I'm getting the same issue. STO was working fine right up until it came down for maintenance and after patching I am crashing 100% of the time from the ARC launcher from multiple accounts
Same here, after STO crashed for the 6th time in less than 2 hours. I tried force verify...
Verification should be complete sometime tomorrow, I'll let you know the results.

Last time I was 1 mission away from an Ultimate Tech Upgrade, took 2 weeks to get back in.

Same issue as well. Got the same response from support. Game was working fine yesterday. Since the patch, every time the game gets towards the end of loading, it crashes.
There is an old adage...."if it ain't broke, leave it the fruitcake alone". Sonwe will go with another bugged event and when it finally comes online you wont get any additional time to complete it. Talk about constantly shitting out players. For my part, I cant get in on my usual system, I have gotten in on my backup system which I use solely to check whether the bugs are an attempt to bin older systems. So I will chalk this up to another attempt to kill gameplay on older machines.
I wear similar shoes. This is exactly one of the main reasons I remained a free to play player. I wonder what it would have been like if I bought the lifetime (aka maintenance) subscription ... ready joke.

try and launch the exe file then...dont use arc.
The program crashes, it doesn't matter how I start it.
Same basic issues, game client starts and window says it is not responding and closes at the House Shattered loading screen.
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, a few power cycles, ran windows update, ran intel BD update, forced verify, from Arc, from launcher, tried safe mode.
i guess the next thing is for yall to post your specs.
have you uninstalled and reinstalled a fresh version?
SSD? Spin Drive?
have you updated video drivers?
when was the last windows update yall did?
anything else along these lines at the same time you can think of?
Bring up the launcher and start the game in 'Safe-Mode' in the options is usually the fix for this, but this may relate to the prior Video Card bug that was going around.

I was told to share this by support ( Navi )so here I go. I played early morning of the 8th. Logged off. Around 7:30pm that night I tried to log on. Everything was starting as normal but just when it would start to load the Character Menu the game would crash and close. I tried several times over the evening to get in and the same thing would happen. I closed the loader and decided to uninstall Arc..and then download another one. I did so. Still the same thing happens. My son is able to log into my game from where he is but I can not. I have been playing for 5 years and this has never happened. Game was not touched until I tried to get back in so no settings were played with...it just won't load. All I keep getting is a little window saying the game had crashed and a number. Very frustrated right now!
The game has crashed on me several times yesterday and twice this morning. This morning's incident ID's are 265413 and 26542d. The game will start with the shattered house title page then crash and the incident ID window opens.

Submitted a ticket and received the same "it's a bug and I don't have a fix for you" response as in the OP above.
This appears to be another Directx Related Problem. Running the sto through dxcpl lets you login, but it is very slow. Hopefully this won't take 2 weeks to fix.
