I cannot get into the game even after the latest update, I get into the start up page and it crashes and starts a cryptic error report. What's happening, it worked fine before this Bl***y update?

Also occurred here. 2x Gameserver errors, then getting in the ESD via Safe Login... and still not loading.

This might be for the best currently. I'm in game but have yet to find an instance, solo or social that is not a horrible lag-filled nightmare.

You're not missing anything. I bounced around Drozana space, and when I finally stopped, it took nearly two minutes to get into the station when I bounced around some more.

Well this is good start for today. 5hr maintenance and you can't even log in long enough to do anything. Now I can't even log onto my main anymore. It just crashes.

It was last day for the Borg event. I find it ironic that they increased it by a day and now the game TRIBBLE unplayable so you'll most likely miss that day anyways. ha. Edit: Now I can no longer successfully log onto any character. This is certainly unforgettable 10th anniversary. It certainly opened my eyes... to spending 20,000/30,000 zen for legend bundle. This game engine is showing its age....

Same here. Can login and launch the game up to the character selection screen. After selecting a character and clicking play the first time it loaded to around 40% then gave the "Timeout when connecting to GameServer" error (or something like that). Second attempt I tried the Safe Login option, same error. Tried for a third time same error so I'm giving up for today.

I've noticed that this tends to happen around new releases and/or events; the first day tends to be a "try and see" day and if it works great, if not try again tomorrow

Same situation here. Select a character, load gets to about 40%, then crashes with the GameServer error. Seems PWE failed to prepare for the number of people logging in. Not really surprised, but you would think they want STO to succeed. Based on what I'm reading, the lag is horrid anyway so perhaps I need to wait for an emergency patch before trying the event.

Wonder if they notice that there is problem already but I don't expect them to shut down the server for emergency downtime to fix it. I expect a whole day of waiting. Good thing is we can move onto something else.

Same here /sigh > Returning player starting to question if game is worth it

when i do get in i lag and rubber band everywhere or cant move to talk to NPC's

Only time i have any success is at most off peak times

All whilst on a 55-60GB good ISP connection

For those of you getting errors is it just saying "timeout when connecting to gameserver" or are you getting other errors? if so what are those errors? preferrably with error codes if you have them.

Same here (Europe/Austria). I i managed to get in (supposed to have priority login due to LTS right?!) the lag is unbeareable.

Update: tracert to patchserver is same as usual so it must be the game servers.

/merged 2 threads together for convenience and to keep things organized.

I have it marked down about the "timeout connecting to gameservers" error and the "too many attempts" error. are there others you guys are seeing, preferrably with error codes if you have them.

I am in US and it gets to 40% then does the timeout to game server error. Tried the safe mode and get same results. I have finally quit trying to get into game. Might try tomorrow...got other games to play now

PS Tried the uncheck on demand patch and then force verify route...same results after it repatched over 1G .

@darkbladejk No error codes. Just server timeouts. I managed to successfully safe log onto one of my characters but the lag still exists and all of the chat systems are completely disabled in-game. Things aren't functioning correctly and the ping rate spikes to 3000.
