Is it at all possible, that we might see playable Borg ships at some point? Probes, Spheres, Cubes, Tactical Cubes, Borg Co-operative? Definitely seems like we should be able to, given that we have access to basically every other ship appearing in this game, and some that don't.
There was a live discussion a while back where they talked about an attempt to do that. Unfortunately the geometric ships were nothing but a total pain to use since it was difficult to tell which direction they were facing and other problems.
One possible solution would be to use half-assimilated ships (similar to the Tal Shiar adapted ships) for player characters, but the livestream pretty much left that question hang so I get the idea that they are not planning to do much with it for a while. On the other hand, they may be working on something like that as part of a Picard tie-in or something and do not want to spoiler the show or whatever, we never actually see the outside of that ship with the incredibly space-wasting bridge for instance, it could very well be some kind of Borg/Romulan hybrid or something and I seriously doubt a hero ship would be an ordinary geometric shape if it is.
Please change your thread title to be less vague. Thank you.

I think the tac borg cubes got a shape like a square "window" in their front and considering all STO ships show engine trails I dont think orientation would be a problem. Spheres may be a bit harder but still engine trails could help. I dont think probes can be hard at all. To be honest I think they could had already released at least the probe as an escort ship type

Not really, the only playable Borg ships I need are Starfleet ships with a full set of Borg rep gear.
Rather than playable Borg ships, I'd much prefer the reverse; the Borg in storyline missions and patrols (not STF's) having assimilated versions of playable ships from quadrent-accurate factions (Delta Quadrent ships in DQ-based missions, ect.) with a full set of plasma weapons and all the stuff from the Omega rep with visuals active.

I'd love a Cooperative "faction" with flyable Cubes and Spheres, as well as several assimilated hull materials for allied ships. The difficulty with determining orientation can be rectified with impulse trails or even just an icon of some kind above or below the ship.

I've lost track of the number of times this question has come up.
I'm like tyler-ships we already have using the assimilated tech from Omega rep, along with appropriate weapons.
I wouldn't want a cube or a sphere and a probe would be a distant maybe.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.
I have come to the conclusion that I have a memory like Etch-A-Sketch. I shake my head and forget everything.

Its generally accepted that playable Borg ships mean the endtimes have come. Also again as pointed out above, how the hell do you know which way you're flying? Probe is a longshot maybe, but any other ship is a straight up HELL NO.

Straight up Borg Cubes/Spheres/Probes and the like, no. Those would make no sense.
Now, give us Borg Assimilated ships, perhaps variants of older ships and I could get behind that. An Adapted Steamrunner, Nova or Oberth could be fun. Adapted versions of the Vo'quv or some of the low level Orion ships would interest me. And with them being assimilated by the Borg, no more explanation needed as to why these "old ships" are now T6's. Just like the Liberated Borg races that LTS members get, these ships were liberated as well.
Or yes, even be tied into the Cooperative, the "friendly" Borg. Perhaps they update some ships for us to fight the renewed threat the Borg will pose in the near future.
But I've gotta agree with the majority here, no way would I want a playable, purely Borg, ship.

No thanks, I'm not interested in a visually unappealing ship, with no discernible front end, that I would have to paint big red arrows on, and which insta-dies whenever it encounters an Alliance vessel.

I really hope not, and cubes are never, but a friendly tip. Vague thread titles are discouraged here, consider clarifying, like "does anyone else want playable borg ships"
Never. Some enemies should remain NPC only. Borg Cubes would be nigh impossible to fly, as Dev's have already pointed out, especially trying to figure which way the ship is pointing and the fact the camera won't zoom out far enough.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
Nope. We already have the Tal Shiar adapted ships for our Liberated Borg (and pretend-Borg alien) captains. My Romulan Liberated Borg flies one along with his liberated crew.
I'm thinking that assimilated versions of the T6 ships we have now. They will be the T7 ships. lol.
But seriously, I would like to see some of the Borg ships for players. But with limitations. It can be that they were captured. However, the crew will have limited access to the ships full potential. And the skills can be weaker versions of what the Borg use.
But I can see a way it can be done. I think the only reason it isn't done it because they devs don't think they can make as much money off of them.
Razar.

Well at least the times of darkness in Admiral Quinn's section of ESD will last for more than a second if the Cubes fly by.

Besides... we already have the Assimilated set that can make ANY ship in the game look like it was taken by the Borg. We can even see a Kazon Raider get assimilated, and we know the Borg don't even consider the Kazon worth assimilating.

Would not surprise me if my liberated Borg will fly one next time this year.

There's several ships in-game without a discernible front or rear and some that are quite small. Impulse engine trails really help.
It's going to be a zoo around ESD with all the Borg Cubes looking for a parking spot.
