At first when I heard that Jem'Hadar could be engineers and science officers I didn't think it made sense but after having tried them on Tribble I can say that I will definitely be making a Sci Jem'Hadar. The ground combat is much more fun with it than it was with a Tac officer.
We'll get:
2 new soon to be dead queues
1 space battlezone that will be empty after two months
1 rep a lot of people won't care about
1 new fraction with the most limited character customization ever
1 new species fed & kdf (I won't ever touch because I really don't care about them)
3 or 4 new episodes
a bunch of ships with new mechanics
a bunch of standard ships
supposedly a new recruitment event that's in the tribble calendar but was never announced (so it might as well not happen for all we know)
Also we'll interact with a galactic power that like the kobali can get the kirk treatment for all I care and know from the new episodes.
The thing I'm actually looking forward to is using the jemmy carrier on all my characters. We'll see IF the event actually happens and IF it's worth grinding for.
You forgot:
- A bunch of new STO players playing Level 60 Jem Hadr characters with zero understanding of how a lot of the game works and getting upset when they go to near end game queues and get called out for making mistakes, and/or complaining to the STO Dev team about why they got an AFK Penalty in a near end game queue - with the follow up of "What does DPS mean anyway?"

The sector space BZ looks kind of like a variation of patrols just with them tied together by an red alert style boss.
Was thinking that one thing that might entice me to play and even buy into the new ships is if they had store bundles for the jemhadar and spoonheads as different entities alongside the inevitable huge bundle.

Seems like an over reaction to me. I hope a bunch of new players do show up but I'm not expecting a ton. Anyways, on the flip side of that, experienced players will be spared the grind of rolling level 1 toons if they so desire. That's a plus.
Probably not empty, but these things do tend to become less busy once everyone's grinded the rep out.
Every current BZ with the exception of the Tzenkethi is always populated. I do a lot of BZ's and I never have trouble finding other players in either the Undine or Badlands. Dyson Ground is also a very busy place.
If the BZ isn't buggy, it will be populated.
That's not true about always populated. I have not been able to do any BZ's in the past 6 months due to them always being empty or almost completely empty every time I go in. I am lucky to see 2 or 3 other ships inside a BZ. As for Dyson ground that was dead last time I went down.

With the exception of you can be the only one on the server doing the Gamma Quad and still trigger the end scenario and still complete it on your own.

When do you go there? 3 AM? I'm in the BZs all the tine and none of them are ever dead, including Defera and Tzenkethi.
I assume you are in or near EST as you sound like it? In which case I think my prime playtime converts over to 3am to 4am EST.
I'm still on the fence about this new expansion. It's great that we get to play Jem 'Hadar and Cardassian characters, but the fact that they aren't their own factions and we only get 7 mission it very disappointing.
I would have loved for this expansion to build on the LoR, especially when it comes to the Cardi's. The Gamma pack is nice with lots of goodies and the DS9 lock box looks great, but IMO there should have been more missions or more story content to drive with all the shiny new toys.
13 missions would have been nice intead of the 7 and a separate faction for Jem's and Cardi's (or even have them team up to become the new Dominion).
Well I never expected the Jem'Hadar to get everything that the Feds or KDF do but I was hoping they'd get as much content as the Romulans have, this could still come in future updates though so I'll choose to be optimistic lol.

Sorry but they wont be, there will be very little unique content in the game ever again.
Honestly they should just eliminate the factions...but they wont do that...so we get these micro-factions.
Can't have a honest conversation because of a white knight with power

It's not that they won't do it, they can't. The code when you get deep down inside of it is deeply grained in having a 2 faction system. In order to eliminate the idea of factions, you have to essentially make a whole new game.

I don't understand. Many "veteran" STO players don't know how to play anyways, why are new ones even worse?
People still TRIBBLE up ISA, they can get rekt in Borg Red Alerts, what's any different from existing players to new ones?
The only things I think left to reveal are Cardassian Boff details, if there is a Dominion Admirality Campaign and what is going into the C-store, including in bundle form and for what price.

Combined with the expected new Lockbox, it's going to be another Wallet Offensive
Hate to be a downer, but am I the only one here who probably won't be running around with a new Jem'Hadar tomorrow?
I mean, I love the look of the remodelled DS9 and I'm not saying I won't play the new content - but I am not excited about the expansion and I can't find any motivation to create a Jem'Hadar.
If anything, I'll probably be a little disappointed initally as everyone in my usual social-circle will be off playing their new Jem'Hadar or Cardassian characters and I'll undoubtedly find myself the only non-Jem'Hadar player in most STFs I play.
probably.
not sure if I will buy the pack but I'll make 1 JHD and finish up the starter mission at least to get the recruit device.
Been out of the loop for awhile, but was just curious about what time tomorrow the patch actually goes live? I live in EST.
Check the time on your Launcher.

Thoughts/opinions?
Cardassians are going directly into Federation or KDF not Dominion and are not selected as part of the Dominion because the vast majority of Cardassians still hold a bit of a grudge against the Dominion for the 'not so little' slaughter of millions of their citizens towards the end of the war. If there's one thing that Cardassians do well, it's holding a grudge! You'll also have seen on the odd occasion Cardassian officers in Federation uniform already. Cardassian military was also limited by the Treaty signed at the end of the War so they, even now are not in a position to become a faction in it's own right, just as the Romulans, who will take a century or two to recover from the Billions of lives lost only 40 years prior.
As for the number of missions, whilst it's known that there's 7 coming, whose to say there isn't another tranche on it's way in a couple of months time.
People should actually wait and play through the full content first before casting stones. I've throughly enjoyed what I've tested on Tribble, and that's not even the full package on there!

[Mod Hat] I merged @davefenestrator's thread into here. We're going to leave any threads making specific questions or suggestions, but this can be the "general thoughts" thread for the time being until Kael puts up an official feedback sticky after the expansion goes live tomorrow. [/Mod Hat]
