cross between a voyager and a maquis raider... its the ship I never knew I wanted.
Meh - to be a GOOD April Fools joke, they should have made it seem they were REALLY adding this ship (and yes, the players who follow know Kael's history would immediately know its bogus); but IDK, compared to what Cryptic's done in the past, it came across to me as a bit lazy to make it so blaringly obvious it's an April Fools joke.

Good point... they should have just copy and pasted ship stats from another ship... complete with typos. It would have been very believable.
The Pathyeager is based on a canon ship, the wartime Yeager.
It used the Intrepid saucer but not the maquis raider as its secondary, it was a freighter that was seen for only a second or so onscreen, so they skimped a bit and used the same model as they did for the UFP fighter, the Maquis raider, and the Val Jean with minor modifications for that freighter. That same model represented four different classes (five if you count the shuttle version with the bubble canopy) with four different sizes.
The use of a freighter as the secondary hull was actually a great way to get the desperate need for ships across, it harkens back to the freighter and yacht hulled warships the US built in a similar crunch for warships in WWII, though it is unfortunate that they chose that particular model since so many fans seem to fixate on it as the raider version and ignore the others (and all the other reused models in Trek for that matter).

This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

This one honestly kinda makes me mad. This is a ship some people have actually asked for--and I know I'd be happy to fly it--and they make it an April Fool's prank?
I really, really hate April Fool's Day. This is just yet another illustration of why.
They left out the incentive to buy it - with every purchase of a pathyeager you get a free bottle of paklax, the pakled laxative designed for spacefaring traders. Guaranteed to make you go at warp speed
Looking for something to make you go? Look no further than paklax
So, I like it. Make it a C Store ship and I'll buy it. It's better then the flying toilet and toilet seat ships for sure.
RIP (2022) : Officer Wilbert Mota, Corporal Charles Galloway, Detective Jason Rivera, Officer Fernando
Arroyos, Officer John Painter, K9 Jedi, K9 Maya, Deputy Constable Neil Adams, Officer Jorge
David Alvarado, Sergeant Joshua Cordell, Trooper Martin Mack, Trooper Branden Sisca,
Lieutenant William Lebo
OK look, as much of a meme the ship is at this point I want an unironic playable version of the Yeager. I know I skipped the last Muds bundle but I'll pay for this.

The model should replace the Eisenburg ship. (T_T)
Gotta admit that is one sweet looking ship. I say skip the foolishness and send that concept to the yard.
Agree and considering the lack of the future ships I see in either event TFs or in orbit around earth I dont think any of those future ships are overly popular withthe player base. I find the non connected nacelles to be one of the dumbest design choices myself. So apparently they are held to the ship via a tractor beam or force field of some type, but basically if they have one power outage the nacelles could just drift away. Plus in a combat situation (which seems to occur reguarly) it means you are diverting enrgy, which could be used for weapons or shields to holding those nacelles in place.

Even if just for this: (The Pathyeager will drain Auxiliary Power of nearby allies)

Where ever that back side came from I'm down. lol
It does look better then it has a right too.
That said... I kinda like the way it looks.
Its been bizzaro world for a few years why not in STO as well... when the April fools ship looks cooler then the current gamble box stupidity.
Indeed.

we need one, ST Fleet Commander has a pakled mining ship, the Amalgum.
Can't copypasta an original post.
Casual SAB did a nice prank too.
Throw in some different pylons/angles (up, down, flat), a few nacelle options, and some saucer variations and I think it would be a real winner.
