The most likely fact is that the ship will be a redesign of the current Constitution class in R&D. Its abit silly to add a "third" constitution class when there are two existing in two different gambling areas (R&D - TOS/TMP and Lockbox - Kelvin), The C-Store could be a good idea but for a ship like that, no way.
From what i'm seeing, it'll be a Promo R&D ship, linked with the Disco D7
I do find myself wondering if instead of being another Infinity Promotion Ship, it'll be a separate promotion to start with that has just these two ships.

Well we'll have full details on Monday, June 17. I just saw a notice in my youtube subscription crawl (of which I have Cryptic's Official STO channel subbed), that Cryptic, along with ZEFilms, will have something about the Discoprise and ST: D D7 around 11AM CDT.
STO CBT Player - 400 day+ Vet, Currently Silver
Cryptic, would you actulaly like me to spend actual Money? It's Simple:
Full, Story-driven, select from start 1-50 Klingon Side
Scrap current Lock Box & Lobi system for something more reasonable
Expand Dil and Rep/Fleet Marks to regular story content

Yeah i just saw the thumbnail on my phone, immediately went to the news section of the forums and saw nothing, then went back to YouTube and saw that it was just an announcement of an announcement
It's impossible that they'll be lock box ships since the current lock box will only be 6 weeks old by the time this month ends. That leaves us with C-Store (LOLNOPE), Promo and a very VERY outside shot of it being a lobi ship. But if it were a lobi ship, it would only be released after a massive lobi sale ends.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.
The Discovery era versions of the Enterprise and D7 are coming June 20th, and filmmaker extraordinaire ZEFilms was kind enough to make us this amazing video showing off the new ships and what they can do. Not only are these screen accurate versions of the ships, based on the 3D models used on Discovery and lovingly created by ship artist Donny Versiga, but they are the first ships to use Fighter Squadron pets, meaning the Discovery can have around 95 pets out at any given time.
95 pets? How would that math work out?
If these are hangar bay pets in some form, wouldn't the number be even? Usually you get 2 waves per hangar bay, and 1 or 2 hangar bays? How do you get to an odd number?
Does the ship have some innate ability, console or trait that adds more? Are they also counting other sources, like the Scorpion Consumable Pet and Photonic Fleet and Fleet Support?
It could be a typo, but a poster on reddit reminded us of something from the last 10 Forward Stream (05.06.19) mentioning that ambassadorkael worked with an unnamed fan content creator about content with this ship, and the creator mailed back: "Are you sure? Is that a typo?"
It would kinda fit if that unnamed content creator is ZEFilms.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
Hummm, I wonder... If the DSC Connie and D7 are going to be in-game aircraft carriers, and operate as such, with such a high number of combat pets - that's a whole new class of ship in-game. Perhaps it will be C-Store, with both having 25th Century skins as alts?
If they are C-Store, I have a feeling they will either cost more because of the new "fighter carrier" dynamic, or be exempt from the T6-ship voucher.
Begs the question: will they come with bridges? Will the Connie unlock the alt uniform seen in DSC season 2?
Many, many questions. All I hope will be answered at some point 🤗
People ask how long have I been playing STO - well the answer is simple: I have been here since the beginning. I just haven't always had a lot to say.
They would be exempt from the T6 Voucher, now. But after another C-Store release they would drop off the blacklist.

The way I'm thinking these squadrons will act is each squadron will behave as one unit. So each squadron would be equivelent to, lets say one Peregrine fighter. Individually, each member of the squadron is probably rather pathetic. But massed together, the power grows. And in order to actually behave like a squadron they are probably not gonna be just mashed together and fly like a single current hanger pet. They're probably gonna be able to swarm.
Which brings to mind a line from Babylon 5 when they went after the second Vorlon Ambassador.

It would make sense in terms of getting feedback from players on the performance of the squadrons. C-Store means wider access, which means more people, which means more reports on performance, which means more data to work off of.
Most prototypes have been widely accessable, either by event or by C-Store. Back when they did the Cruiser Commands, only the Avenger/Mogh had them before they were given to all cruisers. Secondary Deflectors... the Dysons prototyped them if I remember correctly. I believe Raider Flanking was prototyped on the Plesh'Brek Heavy Raider.
Generally when we have some new feature or mechanic... it was always prototyped on a ship that was made widely available in one form or another, allowing for more feedback from the playerbase.

This is right, except for one new ship mechanic, the vanguard ship's escorts.

I'm hopeful too. And I doubt the Beacon was the beta test because we can't control them like we can hanger pets. It just summons ships to fight for us like the older Delta and Pirate beacons and makes use of the Hur'q AI.
the torp dont seem to be firing from where the ship actually is
also
tick tock tock tick
Those are all small shuttleraft/pods being launched. There was no torpedo fired in the Discoprise animated GIF that was tweeted.

Ehhh, I wouldn't get too excited. Even if by some crazy stupid decision by Cryptic, they DID release it in the c-store, they would release an at best "meh" quality ship from the boff/console layout standpoint. Personally, I'd rather have a good quality boff/console layout in the form of a grand prize ship(lock box/lobi/promo) instead of a craptastic quality c-store ship.

If only there was a way to to get C store ships to have those states...almost like a Fleet ship

Nah you somehow misunderstand that. I'm didn't even mention fleet level vs non-fleet level. I'm referring to craptastic ships with horrible boff/console layouts like the T6 Excelsior and Intrepid. The Excelsior is so underwhelming and WAAAAAYYYY too engineering heavy. It's almost as bad as the Samsar which sucks since the Excelsior is one of my favorite ships visually. I'd rather have a "grand prize" ship with a better boff layout over a cheaper/easier to acquire c-store ship that sucks.

There are C-Store ships that actually work too. Not all C-Store ships are as bad off as the T6 Excelsior.

Two of the top 3 ships in the game right now are C-Store ships.. the Gagarin/Qugh and the Jem'Hadar Warship.
The only 'better' ship is the Vaadwaur Juggernaut.
If you think you can't get quality ships from the C-Store, you're very much mistaken. Lobi/Lockbox ships usually have a little something special, but none of them are significantly ahead of C-Store offerings.

you tease...
The Vanguard ships are C-Store though. The only stipulation for them is they first have to be used by Jem'Hadar characters.

Is that where the "95" comes from?
Very excited for this! That said, I certainly hope this isn't true (despite what I see with my own eyes in that video).
