And nice to see plasma type weapons getting some love finally. Hopefully that omni can be usable with a different one like all the other weapon types have already.

I haven't been this excited since the last Kelvin Box.
I want those ship. If I can't fly either the Discovery or TOS D7... I at least want that Kelvin one.
Double check?? Ha!! They don't even proofread. There are constant errors, ambiguities, and things missing. When Announcements are used multiple times an error pointed out is not corrected for the next time it's used.

I wonder if the new Klingon Kelving D7's will be added as mobs in the Terminal Expanse mission. They look fantastic.
I want pretty much everything from this lockbox and I'm really wondering what that Kelvin Shield will look like on the Kelvin Connie.

Would be awesome if they did add the Kelvin D7 to that mission.
Also some very interesting new abilities. Looks like we'll be able to get Tactical cubes as Admiralty cards.
More shockwave abilities for Sci's and Principled insubordination all make this lockbox an interesting one. Even though the ships are meh.
oh jeez, that's right...they had to make ASScards for EVERY enemy ship in the game that doesn't still have a playable version
well, i guess it saves them some work down the line if any of those ships ever DO become playable - the card is already done, just have to remove the code that makes it one-use-only

Maybe.
Or they're generic cards and there is only one for each size rank. It could be there's just 4 cards and they just change the name and picture to match the ship you got, which would explain why you can't "capture" more than one of each size card at once.
That was the Kelvin Timeline Lockbox, this is the USS Kelvin Lockbox.
We had two Xindi, Aquatic and Terrestrial with the Aquatic being added to Xindi when the Terrestrial released.
Now I understand Geko's Troll about the Storyline Changing Everything. We will be starting over in 2409 in the KELVIN Timeline. So the Path to 2409 Academy stuff will be rewritten for that. Path to 2409 (Kelvin). No need for Tier 7 Ships. They'll just release Tier 6 again Kelvinized.

Just check the roadmap they got J'ula as Ju'la when they had her so far all the way as J'ula. Then they invented a new race, the Fek'ihi and you can get their ship on winter event (instead Fek'Ihri). For what is worth I had messaged kael on forums, informed them on twitter and even told them during the live stream back then and the errors are still there. Its not bad to make mistakes but its unprofessional to not correct them especially on something as important as a roadmap
But back to topic though, I am really interested on the D7 ship. Its one of my favorite KDF ships and its mirror variant looks great. Logically it will be a lot cheaper than the DSC/TOS ones. I hope they make a T6 Kamarag someday too
I'm wondering why exactly the Kelvin Class is a "Heavy Destroyer" - what made the team possibly think that this would be screen accurate?
Neither would I classify the D7 as such. That one should mirror the Konnie and while I could see the D4 being in a "bundle" with the Kelvin, I still would have at the very least made it a "science destroyer", although I wouldn't have gone with "destroyer" at all. It should be a science vessel, possibly Miracle Worker considering how long she held together in 09.
And while we are at it, I see that this one won't have the actual USS Kelvin style uniforms (again). Will those be in the game at some point?

Metrics!
The DSC ship that looks a bit like a Nebula class (Hoover?) was clearly meant to be a science vessel on screen. It even has the same secondary Deflector the Discovery has. Its in game stat implementation however is one as a warship as they simply seem to sell better. At least Cryptic says/thinks so. Should be the same here with the Kelvin.
Cryptic only cares about authenticity if it does not happen to be in the way of our wallets.

Fair enough. Although the ship classification are a complete mess. The stats seem to be completely arbitrary to begin with. In this case, I don't find the ship we saw in 09 at all in the description they came up with, speaking of heavy weaponry ´, excellent point defence (yes, the Narada was from the future, but the Kelvin's weapons were shown to be overwhelmed with performing point defense, hence the minigun phasers on the Konnie later on) etc.
It was some sort of survey ship/general star cruiser not at all in a state of combat duty, at least not more or less than any other Starfleet ship.

I guess one of the reasons for making it a "heavy destroyer" comes from its last actions on-screen where despite being 2 centuries older, it still managed to survive the assaults of the Narada long enough to evacuate most of the surviving crew, take down many shrapnel torpedoes and put the temporal intruder out of commission for a while.
It was at the cost of it own life, yes, but still, we're talking about an old, vanilla ship causing enough damage to put a gigantic Borg hybrid ship from the future in regeneration mode and taking enough damage to still have enough of its structural integrity intact until the end.
I wonder what the trait will be. I'd like to see something like
"Captain's Last Stand: new clickable trait. Press it to evacuate all your crew, disable every single console passive and clicky, and every single trait, abilities and shield during the combat duration. In return, get 95% damage reduction, 500% weapon damage and BFAW and TS constantly active. You can only cancel the effects of the trait by ramming an enemy ship and losing 2/3rd of your current health at the moment of impact."
It's more of the JJverse follow up to replace fifty years of Trek with something a few people want to completely monetize for themselves. I like what I'm reading, I'll probably check into them, but I can't help but notice that soon the franchises will re-merge and the last ten years are back on the table as redundant.
When I read that the Kelvin class ship was being implemented as a "Heavy Destroyer", I said out loud to myself "what?!", I mean the ship screams anything but that, it even has a single nacelle for crying out loud, when destroyers and heavy combat oriented ships typically go the other route of having more than two nacelles (which makes sense).
The Kelvin class is clearly not a combat heavy oriented ship, more like a mid-range explorer with a focus on scientific missions, so this choice of role Cryptic has gone with is just... Baffling.
All those ship categories are entirely made up for game mechanics purposes, so what does it matter?
And in a combat-oriented game, all ships are by definition combat oriented.
It matters because "science" and "explorer" oriented/dedicated-class ships are actually a thing in STO, that make use of the "science" and/or "engineer" skill sets.
@saurializard I agree with it being sturdy, but the description reads like it's a high performing frigate. It should be MW-science, maybe even multi-mission with a flight deck (like the Vesta). That would fit it's theme in my opinion.

That's a much better joke, I am ashamed to have not phrased it that way to begin with.

Hm, find her the most interesting of the new ships.
A miracle worker escort would be nice here. Let’s wait and see.
