I love the design of the Vorgon Cruiser (the ones we fight ingame.. Vorgon Conclusions?) so I wouldn't mind one of those. Please make it a sci/sci-leaning ship though. Last few ships have been taccy or engi (Bajor fighter, Breen Escort, Vorgon fighter, Vorgon Carrier) - we haven't had a decent sci ship since the Lukari and before that the Krenim.

Though, if you're saving the sci ship for winter or anni, I'd love a Lukari Sci-Carrier. Make it so ;)
Well the Krenim ship was sort of Sci/Tac but still with the typical balanced 3/3 eng and tac console slots, and the Lukari ship was Sci/Eng, so yeah Sci/Sci this time possibly. However the Breen carrier was more Sci/Tac than the Krenim ship.

I wish we had the ARGO from TNG to have sand dune races. Would be a nice touch to summer event and a well needed new and fun event.

Bring on the ARCO (ATV) and the sand dunes to Risa.

RE. new events, I put a poll on twitter for funsies and I got a rather unexpected result (and for those eager to jump to a random contradiction: I darn well know what sampling context and the lack of confidence intervals mean for a statistical argument. This isn't one.)

Now to take the very close running joke answer seriously for a moment: Consider an invasion of the seagulls mini-game as an allegory for invasion by the Hur'Q. New events on Risa have had a general tendency to be their own thing but winter event mini-games pull from events in the STO universe. See. Assimilated snowmen assault, snowconian, and Kram'Ihri. Untapped ground: themed Risa events that loosely tie into current or recent arcs (ex. seagull invasion, volunteering for Tzenkethi turtle conservation, general Ferengi shenanigans)

It's a bit late to do anything for 2018, but for future years could be something to consider (if it's not written large that Risa games have to be an escape from whatever's going on in-game.)

A queue involving someone sabotaging the weather controls similar to that DS9 episode where Worf disabled them, and having to chase them down to stop them. Maybe make the same Ferengi from the Risa based TNG episode be the antagonist.

Really? You have to make everything into a weapon and shoot at thing?
That is the reason I like Risa...it is a break from all that TRIBBLE.

    Agreed.

Have expressed the opinion before that Risa lacks any sort of water-fight option. As you say, the Winter event gives us a multitude of FUN weapons to shoot comical enemies. Why not give us Water gun based fun weapons for Risa?

They could even simply be summer re-dresses of the winter ones. For example:

A version of 'The Big One' - but the summer one would shoot a number of small water baloons.
A version of 'The Snowblower' which would shoot a large spray of water.

Basically the winter weapons, except the ice has melted ;)

I also wish they'd add the old Risa map to the 'quick transport' locations.

This honestly sounds like a really fun idea! Odds are, the system would only work for a battlezone, PvE setup, but maybe there could be a player competition too? It could take place inside some sectioned off battle area (kinda like the old Andorian Ushaan zone?), and during specific event times you could 'fight' other players for points and subsequently Lohlunat Favours.

What I would like the most is possibly the ability to freely shoot other players with the water guns (Cosmetic effects only, of course). Obviously, there's the issue of the ever prevalent Risa trolling brigades, so perhaps there could simply be an opt-in system, or you could only be shot while already in or very close to the water.

Though I will say, players are freely able to pelt others with snowballs during the winter event, so it may not even be that big of a deal to just let us shoot each other with harmless water guns and other toys. In any case, I do really, really enjoy the idea of water fights for the Risa event, so I do hope they could someday add that feature in, in some form or another.

You spray water on Seagulls and you'll have the RSPCA (Risa Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) all over your a*s.

From what I heard in the in-game chat the summer event starts on the 13th of July, honestly I feel that's a little later than it needs to be. I have have pretty much done most of what the expansion has to offer and I am going to be bored of it within the next three weeks.

I doubt it. That's when the next tranche of episodes will be released I believe. Risa will here within the week.

Neverwinter's summer event has a game where you can chuck water balloons, pitchers of water and even barrels of water at other players, each item having a different range or AoE.

    Let's have that! :)

I heard someone looking at the calendar for July 5?

Yeah, thats what some people are saying in Facebook...others said even later July 13? Whatever it is...too late IMO and definitely not happening today's patch.

Guys, it's coming soon. If you feel any agitation at that fact, step away from the keyboard and focus on something else for a while. Cryptic isn't going to change their plans because you've escalated from asking nicely. Blogs and the event will come in due time.

I think it's coming sooner than people think. They posted teaser images and "Get ready to.." messages on Twitter and Facebook. I don't see them doing that if we weren't very close to the launch date. I'd say either today or next Thursday. Certainly not in July.

Not today, unless Kael's escalated his role in the company from Community Manager to minor super villain, repeat with moustache and a delight in small evils. ;)

They customarily give people a week for events (see. timing last year). That helps build excitement, leave space for a couple blogs, and helps folks plan and prep their characters.

Considering season of summer has only just started in the northern hemisphere and lasts through to September, saying it's too late to start the Summer event is very laughable indeed!

So, am I completely banned? Just checking.
I'm just being honest, and all are free to disagree. I feel like if the calendar had been used to let us know when exactly, people like myself who waited all year wouldn't be so impatient, and asking when day after day.

Nah man, summer starts on June 1st and last until end of August. Not saying they don't still have time but you got the dates for the "norther hemisphere" wrong.

    Summer starts 21st June officially.

Come On T6 Risian Corvette! Need Risian stuff for Risa again!

Nu! I want vorgon. The designs are sublime, even though the colours are... brown

My FedKling is flying a gold Vorgon Xyfius and my FedEng is flying a green/blue carrier.
Now a LTS and loving it.

What's laughable is that some think this delay is not laughable. Communications could be better and at least would be nice to hear something other than soon TM

Love how they post teasers, they then quote themselves, "we don't talk about upcoming content", then when they do talk about upcoming content it gets to be a one-sided conversation without player-based input nor properly clear up what their upcoming content is before posting a blog on the issue.

I love Cryptic. I love ViL. Loved the shear number of ships they have modelled expertly over the years. Weston is a blessing to this company and all veterans seem to be impressed with how much he has done and he sees it as just a ton of fun. I'm just a bit concerned that users are not being considered moving forward. I saw on the Reddit a posting about how Cryptic was the whole reason we have a loot box issue in the US now.

Back in the early days, Devs asked for our feedback, input and poll results. Can we go back there? Can we get a design the next ship input? Could you ask what we would like to see? Concerned that we're going to get another Vorgon that next to no one wants now.

Good luck Cryptic, and I hope Risa kicks butt, but I do wish we could be in the loop. Just open the flood gates and show us all you're working on, where the fires are at and what could be coming down the road. Hype us up again and we'll support ya! If we get a trickle of good content with bugs, none of us appreciate the hours and hours of time you guys are working per week merely because we don't talk about upcoming content.

Show us what you got! I think a lot of us would be more understanding and appreciative if we saw you guys were working on the next progression system, working on X upcoming feature episodes and are planning between 6-9 new ships this year. Weston did a killer job sharing what he did daily and what his work looks like. I think the entire studios could benefit from opening up like that.
